I have a suggestion, take all your bloopers and add them as a blooper reel at the end of each video, then the best bloopers of the year, love your videos.keep it up!!!
It’s funny how you said you were glad it was authentic and they didn’t put pineapple in it because Al pastor tacos traditionally have pineapple added to it.
@@AmandaFelixEats y'all are so welcome!! My family and I are flying out there mid April and thanks to y'all I have so many scrumptious things I'm going to try. 💕
My wife and I have been watching your channel for the past month now and just really like your content. Thanks and keep up the good work. We’re actually heading out there next week for almost a week and will be trying some of the places you’ve talked about. Thanks for the suggestions!
We arrived at the North Shore this afternoon, and after walking to the beach from our rental to spend a half hour there, we returned to the house to review this video, which I had watched several weeks ago. Now that we're here, I needed a refresher to take notes on the places you reviewed. We'll be hitting Haleiwa tomorrow. Giovanni's will be the first meal stop. Since we'll be staying on the North Shore for 5 days, we plan to sample every one of your recommendations. Thanks for making it so easy for us.
We head there today...and we tried all your suggestions...from giovanni’s to the snow puffy...great choice, delicious foods..just wanna add...steak quesadilla in surf and salsa is the best quesadilla ever...full of cheese...yummy...thanks for the suggestion
Totally loving your foody adventures. Tempted to make that trek to the North Shore. You are challenging us to step out of our comfort zone 😷 and support our local restaurants again ❤ Yum
OMG Amanda you are so right. We were in Hawaii months ago and we tried both plates at Giovannis. The garlic scampi was the same, very tasty, but the spicy sauce was different from what we remembered. Back in the day, it was really, really good. Tried it again and it was some kind of Tabasco tasting concoction. Not good at all and the Tabasco smell was so strong. And I like Tabasco btw! Anyhow thanks for the great video! You guys are becoming the premier local foodies for Hawaii on RUclips. :)
First congratulations on 3K subscribers. You guys are doing a great job. First as a local, I love the jump cut from Aiea to Schofield in a blink. Been to the shrimp truck and Paalaa Kai before so thumbs up to those places. Great find with the surf-n-salsa place. Recommend spending a day in Wahiawa from Dong Yang to Shige's to Kilani Bakery and their botanical gardens and beautiful cherry blossom trees. Keep it going gang!
I have been binge watching your videos for the past couple nights...all the way from Jacksonville FL. I miss home (grew up in Kalihi) and watching you eat all those delicious foods and desserts makes me sooo envious. 🤤 You both are funny and cute. Happy to subscribe. 😊
Definitely going to North shore now because of you guys! Love love love your review of the places you eat. Thank you for sharing your good experiences😊
As I was driving on our way to sharks cove, I saw Paalaa Bakery on my peripherals and made a sharp left turn to get into the bakery. My friends was like wtf then I was like Amanda and Felix recommends this bakery so we have to check it out and glad we did. We had the snow puffs, danish, turnovers, butter rolls, ensaymadas and 2 other pastry I can't remember. Everything was so good and we really enjoyed everything. That's how much you guys influenced our trip to Oahu. Again, Thank you.
if the visitors go visit Paalaa Kai Bakery, they also need to go next door to Paalaa Kai Store and buy their ready made spam musubi and fried chicken...ono !!! Good Yelp reviews for both places. Amanda and Felix took Kaukonahua Rd once they passed Wahiawa to get to Haleiwa and Waialua, which is a curvy 2 lane road..a LOT of deaths over the years as you will see by the markers left on the sides...if you want a more straighter way, go by way of Kamehameha Hwy.(still a two lane highway) to those spots mentioned. The snow puffies are like baklavas...creamy custard filling...think they have increased in price to almost $3 each--- you should try their malasadas there...already made, but surprisingly good !
Took ten mins for me to watch, start cracking up and subscribe while I start making plans to come back to Hawaii. You guys are the best, off to binge watch my way through your channel!
Loved it!!!! Thank you so much for this segment. Been wanting Snow Puffies but so awesome we can get lunch from Haleiwa Lunch truck too!!!! Really excited to try the Mexican food🤙🤙🤙
No flies at the Giovanni’s at HMart ... $15/plate - $1 more but you get clean tables/chairs, clean restrooms, air conditioned environment, and no bugs! Haleiwa, yes, I remember as a young kid some of the taro farmers in Hanalei used to send some bags of tare to Haleiwa because there used to be a poi mill somewhere there. My dad used to send his taro bags to Waiahole poi mill. I remember it being just a shack. Today along the roadside there is a restaurant; real tourist spot. Up the road is where the poi mill used to be. Next time I'm on Oahu I'm going to make it a point to visit Paalaa Kai bakery. I see that PhotoLukeHawaii drops by there once in awhile.

We tried Surf N Salsa today! We loved it so much. Thank you so much for recommending this amazing establishment. Definitely going back. Absolutely delicious. We ordered their carne asada fries, crunchy taco with steak, soft taco with shredded beef and both soft and crunchy fish tacos. So good! We also ordered their cucumber lemonade and horchata.

