I can't get the fight to initiate; have seen others complaining about it, so hopefully it gets fixed quickly. Thank you for the video. Wish the fight could be done with all builds, really hate it when a game forces me to play the way they want me to. At least it isn't too expensive to respec. Watching the mechanics was very helpful, as were your comments on the fight. Might be worth trying the new grappling hook skill, for melee players, hmmm; that is their new thing. If it ever starts for me, I'll stay melee and try grappling hook, if it doesn't work, I'll go ranged.
Sadly you cant Grapple to the Boss. It will only work on the Shroud Hawks to get them within melee range I use it a few times during the Fight but it also drains Vital stamina needed for the Gliding.
@@crystalentitygaming Wow, that is total suckage, lol Thank you so much for saving me the time and frustration. Would really like to get this done, but might wait for them to balance this; seems almost impossible solo. Mine won't start any way, so I have to wait for them to fix at least that. Have an awesome week.
This fight is insane. Just tried (unsuccessfully) 3x and wiped within 1 min. Melee build, solo attempt...guess I'll have to wait until next biome and level cap is released.
Ya I tried for 4hrs solo melee build with no success we just can’t do enough stun damage to bring him down. If there was more than 1 phase we could use to raise his stun bar it would be better.
@@DanieliMolar Sadly you cannot Grapple to him only the Shroud Hawks when they come around. Issue is it takes away Vital Stamina needed for Gliding as well
@@cplwallander That is really good to Know Have not done a caster Build so the best I could figure was playing Dodge ball. Having the Option to go Caster is nice But that still leaves Melee Builds kicking rocks lol.
@ jump on back. Let magic fire aoe against fell enemies kill Jim. EZPZ. (Note: you cannot jump on the back of the dragon.) This is the first boss where soloing feels insanely time consuming and difficult. Plus if you get hit by its fire breath you’re likely to die if you don’t have a ton of potions to spam.
The blue Ball is the Water Aura from the Healer skill Tree I custom built a Palidan Build that outside this Boss fight is really hard to kill. As it heals Via water Aura and dealing Crit dmg in Combat.
This fight is one of the most egregious examples of lazy game design. The devs wanted to give the players an epic fight but they clearly didn't know how to do it, so they envisaged a fight that is built around the idea of making impossible for the player to fight in a smart way. There are no meaningful real strategies because there are no ways to make use of the environment to the player's advantage. You have to just endure the damage you will inevitably take (which by the way is impossible). This makes the fight boring and uninspired and basically impossible for solo melee players. There are no meaningful mechanics because there is no way of avoiding some of the dragon's attacks. The straight, rotating beam can be dodged by jumping. The 180 degree sloped beam can be avoided by hugging the cliff on the inside of the ring. But the tracking spot-like sloped beam cannot be avoided. You can try to run away from it, but in so doing you will quickly run out of stamina. On top of that, in falling down the boss generates collisions and can push the player off the cliff into the Deadly Shroud. I spent a couple of minutes dodging his attacks, parrying the projectiles and pelting it with stun arrows just to be kicked off the cliff when he landed. I spent the entire damage window trying to jump back onto the ring shaped rock in order to damage it. And then, just to add salt to the wound, when the boss exits the stun after being knocked down you get the adds, screwing any chances of surviving for solo players. It doesn't even feel like the developers properly playtested this fight before releasing the new content. Because the issues are so glaring and evident that any kind of playtesting would have brought them to their attention.
I felt the Same way. As a melee player it was Brutal I spent the last few days respecing my Toon with a design the catered to All content Including this Fight. I will be uploading that build video in a day or so. As I am really happy with how it Turned out. It does require some Shroud root Farming but I handicapped the Build -4 Points as they are not open till after you down the dragon. The Build was able to Solo the Dragon as well. I need to Farm him some more to figure out his Drop pattern when he gets Stunned As he falls on you or the other side of the ring from you.

Casters should use the infinite lighting spell it fills his stun bar alot
This archer in the video is awesome! ;) :D
How's your Back....lol You carried that Stun bar
They do not make it easy to solo

mage build and fire balls don't need to stun him

Casters can parry as well, plus they can shoot spells from range. It will barely hurt him, as his resistances are insane, but it’s something.
Ya someone said as caster using fireball skill it can be done. Solo still not easy to do though.
