great tips, thank you! about to start mine tonight. Did you find you had to remove the flywheel? Thinking it may be required in order to access and pull out the electric starter motor bushing?
basically disconnecting everything as if you were going to remove the engine, but might save on a couple wire connectors and cluch line ? I'll probably try this route first. thanks again.
btw, my starter lasted ~550 hrs. seems pretty decent.

Yeah I left my flywheel in and used various picks and flat edges to get the bushing out. It’s almost impossible to not gouge it but if you’re careful you can file it smooth (not tear the o-rings) and reuse it. As long as it’s round to help center the starter.
I believe I disconnected everything except the clutch slave just to make sure nothing pinched.
550 hours is great! I’m at about 260. One my brushes were shot but I think with new brushes and bearings it can be easily reused!

@@SalSpaceKhan awesome thank you! While I've got a new starter on it's way I'm planning to take the broken starter to a local shop to see how much they'd charge to repair. I'm assuming it'll be more than the cost of a new one but I'm curious to find out.

@@Jrod_FPV Don’t be afraid to take it apart and inspect it yourself. If it’s just a matter of new brushes and bearings you can definitely do that with the help of some RUclips videos. If the commutator needs to be cleaned, that might take a little machining.
