After this game, I've been really worried about the future of the series' gameplay. Seeing how much they can improve this game in just a year gives me so much hope.

I absolutely LOVED this update man. Shows you how much the team has improved.. Not only that but more teams are working on kingdom hearts games from now on which is really exciting for the future of the franchise. (alongside the versus xiii saga that nomura is planning lul)

I can only hope. But what prevents me from having faith is that a lot of these "improvements" are just taking cues from the quality work that was done a decade and a half ago. Work that was always there, but they just chose not to re-implement and improve it until now. No guarantee that they'll maintain *this* standard of gameplay in favor of new experimentation.
Also Sora doesn’t have a delay in the air after a finisher he can literally go back into a combo within seconds. This is the best update they’ve done it feels like 2FM meets DMC4/5 they reworked the whole engine and also adjusted the Frame rate and loading is much faster than before. This game was such a chore to play before this update game I don’t blame anyone for uninstalling it. Shame that the story is still the worst of the main three games.
And this is just the start of what they added.....The ReMind DLC makes this even more hype. I'd be so bold as to say that KH3:RM might have overtaken KH2:FM at this point....

I like how you can still use Magic Flash while have any other ability equipped. Only works when you're surrounded by enemies but I seen someone do it a certain way so I guess it's a certain button you have to press or combo you have to go into

my only problem with double form is that it doesnt have the cool idle and run animations. When you went into valor form sora would go into this cool battle stance. stuff like that I miss.
Yeah I agree. I think they were going more for the idea that Sora is channeling Roxas and his style, but Valor had so much flair and character to it. At least he learned how to Guard while dual wielding.

You mean you're not gonna experience Xehanort new voice? Rutger Hauer passed away in July before he could record any new scenes and had to be replaced, but his original performance is still in the base game, as you can see. Also, his new actor is Christopher Lloyd.
I beat this game at launch and don't really remember what it looks like during the CG cutscenes. You should post a comparison video. If you got any free slots coming up or need any video ideas. I do agree that the current cutscenes look really good but I can't call up what they used to look like.
I need someone to help me out, I was playing today on Critical mode and I played as Aqua in the main story (vanitas fight) and when i pressed shield the shield came out but only the first frame and then it was gone but aqua was still making the shield posing and vanitas could hit me anyway, its like the shield went out before aqua finsh the animation... its a new bug?
Now if the make it so that you can continue an aerial combo on a ground enemy instead of snapping to the ground automatically, it's basically 2FM level.
It was always playable, just frustrating. But now it has skyrocketed in my personal ranking. It's not below KH2 anymore. They are more equal than expected tbh..

@@mohamedab9033 The artsyle change is the culprit. Back in the old days they had more vibrant colors and was easier to distinguish what was what. They changed it so much so it can look up to date for current gen consoles. But if you take away gameplay in exchange for mediocre graphics then I don't want it. Square could have done better.
I think the main problem was the bloom effects used in certain areas (Twilight Town) pre patch. Which is odd, because Pirates, the epilogue and Yozora don't have these issues imo. That being said, the CGI needed improvement, but it wasn't the worst thing ever either.
Sora would repeat the same downward aerial slash over and over again slowly in the combo it was agonizing, every finisher was slow and sluggish with no cancel window until the end lag, Sora had a bit of a lunge but no real good mid range combo attacks so extending your combos you're basically forced to airstep (imo airstep should mostly be used for long range, its no substitute for not having mid range attacks), 3 of the new 6 abilities are from KH2FM but its not some blind KH2FM need, the reason people like KH2FM combos is because they are fast, snappy, responsive, and feel powerful. 2 of the new abilities, Radial Blaster and Last Charge, are not from KH2FM and I love them so much because they follow the same fast, fluid, snappy philosophy.
What happend with the video reaction of E3 regarding Nomura's effort with FFVII remake compared to KH3? Did you change your mind? I personally thought it had genuine and plausible concern.
The fact that the new abilities make the KH3 original abilities so irrelevant is hilarious. I couldn't imagine fighting the superbosses without them. I'm really ecstatic that the team is in fact capable of making fast, fluid combos when responding to critiques and can't wait for their next game with all of this known from the get-go. They've really come a long way :' ). Aerial Dive is the absolute MVP new ability!!! Falling Slash can go fall off a cliff! XDDD
Btw its possible that the key-battle planner worked together with nomura and the KH3 staff to make the remind dlc. The dev teams have already merged for a while now so maybe thats why the game looks optimized now? Btw I still would've loved to have bosses that ACTUALLY STAGGER and dont just break out of my combos(hinting towards bad data bosses in remind)
The bosses do stagger and only break out of your combos just like in 2fm with the revenge value (though it works a bit differently now). If anything, the retaliation attacks they do now are more fair than in 2fm.

And some bosses are so bad that they even break out of your combos. Osaka team took everything people complained about in KHBBS and put it inside KH3-remind. Spam dodge,spam block,and eventually you will win. I mean look at the xion fights. There is not a single move from xion that is not block-able. None of the bosses are fair. Some bosses just are a little less unfair than others. In KH2 bosses AND players have super armor on their attacks,and you were actually equal in your capabilities. But KH3 gives bosses a bonus by giving them super short ending lag(something player hated in KH3s,BBS & DDDs controls) AND they cant be interrupted while attacking. Meanwhile you,the player,have lots of ending lag in comparison and have absolutely 0 super-armor. Not even in your finishers. You only have focus-attacks and focus-flowmotion for I-frames and thats about it.
Fucking love this update man finally feels so good to have fluid combos with sora again, although kh2 is still superior this game definitely has improved glad that they listened to the criticism
So I've been playing kh2fm with a friend and kh3 by myself and honestly I prefer a lot of things about kh3 especially how many options you have in the air and the ability to easily gaurd or dodge cancel out of most things. Kh2 is still more fluid overall but this update made it more hard for me to choose which gameplay style I like more.
I swear I felt sora felt like straight up GARBAGE until the updates fixed most of the technical problems with him. Now I find him extremely fun to play and really enjoy playing kh3
It kinda sucks you don’t get these abilities till the end of the game in the main story... hope they’re implemented in through out the game if a next update or patch releases.

It's not that Sora's shoes light up during Flash Step, it's that his sudden movement generates a spark on the ground he left.

Man i love those combos. They are sexy as hell and feel so powerful. I was using them with the ultima-weapon and just felt like a total badass
To be fair Magic Flash does have better range. It helps you close in on enemies that backstep at the last second.

Yes they do! But you can only get them after completing the game and/or loading a completed save file and you also get them when starting a NG+ run.

Sounds like a bug. Never happened to me while playing as Aqua in Remind but I haven't tried the Vanitas fight again

So I've been playing kh2fm with a friend and kh3 by myself and honestly I prefer a lot of things about kh3 especially how many options you have in the air and the ability to easily gaurd or dodge cancel out of most things. Kh2 is still more fluid overall but this update made it more hard for me to choose which gameplay style I like more.

With ReMind and this update, KH3 is better than KH2 now.
I swear I felt sora felt like straight up GARBAGE until the updates fixed most of the technical problems with him. Now I find him extremely fun to play and really enjoy playing kh3
It kinda sucks you don’t get these abilities till the end of the game in the main story... hope they’re implemented in through out the game if a next update or patch releases.
