Is it just me, or did this show just make the questions What, Who, Where, and Why epic? Four of the basic questions taught to elementary schoolers, and this show packed them with punch! I know that such is possible, but it's still awesome to witness! And, I should point out that, though the city is [relatively] intact, Cid utterly destroyed something! With a flex of his power, he annihilated Iris's confidence and pride. For a second, she owned her demise. Then, she opened her eyes, and realized she was alive merely because he willed it. That was just as devastating as his attack, if not more so.
go look back at ep1 number 666, 665, and 664 are in it! it was foretold from the beginning!

I am unsure if someone else commented about this earlier, but Cid can apparently move just shy of Mach 1. Which should show how much he holds himself back.

Maybe I was just so caught up in the battle wilhile reading the LN… but I never thought they were literally fighting all over the city 😂. Unless they changed it (which is a great change if it did indeed happen) I always thought they fought in the stadium the whole time
Also gotta love how they portrayed true dispair so beautifully from the voice acting to the faces.
They changed it from the light novel and its an welcoming change as they arent changing anything major and only really changes for pacing a visuals sake

lol I've never seen JoJo before but you were on point with that reference. Considering he was joking about whether he should go the villain route in the earlier episodes it's clear he was definitely going that way here. So doing something a villain did from a popular series definitely sounds like the shenanigans this series gets up to.
Btw, now that some days have passed people have found easter eggs with this episode that seem to definitely point to season 2. If you recall how all the opening's final image would change based on the current arc? Apparently the version that was aired in japan had one of those images that showed the setting for the first arc of volume 3.
Furthermore, apparently some nerds figured out that the quick scene with Eta messing with the morse code machine, that if you actually decode what she was inputting, it translates to "to be continued".
Oh shit I thought we skipped the opening this episode? Also that's dope about the morse code, I never would've picked up on that. Season 2 announcement this week probably then
@@DefinitivelyZach Yea I don't know whether the japanese version had the opening but the image was posted on the eminence in shadow reddit a few days ago showing a city with the sky tinted red with the red moon.
Either way between the morse code "to be continued" drop, cid saying next time at the end, then whatever this announcement is on the same day the episodes were airing, it would seem wierd for it not to be some kind of announcement for a 2nd season imo.
I doubt it's merchandise sales, a game is already out, volume 5 just released so it's early to announce volume 6. Manga is already out. I don't know what else it could be lol.

If you can find the spot for it, I recommend grabbing that Loki clip of him saying, "You had one job. Just the one!" That little slip in Episode 8 where the guy forgets if it was "Shadow Garden" or "Shadow Guardian" applies.

Watching a bunch of these reactions back to back while waiting for more episodes for season 2, I'm a little confused that almost every reactor I've seen (like 7 or 8 people) all seem to think Cid/Shadow didn't actually release his atomic attack.
Like hello? I can't be the only one to notice the very heavy, very dark and thus very thick rain clouds being blasted out of existence right? At the very least we all heard the explosion? I'm not hallucinating, right?
I'd always assumed that Iris was gasping at the suddenly clear sky caused by Shadow pulling a Saitama move by shooting his atomic blast upward from how the scene was framed, or am I just crazy?
I feel sorry for Rose. Had they told her what would happen, she would have never chosen Shadow Garden. She would have never chosen to lose Cid. It gives me some peace knowing she will eventually leave and hope for Cid again, and I hope they wind up together, even if that is unlikely.

For me that,as my first reaction to it,was King Crimson's BRR sound effect(When Polnareff was counting his drops of blood to see when time is being skipped.That sound effect specifically)

So,yeah.For me that moment was and still is King Crimson going BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR but based on someone from the outside.
I don't know why but I always found King Crimson's ability to be far scarier.
Basically him skipping time and appearing behind you to give that false sense of security that you can avoid him.
Imagine King Crimson's flaw would be the BRRR sound effect (basically people hearing it and knowing that time was skipped,would be funny and scary at the same time)

I just read the light novel.
Season 2 is gonna have a bloodborne arc, betrayal, a wedding and a final surprise.
Alpha imo might be stronger than her supposed aunt Beatrix, she is second strongest next to Cid. Shes also the supposed chosen legendary hero.

That was chapter 26 of the manga but Id recommend reading the light novel instead if you are up to that cuz it is much better
Plus the light novel covers the entire story thus far while the manga does not

@ST8V8N I disagree, Beta has things she isn't good at too. IMO the real jack of all trades is Alpha. Meanwhile, the real goal oriented person would be Gamma or Zeta, or even Epsilon.
My favourite is Gamma, season 2 will probably show you why.
