I apologize as there were a few instances where my recording device somehow lost frames and thus, made some parts not look fluid while I was speaking. Please excuse this but I do thank you for watching this video. But I would like to know, what is your opinion about Bobby Bowden and the Florida State Seminoles football program?
Glad you were able to see it. In the Chicago area, my father and I were going to watch it at his friend's house whose son goes to ND. But anyways, the power went out but we were able to see the last 2 minutes or so. I wished I could have seen it at the time. Thanks for commenting and thank you so much for watching the video.
Loved Free Shoes U, lol..i couldn't figure out which team I liked more as a kid in the 90s, the Noles or UF..both had cool units & colors. Thx for the nostalgia!
It's easy to forget how good Florida college teams were in the 90s. It seems like none of them have been very good in forever. Takes me back to watching these games in my grandpop's living room on his old wood panel t.v.
First, I like your name - Average Carpentry Skills. In a way, it seems like none of them have very good in forever. It was a fun time watching those 3 Florida teams. Thank you so much for watching the video and commenting. I really appreciate it.
Miami hasn’t been great in forever (well since 2001-02) Florida was last great in 2009 Florida State was last great in 2014 (and especially went downhill after Deondre Francois got injured)
@@fiesta061000 Yes- they had actually split in 97. FSU beat them during regular season but Weurfel and Florida curb stomped them in Sugar Bowl. Those were great days to be a college football fan
That was an incredible game. That 4th and inches was awesome. I was definitely stunned. Thank you so much for all of your comments. I enjoy reading them.
As I told you before.Gator fan to. I hated FSU but damn I respect the hell out of there 90s teams and Derrick Brooks Warrick Dunn and William Floyd amongst others. Most UF fans feel that way. I hate Tennessee and Georgia no respect lol
Thanks a lot for the comment. I enjoyed reading it. But likewise, I respected FSU so much. A couple things I left out that I thought about talking about, Errict Rhett was my favorite running back and I wasn't too happy when Tampa drafted Dunn to replace him. But it's hard to dislike Dunn especially with his troubled senior year in high school and he has a tremendous foundation helping single moms getting homes. He seems to be a very likeable person. And I also wanted to mention how Rhett lost a bet to Brooks ( I forgot what season ) because FSU defeated Florida and Rhett had to do pushups every time Brooks said so. Tennessee (so much talent under Fulmer) didn't annoy me as much as FSU expect in 2001. That 34-32 loss annoyed me so much and took Florida out of the National Championship chase. But thanks again for the comment. I enjoyed reading it and thank you so much for being a subscriber.
Yes, they were so talented. I couldn't stand FSU in the '90s but they were so good. There were several games in the '90s when I would cheer against them but that FSU D would annoy me so much because they were so good. I was not able to see that ND-FSU game because the electricity mysteriously went out where I was. But thanks to RUclips, I went back to that game and it was a great game to go back to. On the other hand, I did see that BC game and sorry to mention that. Whenever I would see QB Glenn Foley in the NFL, the first thing that always comes to mind is BC defeating ND in '93. My father can't stand BC to this day because of that game. Thanks again for the comment. Lastly, I do want to apologize in advance because I've been wanting to do a video about the ND-Oregon State game in the Fiesta Bowl (2000 season). So I apologize because it might come out in the future, but with less talking and more highlights.
pretty good documentary ⁉🏈🏟🎥🟨There wasn't a playoff during the 1990s, but that's ok..College football was actually college football in the 90s..Florida State was a contender every year..FSU won it all in 93 and 99 but lost the national title game in 96 and 98..You could argue Florida State was the underdog in the 96 and 98 games..FSU was forced to play Florida for a second time for the 96 season, and FSU was without Chris Weinke for the 1998 title game..🏆🏆I believe FSU won the ACC 9 times in the 1990s..Winning the college football championship is hard..FSU made winning look easy in the 1990s..FSU went 2-2 in national title games in that decade..🤨🤔
Thank you so much for the comment and watching the video. I really appreciate it. Like you said, FSU made winning look easy in the '90s and as a Gators fan at the time, it drove me crazy. Thanks for the info you posted. Hope you enjoy the upcoming football season.
Florida Gators??? Boooooo... I habe no idea why I ended up liking Florida St. as opposed to Florida - as a kid from Califirnia who didnt even play football, totally arbitrary choice on my part.
Your comment made me laugh. Thank you, I needed that. Nowadays, I don't care but back then, I couldn't stand FSU, they had Florida's number with Spurrier for the most part.
@@90sSportsNostalgia I was shocked when I found out that Florida is actually like the Cal Berkeley academic wise if Florida. California just has too many big state universities to ever have a truly great football program. I guess USC might be an exception, but that could be debatable and college football is changing. I don't know if you are in same boat, but recently I kinda checked out of sports - 90s nostalgia made me compare it to today. But now I'm getting back into it and enjoying same sports I used to back then. I had college bball #1 college football #2. It's a different now. But I still got that 90s nostalgia and I love these videos. It's really interesting to know a little more about what I loved, test my memory, etc. It's not living in the past, it's understanding the past that can be applied to present and beyond. Time is not linear!
@@90sSportsNostalgia but remember that national championship game with wuerfell against I believe Nebraska (I'm checking my knowledge without looking up) and.they just dominated ? That must have felt nice. So all the wide lefts and FSU losses were against Miami? I felt there was one team that had FSU's number, and I always get mixed up. The greatest FSU game ever was when they came back from absurd eficit with Warrick Dunne - I don't care how much you disliked FSU, could you at least appreciate Warrick Dunne as awesome all around, rb, person, etc.? I collect cards and I'm starting a collection of Warrick Dunne. Do you have any recommendations of Florida players, probably WR's who I could collect? Oh wait, I'm collecting Fred Taylor who is off the chain. I got a Jabar Gafney I got excited to see. Ike Hilliard is Gator I believe, part of the epic '96 draft wide receiver class, and he went to De La Salle in NorCal which is where I be from. By the way, greatest and favorite Norcal player from Sacramento is Onterrio Smith. His college career is so impressive because he transferred (perhaps euphemism ) and tben sat out, went to Oregon and had such a solid career there which was a path almost unheard of for a player to take and succeed back then. The whizzinator incident now is absurd because pot was a great choice for painkiller.

College football and college basketball were great in 1990s..I was a kid back then and tried to watch all the game!! 🏈🏀📺🎫🏆🏟💺
