One of my favorite bosses all time (over 20 years later!) and boss soundtracks too--I normally don't like Sega Genesis music, but somehow this is awesome!
I've been a video gamer for over twenty years. Seeing Seven Force for the first time still has to be one of the most jaw-dropping gaming moments I've ever had. What's just as great as the boss is the ultra-long description of him beforehand: "Urchin Force (etc)". What a build-up.

There were many that came close, but few that were designed and executed as well as this. One of the most intense and rewarding fights in gaming when I was a kid. New game developers could learn something by watching this boss fight. Also, lol at 77777 score after beating the boss.

@LoudMan01 Green & Blue (the weapon combination otherwise known as Chaser & Lightning) is useless in Hard and Expert modes. This combo can target unimportant targets on occasion, and does LESS damage in those two difficulties. There's an FAQ on GameFAQs that mentions this.
That was great! As another fan of the game, whoever played that must of spent a lot of time playing through that to know the patterns and anything else that could occur. And that, IMO, is what I consider to be true "hardcore" gaming.
On the ground it's between the 4'th number of the boss' life counter and the circle that Gun Force pivots on. Stand there and all the shots will hit the ground to your right.
This fight was one of the many things I remember from this game it was the first time I had to fight seven bosses. It taught me to always expect more bosses in games :). (This was back when I just started playing video games)
The way you beat crab force kinda made me lol i was waiting the entire video to see you ace that part with uber skill but didnt know lazer could destroy his projectiles XD
in almost every treasure game there is a seven force robot and because of this i like to pretend that dynamite headdy has a seven force battle and in that imaginary boss fight of mine maruyama would be controlling the seven force robot
@Pro21xx There's actually a safespot right below the gun; it's hard to find, but when you get the hang of where exactly it is, it becomes the easiest form. For me the hardest form is stupid Crab Force XD
In two-player mode, we always try to have to have both as a one-two punch. Anything that the Seeker Laser doesn't work against, we use the Beam Sword. Plus, the beam sword is really good for defense.
This game was gave an influence to many action games. Since 1992 in Japan, has appeared in the Japanese action games that has a lot of boss characters of the many joint type. Tresure's main developer came from KONAMI Ltd.
I don't know if this works in expert mode, but I saw some guys in normal mode position themselves directly below the gun form, and they avoided everything it fired at them! I hope this helps!
@Dagreat Part of what makes this fight so epic is the fact that it's only level 2. Only Treasure is insane enough to throw a fight this massive at you so early in the game.

You just can grab homing+laser and you can focus on dodgin attacks. Just holding fire button makes a tiny square of lasers to dance onto enemy, so you can forget about aiming. It's basically a timed battle this way.
@OoShinkooO It's actually a nice action platformer game to run through. Great for when you're bored, or when you want a collaborative run-and-gun game to play with a friend. It's just that on higher difficulty the enemies take less damage, requiring more mental endurance on your part.
This game was beyond its time if you ask me. I loved it My fave weapon was the laser with the homing shot. Oh and at the part with the gun, you could have just stayed under him and shot up. because if he tries to shoot you, he always misses. LOLOL anyways nice post and you have great skills. Great job on that boss! only thing i can tell you is that the bullets from the Gun force can be blocked by the laser sword. so it's possible to simply stand in front of the boss.
Nice one! 2 hints for you: 1)when caterpillar goes straight to you - may not jump to second wall, you just can hide in the upper left corner (i made it) 2)with pistol - you may just stand right down or up on the pistols level - just shoot there don't even move! (it's just to safe you fingers stamina and nervs) (but anyway it looks best) Better then my game.. sometime i make a mistakes in Tiger lasers (get hit there) Other things i played almost like you. But now i don't play at all :((
Came here long before ACESpark's rendition. Also fought this guy on Expert Mode myself. Fixed Shot with *Chaser Fireball* (Fire + Chaser) has a slightly easier time dealing with all seven forms, unlike Free Shot with *Lightning Sabre* (Fire + Lightning), but both are able to destroy Crab Force's projectiles with ease, if you can last long enough to reach that boss.
Also, have you ever watched the Japanese show, "Game Center CX", episode 181? In it, there's some interesting names for the weapon combinations. Two that I remember are my favourites: 1. *Lonely Soul Fire* (Fire + Chaser). 2. *Harakiri Laser* (Fire + Lightning). They're both quite apt names, too.
How do I purchase GunStar Heroes for Wii. I tried everything. Like ordering at videogame stores and looking up on shopping web sites. But it's like the GunStar Heroes game for Wii does'nt exist.
You know if u stay below the gun so that it has to aim directly down at you the bullets wont hurt at all but u have to be in a certain place below the gun or it might hurt u a bit
seven force was the hardest stage of this game for me and my friend... lol we are kinda bad though, im puting some gunstar heroes vids up tommorrow so stay tuned

The fluid motion of the Runner was something that had not been seen on either the Genesis or the SNES at that time.

Yep, Back then they made games for men. Back when our hands used to bleed from having epic battles with random killer robots... or contra.

@LynkxMan You didn't have to be close to enemies at all... the laser flies around the screen killing everything without the player even having to aim.
this boss isnt necessarily difficult, but you did a no hit run...with the freaking lightsaber

I came here after I saw raocow fight the Chelsea and the Seven Devils version of this. I am not disappoint at the reference.
Has to be one of the best genesis tracks ever, no to mention the game. Treasure has probably the highest quality games I've ever played.
I only use savestates or other tools when they're mentioned in the video description. Anything else is just normal gameplay.
I love this game ever since I was like 5 or 6 years old! My favorite bosses are Urchan Force, Blaster Force, and Eagle Force.

For the gun, dont you just have to sit right under it, b/c the barrel's too long to shoot you? I do that all the time