We just drove to north shore today for the weekend, we will go to kahuku tonight for dinner and will try the shrimp. We went to Ken fish for lunch and had ahi katsu, wish I could share a picture with you

Well, looks like our similarity streak ends here as I don't plan to go to the NS anytime soon. But nice to live vicariously through your video! Thanks for this post. Since the Pandemic I haven’t been out that way but now I gotta try the taco and snow puffies. I’ve never been to that bakery before.
Oh also, what Felix said about the Mexican place and how if they do tacos well, everything else is good. I was gonna say that about dim sum last time. It is said that if a dim sum place makes a great har gau, then everything else is good since har gau is probably the most popular dim sum item.
Amanda SAME! Sometimes when nothing sound good I get a side of rice, a side of beans, and maybe some tortillas. I'm also lucky to live in San Diego (the birthplace of Tacos El Gordo) where we got the good good Mexican Food
Aloha Amanda & Felix! Another great vlog. As for shrimp, I like them with the shell on (and I eat the shell/tail too!). Have you ever tried the garlic shrimp @ Ted's Bakery and/or Fumi's Kahuku Shrimp, I've heard that both of those places have good garlic shrimp (I've never tried them myself, only Giovanni's which was good). You both deserve the $$ support and will try to do that every so often when I'm able to, you both do so much for all of us here, I've learned about so many places to dine at that I would never have heard about if it weren't for the two of you! @Paula ... I tried the garlic shrimp at Ted’s ... they give you less shrimp and put Parmesan cheese on it so if you like Parmesan cheese, go for it. Giovanni’s is no ka oi!
Hi Amanda & Felix! We went to both delicious places today! The garlic shrimp was finger licking good but the spicy shrimp kicked my son’s taste buds. Line was long because it’s a Sunday. No paragliders flew over us while eating the snow puppies though!
Thanks for the great reviews! We are in Waikiki for vacation and decided to check out the eats in Haleiwa. We tried to go to Giovanni’s one day but the line was insane. We ended up getting Zane’s garlic shrimp instead. It was delicious! The next day- Cinco de Mayo- we went to Surf n’ Salsa. It was amazing! Can not recommend it enough!
Aloha Felix and Amanda, I live in Lakewood, CA and I enjoy your video's. Very good video of da onliouse shrimps and taco. But Brah...can you guys slow the driving to the north shore down a little bit?? I like enjoy the view. I miss Hawaii and the North shore.
Love the video! My family and I are taking a ride to the North Shore Friday. Can you (or anyone) tell me roughly where the beach was you guys stopped to watch the waves? Looks like a perfect spot.
Aloha Amanda and Felix, sitting at Surf N Salsa, just finished delicious crunchy tacos, steak and El Pastor and my wife had Sopes. It was outstanding!! We’re from N Cali, and we have plenty of great Mexican food, but this was so delicious!! Really enjoy your channel!! Barry
Ah, interesting to hear the part where you said Giovanni's marinates them overnight! We compared Giovanni's, Romy's, and a couple of others and thought Giovanni's had more flavor; now we know why. One visit we ate so much garlic shrimp, when I was getting oure group order I just ordered the Giovanni garlic hot dog for myself...and it was surprisingly good! That was about 12 years ago, so not sure it's the same dog they'd have today. I've always wondered how locals think of some of these famous spots always on tourist lists, so thank you for doing this one.
You should try Romy's Shrimp Truck. My husband and I like them better than Giovanni's because they actually grow their own shrimp. They are a shrimp farm as well. Their prawns, when they're available are incredible.
We would have loved to try the soda truck...but they weren’t open any of the days we were there. 😢 Please try the soda on a future video. Those tacos were amazing! And the place next door has amazing onion rings. The onions in Hawaii are the best I’ve tasted.
Hello you two loved the video!! My wife and I came to Oahu in 08/2019 and we can’t wait to get back to try that toco food truck !! I wanted to ask you have you ever been or tried a place on the leeward side of Oahu call.. now this is the name of it lol The beach house by 604? We end and the food was soooo good and we went a second time. And the views were amazing, we are planning to come back this December to try out your food truck from this video. We are going to kick back and check out all your content that we missed and yea we are subscribed now.
Tried Giovani’s today. May have to try another food truck. Once I peeled the shrimp it lost a lot of the flavor. I’m not a big garlic person but the flavor on the shell was really good. My wife had Surf and Salsa on your suggestion and thought it was one of the best Mexican plates she’s ever had. Glad y’all let us know where to go in the North Shore.

Deep voice gang!
@@AmandaFelixEats Just subscribed! Keep up the good work! My GF and I were thinking about starting a food blog as well.
Barry
Very friendly blog… i love it..🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Ah, interesting to hear the part where you said Giovanni's marinates them overnight!
500 likes? It’s over 1k now. Thanks for the tip guys. We lived in SoCal for 35 years and we sure miss some good Mexican eats.
Mahalo for watching🤙🏼Aloha!
@@AmandaFelixEats went there yesterday we’re going back for more Shrimp tacos 🌮 before we head back home. Thank you 🙏🏼
@@play4serve959 So glad you enjoyed it! Mahalo for the support!
Another foodie suggestion....Jerry's Pizza Mill in Waialua, close to North Shore Brew & Foam & Waialua Sugar Mill/North Shore Soap Factory...
Snow poppies looks good🤗
I’m coming over next week from Maui I’d love to go out on a food tour with you.
I agree Amanda I LOVE eatting at the beach🤗
Hello you two loved the video!! My wife and I came to Oahu in 08/2019 and we can’t wait to get back to try that toco food truck !! I wanted to ask you have you ever been or tried a place on the leeward side of Oahu call.. now this is the name of it lol
The beach house by 604? We end and the food was soooo good and we went a second time. And the views were amazing, we are planning to come back this December to try out your food truck from this video. We are going to kick back and check out all your content that we missed and yea we are subscribed now.
Awesome! Thank you for watching and subscribing🤙🏼 Welcome to our foodie ohana!
Those tacos were bomb! We're glad you guys enjoyed it! Mahalo for watching and supporting! 🤙
Next time you do North Shore please try The Smoking Boar and Coconut and also WickedHI!!
