The route is called ‘Flytrap’ and for non climbers it’s worth knowing this is quite a ‘committing’ climb. Once you’re in the cave there’s no escape really other than climbing up. It says a lot about Pete’s confidence in Toby’s ability that he’s happy and relaxed about taking him on a quite serious climb like this. Very cool.
you can stay and live with the seals
I mean, except a boat
they should say the name of the route in the video! to do it justice
@@JMZ369 its called the seal trap
@@NikoMoraKamuseals are the doggos of the sea
Had a right mare on this years ago, spent about an hour greasing along the holds to get into the hanging belay, got beefed by seals. Belayed a rather unmotivated partner in to the stance. It had started raining outside at this point and the waves were picking up. we both stared up into the darkness, shat our kegs then lead back out the way we had came and prussiked away to a pint and a solid bonk of the egos.
Top route though ;) standard gogarth experience
This is the most British comment I've ever read lol. Glad y'all made it through-a good climbing day is any day you walk away from, a great climbing day is one where you actually climb something.
Toby is strong climber but at the same time he is shaky and nervous like all of us when climbing outdoors. The lack of experience from his side really makes me feel included :D Absolutely love this content
Same I’m in a wheelchair and my legs started moving for the first time after watching toby
I can’t thank Pete enough for bringing Toby into the world of crack climbing. I hope this content never ends 🙏
And crack smoking
Climbing a Cliff Face is ALWAYS more "Entertaining" after smoking a Massive amount of Crack!.. I never Climb without a Few Pipes MINIMUM now!.. YYYYEEEEEHAAAW!😮😮😮😂🎉
@Benny-Boo72Ooooh!... I wonder if You're Talking of the Same Crack I am?... I seem to think Not!.. Lucky Man!😂..
@@Ericxnugzlulz🎉😂
@Benny-Boo72 k
I'm glad Peter & Toby are climbing together again. Those are some of my favorite videos of this channel
Pete and Toby's relationship is so great! More of these two please!
It's amazing that i was doing parkour like 7 years ago watching Toby on STORROR and after a really bad injury i moved on from parkour and started climbing...some months ago i found your amazing channel and surprise! to see Toby on your videos to me personally was just a circle coming together, life is good man, how awsome is it you can live knowing that these great people are sharing the same space.time as you? ehehe
Thank u, Abraço !
same bro 😂
I love seeing the wideboyz out climbing stuff like this. As a Upper Peninsula (Michigan, USA) climber, It's bloody epic to see.
UP gang
As another UP climber I salute you
+1 for "Toby Takes Falls on Lead" please!
Love seeing Toby push himself out of his comfort zone like this, with Pete encouraging and supporting him in such a wholesome way! Amazing stuff guys!
RIP drone 😌
Toby and Pete is what we need 🍿
bringing toby into the world of climbing has been such an amazing an entertaining experience to witness. much love to you all!
I think Benj might be up for an adventure also, perhaps you could take the whole squad out next time?
Was just thinkin Benj would eat that up
Yeah Benj would eat that up like Cave is his second name
Ngl, Wide Boyz got me hooked on Storror. Now these are some of my favorite videos
Content GOATS absolutely love these lads. Parkour and crack climbing and cracking good chat. Cheers from the states
Toby Segar and Beau Miles need a vid together. My hero’s hero.
Toby and Pete climbing together is the best vibes. Absolute chill and class. Love ya boys ❤
Really enjoying the videos you guys do with people who are new to trad. As a trad newbie myself, it’s really valuable to see and hear Pete’s advice on what’s good/terrible for gear placements and belay setups. As much detail on that as possible is greatly appreciated!
Loving the adventurous trips.
Keep up the great work 🙌
YES the dynamic duo is back!!! Can't get enough of you two chaps
Love these videos so much, still waiting for Pete's return to parkour!
I love seeing Toby climb, but I'd also love to see more episodes with Pete/Tom doing parkour too!
