What an intimidating project! I’m so impressed that you got it all to work perfectly. Man, what a project! Thanks for the great couple of videos on this shifter install! Sheesh, I need a drink!
OMG that was basically a shifter build.😳 Hopefully Lotus used better cables in the Emira.😅 This makes the GR Corolla’s short shifter install a walk in the park.🤪😂
Haha - yes. Every few years since 2011 Lotus had made incremental improvements on the shifter and cables. From what I read the Emira shifts quite good. But I couldn't deal with the shift feel on my older car anymore. It looked the part, but didn't feel right when shifting. Now it's night and day!
Thank you. I'm certainly glad it's done. This car is a hobby and a toy and a family member. Mostly just like that nothing is rusty. I'd be cursing and swearing if I had to deal with rusty bolts and nuts. The install is a little bit tedious because you have to do so many different things at the same time from interior to under the car to in the engine area. But once you balance all of those things together, it's really not too bad. Thanks so much for your support.
Wanted to give you a shoutout. Installed the v2 the last couple days and would have taken alot longer without your videos! Also they still haven't fixed the brake cable rub haha. Keep the videos coming!!
Great videos and I'm astounded at your patience! I watched all three and I don't even own an Evora - great job! Brought my daughter in to see your Taylor Swift cover.
Bwahahah. I don't think that audition will get me to be one for backup singers. Lol. But yeah the patients is worth it because the car is special to me. Thanks for watching. And if you ever get a chance to own an Evora snap one up. They're only going up in value!
Wow! I need to do this very adjustment, in fact I took my car to Inokinetic after my install to have this adjustment made and they couldn’t align 3/4 neutral - very disappointing. Now that I have seen this, maybe I will be able to align it properly. I even just did a trackday with the alignment off, you learn to adapt😅 but man it would be a sweet shifter if it lines up.
Oh man. That would freak me out. Getting it right was a patient game of adjustment and feel (and cutting) but worth all the time and energy. I've done a track day and very happy now!
A hugely helpful video, so thank you for that. I have a MY11 Evora S but with OEM MY12 cables and it is a very light shift experience, spoiled by the long travel and loose feel of the shifter mech itself. I would agree the MY11 cables are very poor but if you have MY12 cables I don't see a need to change them.
There is a short shift adapter for the Evora that could possibly reduce the length of the throws. I've never used it, and I've not spoken to anyone that's used it. So I'm not recommending it in any way. I am aware of its existence. aerieperformance.com/products/short-shift-adaptor
Yes I have seen that. It’s a simple idea and looks like a quality item. My issue is I think a bit of wear is on the blue ball and there is no OEM stock. So I am thinking of inokinetic shifter might be the best option.
Whelp. It aint' cheap. About $600 for the cables and another $1200 for the Shifter at the time I purchased. Prices may have changed by now. The install took me about 15 hours (but I work REALLY slow). If I wasn't recording and knew what I was doing, I think I could get it down to about 9-10 hours. But not much faster than that. Noting is terribly hard, but it is time consuming because it's work all over the car at the same time.

Haha. Beers were drank. Cars were repaired. Satisfaction was had upon completion! LOL
Amazing videos mate ! This channel is way underrated!
Thanks you for the support. I'm slowly but surely adding content

Wow, props for making this. Just install is plenty of work, I cannot imagine filming and editing additionally.

Also are you on Instagram?
That's awesome. Super glad it worked out for you.
We're slowly building some grass roots support for the Evora.

Nice work, clean install! (torquing and marking fasteners is a pain, eh? 😉)
Thanks It is. But also somewhat cathartic. It's sort of satisfying to feel like you're notching them off one by one!

@@alistairfuller5138 I just did a track sprint with my inokinetic shifter and very happy with it. Perfect shifts each time.
How much did everything cost? So intimidating. I respect your hard work to do it!
