I’m so happy to know I’m not the only one currently struggling with which size to use! I am currently in a personal size but the Franklin Covey classic size is calling my name. Portability is the only the thing that is holding me back. What to do? What to do?!
Yes, I feel the same way... my theory was that if the planner is smaller (more portable) then I may be more likely to use it. Not sure this is true. But yes I've waffled quite a bit. The other thing to consider is if you like to layout a month, even across two pages, the personal size can get a bit cramped for writing in stuff in the days.
Nice clear video and to the point. Thank you! Incidentally, I never had seen someone adapt the holes with a slit before -- very familiar with TUL, Arc, Levenger, and Atoma disc-bound tech, but your adaptation to the ring bound system is pretty neat. Not sure I'd be willing to invest the time in cutting the little slits on a bunch of pages but the proof of concept is interesting.
All these reasons are the same for me. I was so excited to use my personal and LOVE planning in it and it’s portability BUT I need a half letter/A5 size. I’m still going to use my personal for on the go but I only wanted to use one planner lol. The dilemma of portability vs having all the things I need with me. 😆
Thanks for watching! I make all my inserts on Microsoft Publisher and then export to a PDF before printing. I also use half letter inserts in my A5 binders because they are so much easier for me to print (I live in the United States). I don’t plan to make a full video on this since I sell my inserts in Etsy but I hope this helps a little if you want to give it a try. I think a lot of people use Canva too but I haven’t tried it! Good luck!
I love your functional planning. I just get so overwhelmed by stickers and washi!

I love the A5 size - I think if I go with a rings planner I would pick that one :)
Thank you for the helpful ideas, and different planner recommendations .
Just ordered a green A5 Finsbury for pretty much the same reasons you stated...
Helpful information Amy. Even in a pandemic, children and husbands keep you busy I'm sure.
I'm new to Filofax, just ordered an A5 lockwood in aqua. I need that extra space in the A5! Got big handwriting 😂🙈
Good points! 👍🏻👏
Great information! Txs
Can you do a video on HOW you created your a5 size pdf and printed it?

What kind of planner do you have?
How about b5 ?
I have tried a B5 bound book before a long time ago but never rings- maybe someday =) Thanks for watching!