„He looks at cracks and they’re different colors” 😂😂😂 24:18
My elbow tendonitis is hurting just from watching you guys. I can't wait for it to heal enough to climb again.
@@anglosaxon2367 Yesn't, I hurt it while climbing but it was in supination and pushing off my palm on a rock. I didn't wait for my arm to be strong enough/really dumb move and bit the bullet. Wasn't worth it, I need a handhold in place where one doesn't exist.
Toby did so well I definitely wouldn’t be that brave so round of applause to you mate❤
Love these so much! Toby defo called the right nope card there!
What a great video. Fun teaming you two. Beautiful scenery, colours and light. Flora and fauna.
More please!
You two are a beautiful fun climbing bromance - put a ring on it lads and carry on 👍🏼😊
Pete and Toby out on a proper lads adventure, love to see it!
That looks like a super fun climb. Would love to give that a go one day. Great work Toby
Love ❤watching Pete and Bob. Great double act in beautiful scenery with interesting and informative commentary
That was a really fun looking climb! It makes me want to fly across the ocean just to give it a go :)
That cave pitch looks amazing ❤
Omg! you got Seal in the video! :D that dude rips through routes like nothing duuude! nice to see Seal :D
Such a cool location!
Excellent work Toby 👏
toby kinda sounds like michael caine
I'm so jealous of Toby. Wish I knew people to teach me all this.
I’ve been lucky enough to have climbed those cliffs. Great area to climb, especially with the sun on your back.👍👍
That looks like a proper adventure!
I have a good idea for the next video: Pete takes Toby to Elbsandstein in Germany (or to CZ) and climbs some scary sandstone towers with him. Then to crossover to parkour, you guys try the famous sandstone tower jumps - here in Hermany they is even a sport of jumping between towers in Elbsandstein and they have like a grading system for the jumps) - Toby will like it
I did an unintentional variation on this route. Instead of going up to the cave entrance from the 2nd belay I did a rising traverse into the back of the cave and around the other side arriving onto the chockstone. Very dark, very damp, very crumbly, think I gave it E3 5c or so and named it Nightflight. Probs not recommended unless very keen on 'interesting' adventures! Nice video.
Such a great climb! Big up from Sweden
"Crack climbing"... I'm Clean now...I still Climb though... 'Wink Wink'😊
Must have been an exceptional nice day at the crag (except for the drone, I guess)!
Love this content so interesting how you show the details of trad climbing
What an amazing cave!! This is a place I HAVE to climb one day!!
Very beautiful scene and an adventure climb. I am only do bouldering, but this wants me to do trad.
Toby pushing his limits is always in his element
love your guys content, always have. Don't need to put a clickbait title on there, just say Segar and I'm happy to watch. no hate, stay wide x
Why do you never take me on climbs, Pete Whittaker? Would love to go.
Toby segar cant be pushed too far, the too far gets tooby segard
Love Toby content
love you Toby brother .
classic pete haha
Nice video! Amazing route and surroundings :)
Totally don't get the title though lol.
So maybe I missed it so far (and hopefully will see somewhere else in the video), but how do you take the holds back out as you go? Or do you 'lose' them along the route and need more for the next trip?
i think the routes Flytrap?
Great climb! poor drone!
24:22 pete is in the matrix, he doesn't even see the cracks anymore, he just see's the code and what color to use.
seal of approval on it
What a cool climb, I really need to pick up trad.
SPIDERSWAG
climbing on top of the melted building
Big shift from fake to real is that you cannot see holds always. You are best to keep feeling at times and you find new and better grips. On fake, you alway know what's there, no hunting required.
What is the "trick with the cam" that Toby mentions using early on the first pitch?
that route seems like a "safe-ish" free solo project
Nice one👏👏
Congrats Toby.
Is this before the pulley snap?
Please don’t kill Bob
😂
Girth hitched on a wire! hahah
where is this exactly?
Gogarth,Wales
Losing my mojo a bit, but this looks amazing!
