    During the applause after receiving the Medal of Honor you can see, that he dosen't give a shit about that medal but just would want to have his friends and comerads back. What a man and warrior. just did what he thought necessary to save as much of his men possibly.

    For some of us who were kids that saw many heroic military actions as "glorious", it wouldn't be hard to understand how the look of obvious pain and burden of that man in the chair (SSgt Romesha) shows, would look back, wishing that they would never wish the burdens that come with such glory to be bestowed on any other human being. Though deserving of the highest award, comes with a price that cannot be paid, to him. Although it's easy for me to say that SSgt Romesha is a hero, no matter how many people say it, or how we say it, this man will live the rest of his life believing that he is undeserving, rather wishing the award be given to his brothers who are no longer with us.

    What I can't understand is why anyone would ever dislike this, other than being a troll and wanting be one of the 11 that disliked this video. I, myself, am a veteran and know that when the shit hits the fan that the only thing that matters is those standing next to you. I wish I could put into words how those people next to you are closer to you than your own blood family, or how you know they would give their lives to save yours, and vice versa. I wish I could put into words the closeness that pulls people together from different walks of life. People you don't necessarily agree with but through your interactions with them you would give your life to protect, even if you feel they are stupid. You can't understand unless you have been through it. Nothing can put it into words, but then it isn't for everyone else. It is for those next to you.

      You're an Idiot... First, your grammar is awful. Second, it's medals* not metals. Third, the Medal of Honor is definitely a sacred honor... It offers a special pension pay, 10% increase in retired pay, and a child of a recipient will be instantly admitted to any United States Military Academy if qualified. Many other medals are worthless, but this can not be said about the MoH. Don't talk shit unless you know what you're talking about.

    • @NOLAgenX
      @NOLAgenX 3 года назад

      @Roger Clemons you’re an idiot. There is no motivation to get a Medal of Honor. Almost everyone to whom it is awarded gets it posthumously. Living awardees are rare, because it requires complete lack of concern for one’s own life and giving all for your comrades in arms. Most soldiers, btw don’t give a squat about any award they get.
