First view of one of the land sites under construction, likely to be part of the bid for the Olympic 2036 games in Gujarat. Brijesh Doshi on ground zero shows the preparation based on the first draft of the master plan prepared and as per source from the Gujarat govt got approval also from the centre. There are 4 sites around Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad have been identified. A special purpose vehicle formed by the name of Gujarat Olympics Planning and Infrastructure Corporation Limited. Though any official announcement is yet to be made by the Gujarat govt.

Ahemdabad is the best choice. As it will be in between Mumbai and Delhi. stable govt, state have appetite for big infrastructure. 3-4 international airport in 500 km (Mumbai, surat, vadodra and might be Indore at that time).
Only problem more vegetarian people and no liquor and party culture. But that’s only state which can deliver massive infrastructure in deadline time due to same stable govt.
Delhi hard to provide security.
Maharastra lost the day they delayed the bullet train project. Chandigarh (but political change in 5 yrs kill the project). Bhubaneswar can but it lacks the scale and connectivity is the issue.

Gujarat is the Gulf state of India. It's India's largest trade zone, where it connects with Gulf, Europe and Russia. Tamil Nadu also has good prospects but they need to bring a BJP government that is serious about such things.

It's natural geographic location makes it the most desired investment location. It also has the most ports due to having the longest coastline. As for Olympics, there were all these decades to host them in various cities. Why even bring that up now when Gujarat is making a bid? Why didn't Delhi make its own bid, why wait until someone else is doing it and then complain? That sounds like pulling others down! Not good! Any city can make a bid once they've prepared the facilities and have their finances in order. Olympics is every 4 years, Delhi can try for any other year. The US has hosted several Olympics in different cities. There is no limit! And it doesn't matter how many Olympians come from the area. Olympics has been held in cities like Atlanta, Los Angeles, Rio, etc. that aren't known for athletes. Economics is what determines it.
