Curious about anything double ended tunisian. I bought the medium set of Knit pals, 4-6mm I believe--chose the 10" but I do use interchangeable hooks for Tunisian (and mosaic with Tunisian). bought Knitter's Pride bamboo first and filled in some sizes with the KP Gingers (wood). I wanted a second set of hooks for same cables (to do DE Tunisian) , I bought a set of the KP Gingers. (Which I love). Have a set of color coded cables and one swivel cable. But--for swatches, testing a stitch, etc--I do really like the double ended hooks. I do wish Knit Pals would make the sizes on the hooks more apparent--a couple are readable, others not--and I hate that I ended up using a Sharpie to put the size on them--sort of. Talking about the length of the cables--there are quite short ones available which is what I use for smaller projects that need a bit more than the 10" DE hook.
Thank you! Oh no! :( There were a few suggestions for interchangeable sets you could use as double-sided (I want to say in this video) in the comments, and I believe there were acrylic and metal options. I’ll see if I can find some of the comments with recommendations and forward them to you.
I’d go for a short-length, double-ended set for a more versatile hook set to work both TC and crochet sock patterns. For lighter yarns, find a set with hook sizes 2.5 to 4 mm.
Provided that you can fit all of your stitches on the hook, and that you cover one end (to keep the stitches from falling off the back), then yes! Wrapping a large rubber band at one end, or even a bead with a twist tie, will keep the stitches from falling off the end of the hook you are not using.
Oh! I get you! (I think) As in, chain the width of the blanket, cast on with one end, then work the return pass with the other end as you go? Heck yeah!! Omg, that’d be so cool!! You’ll need two skeins though (one for each end) so you don’t end up with floating bits (unless that’s the look you’re going for? Something like a bamboo stitch is what I’m imagining it would look like). 🤔 I’m not seeing a way to create a traditional TC stitch (I’m taking KS or TS, here), since you’d basically be casting on in every row if you’re closing the RP as you go, BUT I think it’ll still look awesome! I love this idea!
@Mode Bespoke yes! That's exactly what I was thinking! Thank you for your help. That's a good point about working the RP at the same time. I will play around with it and see what happens. I just hate dealing with cords, so I thought this might be a way to ditch them. No worries about the email, I just wasn't sure which mode you were more likely to see.
Oooh could we get a demonstration on how to use these? Both the straight ones and corded ones? I kinda wanna try Tunisian in the round but I am afraid 😬
@@ModeBespoke I use two kinds Bamboo is Chiaogoo interchangeable and wood is Vickie Howell which are made by Knitter Pride, I could not resist the colors.
Yes, we DO want to hear you gush about the adorable 2mm hook!!! 👏 👏 Thank you for this video I learned so much!!
😂 well, thank you! 😊
Great information thank you I just bought some double ended hooks so I can do some of your patterns.
How exciting! Happy crocheting!!! :)
I'd like to hear about double ended tunisian circular hooks and how to use them. Thank you.
Will do!

So mucb great info!! Thank you for sharing!!
Excellent review! Too bad wood hooks actually hurt my hands. I really need some longer double ended hooks that have the same hook size on each end. 😅
Thank you! Oh no! :(

I get incredible drag on my woods. Any advice?
Light sanding and some oil. Let it soak into the hook overnight and wipe off the excess the next day.
@@ModeBespoke thank you for the advice and QUICK response!❤️
Thanks for the review 😄
Really getting into making socks with #1 and #2 yarns
What set would you recommend
I’m guessing the first set

Can a double ended hook be used on a flat one color project, like a blanket, for example?

@Mode Bespoke I was thinking more like to put a few stitches on the hook and work a few off with the other end for the whole width of the blanket?

Oh and also, I saw your email, but we’ve got a convo going here already. Just wanted to let you know I received it :)

Very informative! I recently bought some Tunisian hooks from KnitPal!

I’ll add it to the list. Thanks for the suggestion! 😊
Good review, but I can only work with Bamboo or wood TC interchangeable hooks. I tried the straight ones, but that hurts my hand after.
Wood for the save! 🙌🏻
What interchangeable hooks do you use?

I’ll have to check them out 🤔 Thank you!!
