@@MariosPanteliadis-pianist your pedaling is insane! I'm trying to learn this piece now and came here to see if I could get some tips on how to make the pedaling sound natural, but I don't think I can do whatever magical maneuverings you do
The playing was faultless, but I much prefer a slower, more ponderous interpretation. Spring doesn’t have to be bouncy and light, although there are aspects of that in spring. Anyways, Spring to me is represented by romance, a beautiful nostalgia of a new year and a new chapter of our lives starting, a time of warm, calm winds blowing in as the trees and flowers began to slowly emerge from their desolation in winter. Very nice playing, and I’m glad some prefer this interpretation, but unfortunately my own sense of musicality disagrees with it.

Greetings from Germany I hear this version of you and were Impressed i loved. I tried to learn it right now. Can you do a little toturial in there you show how you played and see the hand work in slow-motion ? Sorry when i dont write all right. 👍🏾😅👌🏾😇
Hello, thank you for your comment!! Unfortunately I don't think a tutorial would be a nice idea, because there is not a right or wrong way to approach a piece. Practice is personal and depends on your level and previous experience although there should be definitely a method to be followed. I have to know your level to be able to give you any advice or coaching. Also the choice of repertoire should be specifically decided on your level. This piece is not simple so if for example your previous experience is not enough, I would suggest you to start learning another piece before this one. But it really depends on your specific case. If you need any advice feel free to contact me preferably through Facebook or Instagram, or through my site. Greetings to Germany! Alles gute!
Very interesting question! Don't know about better, but different for sure. Maybe you are right that it would sound simpler and also at the first impression more graceful, but wouldn't it be much more awkward to have just compact chords instead of small notes in every single bar? maybe for the first few bars it would be fine but then it could naturally become a lot heavier for the ear, a lot more "tiring" than grace notes. I think grace notes have a number of roles here: they help to create an evidently active and joyful atmosphere throughout the whole piece (SPRING song); also they create contrast between the grace-note accompaniment and the continuous melody on the right hand; it is an effective way to have a three-section "orchestration" where the sections are clearly contrasting: base line, grace-note accompaniment and melody throughout the piece. Also, at the same time the small notes render "easier" for the pianist to make long lines; it would be much more difficult to play the same piece using chords instead of grace notes (also for voice-balance). Finally, this precise type of a guitar-like accompaniment (same throughout the whole piece) exists in no other of his songs without words, which shows that there IS a special reason. I trust Felix but at the same time I like discussing such points of view. Most of the times all artists have to ask themselves questions as yours as they make them appreciate and admire great composers and compositions! Thank you! P.S. Sorry if my reply was too long.
From Switzerland a loud " bravo" for this interpretation! I tried to play it, but it's too difficult. Better let's listen to it, played by a piano artist!😉

I love how there are 2 types of interpretation of this piece: 1. The staccato jumping joyful warming spring 2. The pedal nostalgic colourful "tearful gladness" spring ruclips.net/video/QPwNbEySjG4/видео.html This video is no 1 but i think no 2 is better for me, this piece just fits so well with the piano. I wish i one day can play this and also on a good piano that must've sound so good :')
Thanks, there are no rules but in my opinion there should be clearliness in harmony and for this reason I would suggest the change of pedal after grace notes when they are not part of harmony.
Hi there! What I could suggest is to study the different voices alone (bass, chords, melody). Then it really depends on your level, experience and on how you play. Feel free to ask me anything specifically if you need. Facebook or Instagram for example (search my name/surname) Or on my site. Good luck!
Good job. This is really SPRING
Thanks a lot! :)
Agree.Great, great rendition. Love it!
Wow! Absolutely magnificent pedaling and tempo. It makes the piece actually sound like spring, which a lot of other recordings seem to neglect.
Thank you very much! :)

It is up there, probably really the best. Barenboim also has a good rendition.
Heard.
Great! i am going to pratice this as I love this melody. ❤
Honestly this doesn't feel spring-like at all. For me, this feels more nostalgic and heart warming. Thank you!
What a talented artist!! 👏
Lovely 'buoyant' playing. Bless you!

I love your piano playing of this piece by Mendelssohn.
So excellent performance like flying butterflies🦋🌷

May you teach us how to practice this piece more easily and effectively?? I really love this but seems too difficult for me.....thank you!!
To think that was inspired by Camberwell Green in SE London
a casual spring, if anything...
Cool performance! Should i pedal the grace notes?
Thanks, there are no rules but in my opinion there should be clearliness in harmony and for this reason I would suggest the change of pedal after grace notes when they are not part of harmony.
pianomarios ok thanks I was also using soft pedal in the grace notes.
Any tips for this song? I'm studying this piece right now.

I prefer using a longer pedal
You look like xiamonyc. Kidding aside, awesome playing.