Is it possible to climb this route as in deep water solo style? I don't mean 'sure, go on and die', but it seemed to be secure all the way just judging by the video. Anyone with experience can advise me on this one?
amazing stuff
At least you lads got the "seal" of approval....apologies for that one, I'll see myself out
Where is this climb ?
Gogarth, North Wales.
Toby Segar's Guide to Belaying:
1. Few little bits
2. Equalizer sling
3. Bob's your uncle
4. Profit
Was that seagull just part of song was it actually there?
This definitely reminds me of progressing in trad climbing, but being a bit rusty and outmatched in skill by my climbing partner.
Takes alot from a leader sometimes to be considerate but be able to push your partners confidence in what's achievable.
It's surprising this gets E2(E3 UKC). I assume this is mostly because of coastal rock and the potentially dangerous moves committing to the end of pitch 3. Toby seems pretty strong as well!
I climbed moonraker(HVS), South Devon area. Epic approach. And bold last pitch in comparison to the first two.
Cool content this.
Why do you need two ropes? When I climb (i dont do trad climbing, just sport climbing on a rock) I use just one rope...
using two ropes is really useful when trading climbing. It helps stop rope drag from the different pieces of protection. Trad protection because of the randomness of its spacing can put sharp angle on a single rope. With two you clip one rope for all the gear on the left and the other rope deals with all the gear on the right. Another factor is protection on traverses. One rope can deal with the first section, then the second will do the work after that, again cutting down on rope drag.
@@MrBugs183 ahso, thank you for explaining :)
It is said that one of the greatest climbers "Patrick Edlinger" died after falling from a staircase. (Not sure if this is true)
The most dangerous is not necessarily what we think.
I think it’s about time to retire that helmet, Pete 😂
I dropped it in the sea by accident right at the end of the day. It's a goner 😢😅
@@WideBoyzhahahaha forgot about that
What ia the name of the route?
Flytrap, E2 5b ***. Classic!
Almost Escher type perspectives.
How's Tobys finger?
What's the route?
Flytrap
Really really enjoying the sort of Storran vibe to the videos since you guys called up, the POVs intercut with the drone stuff is just so cool. Phenomenal content. 🤌
Err pitch 1 belay, err Screw gates...
toby is part of every climbing channel now
He's definitely in to it for sure
Wait, what else was he on recently? I need more Toby climbing content! :D

Couldn't you free solo with the safety of the sea below..? Would be quicker... 🤔
No because they're well above heights where significant injury could occur during an uncontrolled fall into water. Olympic divers to get injured by water impacts, and they're going higher than that.
They would probably be fine at the bottom of stage 2, and risky everywhere besides that.
Nathan drake ts
Well for starters climbing is a safe sport , so what could go possibly wrong if you solo . Loads of people solo ! I mean look at Alex Honnold persuading Magdus Mitbo to do a multi pitch solo when it`s a few grades below your max . He was so relaxed and was just 'dying ' to do it again . And his girlfriend was thrilled too . Goodness , all these negative naysayers ! Really cheeses me off . Get a life !
What is up sailing? I don’t even know if I’m spelling that right.
It's a loan word from German, meaning descending on a rope. It's spelled abseiling (or abseilen originally).
Oh abseiling! I see I see, I’m in the states and we call it repel. Is it the same thing, or are they different?
@@Oddadventureswithalex As far as I know, they are the same thing. However, you might've guessed by now that neither American nor British English are my first language, so take that with a grain of salt.
I thought Toby got a finger tendon injury a couple months back? Is he good now?
I see Toby, I click! (Although I watch everything from your channel anyways, so no difference really 😆)
What a beautiful spot ! The seal is really happy now that he has a drone ;)
0:45 gets the seal of approval
I love that this channel has it's couples Toby & Pete, Anna & Tom, Tom & trad princess and our all time favourite Tom & Pete :) I love the open climbing relationships
Love watching you guide Toby thru adventurous crack sessions
