i appreciate the way you took your time explaining and demonstrating every step. I had read that the tweeters were so difficult to replace that it wasn't worth the effort but after seeing this video it looks like it can be accomplished more easily than I was expecting.
Hi carter, great video. I can't wait till I remove my factory tweeters. I'm hoping the new tweeters will make my stereo even sound better. I also have a slight hiss out of my left tweeter when the radio is on. Always love the impala videos! Take care.
after I seen a couple of your videos...I took out my bose speakers in my impala.....smh...totally cheap Paper made speakers...replace them with kickers....what a difference....thanks
What did you do with the amplifier? I have a after market deck with everything else stock. I already bought speakers and a amp..but haven't made the leap to change it all. I have done complete installs before..but not with a system that had bose stuff to be swapped out
My LT just had the standard radio. Generally if you are going to install aftermarket, and you have the bose, you will need to remove and use a bypass harness for the bose amp, however you could just re-run all new thicker wires from your amp to speakers.
The Carter Hour Do you no about the big3 upgrade? I install this to my 2011 impala LTZ and now I get the Battery saver active message on my cluster....but I'm still getting 14vplus when I test the charging system.....any clue.....Thanks
Sounds like you may have disconnected your battery sense loop. Its a plastic piece that surrounds your negative battery cable. That detects the voltage at all times. I would check there and see if it got disconnected.
Hey Carter thanks for the video request very nice an detailed video! I'm probably going to be looking into a good set of component speakers later this month!
Really liked this video! Ive heard removing and replacing the tweeters was challenging. Your directions were clear and concise. Very easy job! If you could do a video on removing the front and back bumper covers for an 06+ impala.
Thanks for the comment, I try to do my best when explaining on video. Unfortunately I don't have my 2012 Impala anymore. Though I am sure it's pretty simple to remove bumper covers. I haven't done one on one of these to know but it seems straight forward. Cheers :)
+The Carter Hour I like your setup. I am curious, you listed your speaker specs but do you happen to have the model of those tweeters or can you direct me on where you bought them?? I like the fit and want to get something exactly like that.
Joe, you probably could use really any standard sized tweeter. It should fit, however I had the Infinity Primus 6 3/4 Component Setup. If you go to infinity's website, it should tell you what size they are...cheers friend and thanks for stopping by.
Wow that looked easier than I thought it would be. Thank you much! do you have a video by any chance on installing that stereo (shown in this video) to the Impala?
For me the stock speakers on my 08 3.9 LT luxury package sound ok. I'm curious as to what speakers you did. I like a mixture of country and bands like The Fray. Considering upgrading to kicker. But I want to keep the factory radio. I already have a Bluetooth kit that over rides XM. I use that and XM all the time.
Mb Quartz might be what you are looking for. They have a wide Frequency spectrum. I would pair it with a nice amp and possibly a sub too. You can keep your factory radio, and use a device that will correct the signals all without messing up your factory wiring. I am assuming you have the Bose System? Sorry it took me so long to get back, RUclips never notifies me anymore of any messages.
🗣THANKS! BUT QUESTION IS...WHY DO I HAVE TO GO DOWN THERE? CANT I JUST SWAP THE TWEETERS OUT FROM THE PILLARS & KEEP IT MOVING?🤔

Good video bro...really helped out 🤜🏾🤛🏻
Does anyone know what size are the stock tweeters?? Please let me know i highly appreciate it!!
Did you ever find out?
@@mallorycainjr.1921 from what I have put together on crutchfield, its a 1in tweeter
Do you need a wiring harness when swapping out the tweeters???? I know for the 6.5 and 6x9s you do but was unsure about tweeters.
No.
What size is the factory tweeter ?
So what were the Tweeters used. I need to replace mine.
I know it’s an old video but instead of hot glue could one just use a strong tape?
Upgraded my 06 w/ your help - thanks
Is this the only place you can install tweeters?

Can you post a video of your setup and I can try to diagnose whats going on with yours?

MR Marcus Your very welcome, glad that my video helped you get the sound you were looking for. Cheers...

@@TheCarterHour Do you know what size are the stock tweeters?? Please let me know i highly appreciate it!!
@@user-qc3ki3nf4s I would say standard size. I am not quite sure, don’t remember.

Your very welcome, glad I could help. Thanks for the request.
What's the rope inside the a pillars? I can't figure it out
That is for the side curtain air bag I believe.
The Carter Hour thanks I finally figured it out. I looked up a replacement airbag and seen the rope

Is theyer a speaker wire harness for that tweeter?
Yes, there are pull out panels on both ends of the dash, and from inside there you will find the tweeter harness.

Take out the back seat and you'll find access to the rear deck
Can you show where your crossover is mounted?
I no longer have the car, but I placed the crossover in the door with double stick tape.
what size stereo is that I want to replace my factory radio ?
Double Din!
Hey man what's a after market speaker for the doors
Do you mean size or brand?

The Carter Hour Yes Bose. It's starting to loose its sound quality. Don't know if that's the correct wording. But when it was new I loved it.
I also do like alpine. My friend has a hard rock Jeep Wrangler with that system.
How are you I want to inquire about filming Will Video for removing rear speakers or you busy
