The Queen has arrived at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire for the start of her summer holidays.
Her Majesty was greeted by The Royal Regiment of Scotland and was reunited with the regiment’s mascot - a Shetland pony named Cpl Cruachan IV.

Contrary to popular belief, the Scots are proud and respectful of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
With a few exceptions, literally all the people behind the wall or fence were taking photos! You don’t expect the military on parade to have done so

I am an American but admire and respect this amazing woman. I'm proud to say that I recently discovered through DNA that I'm mostly Scottish and English. I've always felt a certain pull to both Scotland and England and now know why.

Of course, the Queen is always respectful, gracious and unflappable. I hope he was not mortified. You'd think she'd get sick of this kind of stuff, but she must enjoy it. She certainly has made it look like she enjoys it for 69 years. I don't care how well schooled you are in how to be a constitutional monarch, you can't fake it for 25,387 consecutive days covering far more official engagements than that. She is the genuine article. How many of us are willing to continue doing our jobs for 69 years and almost never make a mistake in them despite being scrutinized by thousands and millions of people every time we so much as stick our heads out the window? Some may think her position should be deleted, but as long as it exists in its current job description, there is no one who does it better or possibly has ever done it better.

I personally do feel blessed, I've always loved the Queen, I remember her coronation very well, she looked so beautiful, I was 9 yrs old. I'm proud of the fact we still have a monarchy and as far as I'm concerned she has never put a foot wrong. I know that can't be said for one or two, maybe three, younger members of the R F but the Queen in my view is a legend.
