Not Even a FSU fan, But I Love College football and Bobby Bowden was a Class Act .He was Loved and Respected by football fans around the nation.A Gentleman who represented College football at it's best. He not only built FSU football to a National Powerhouse, he put Florida State University into the bright lights and into the minds of millions of High school Kids going off to College. RIP Mr. Bobby Bowden
As a Canes fanatic, I could not help but love this man. I remember once he was doing a radio show with Q&A with the audience a couple of days before a FSU-Miami game. A call from Miami comes in: "Hi Coach! I was wondering if you could share with us your first three offensive plays". Bowden did: "off tackle....". The caller was Miami's coach Dennis Erickson, and both had a brief laugh together. Boy, do I miss those times...!!!
Dang bro. Those days are gone forever. Say what you want about either squad but nothing was more electric under my cfb nose than FSU/Miami. I got an old buddy from way back that still won’t answer his phone after the 2005 FSU/Miami game. I tried calling him from another number once, like a year or so after the game, and once he heard my voice, “I ain’t ready to talk to you yet.” CLICK. That was 2005. It is now 2024. This is how extreme this rivalry is. My boy was traumatized more by that 2005 game than say 9/11. And now that Miami is surging I’m ashamed fsu couldn’t hold itself upright. FSU/Miami has bad timing these days. College football deserves the FSU/Miami rivalry as much as the state of Florida deserves to keep its homegrown kids playing football for the state that produced them. By default I dislike Miami but as a fan of Florida football I’d prefer to see in-state talent play football for their state.
I was lucky enough to meet him several times since being a student at FSU back in the day. Each time he would speak as if he was the one grateful to shake my hand, when of course it was totally the other way around. Saint Bobby was in a league all his own RIP Coach.
We need a part 2 because of what he did in the later years all the way to the end....... long live the old ball coach BOBBY BOWDEN you will always be MR FLORIDA STATE..... GO NOLES
It was a great blessing to live in Tallahassee, to share in the community that Coach Bowden produced. He never knew a stranger. He approached one of my sons as they were gassing up their vehicles at a service station. Bowden initiated the contact by speaking to Jon first, 'Hey Buddy.' He was just one of a kind. Most importantly, he always stood up for the Lord Jesus, appropriately and with kindness. We know Coach Bowden is precisely where he wants to be now.
Bobby Bowden was a all time winner but more important a Christian man, husband, father and grandfather.class, humor and a way to communicate without yelling.praise Jesus Christ for Bobby!
What a great history lesson for people to view! I’d encourage all FSU fans less, especially less than 30 years old to watch this. Those late 70’s teams were ferocious. Loved the ending. Bobby praying. As Mickey said at the funeral, he’s our Saint.
I really feel that God blessed Bobby Bowden because of what he did for Marshall, sharing some of his Football Strategy plays, so Marshall Football Team could rebuild and heal after the tragic plane Crash that took the lives of the Team and the Boosters.
at the time this was made they mention Noles 5 in a row finishing in top 5 at end of season poll. That would happen for the next 10 years after this was made

1:15:14 shows you how much Coach Bowden cared about his players
Bobby Bowden was NOT Florida State University, the students studying for a degree was was and is Florida State University.
Bobby Bowden gave FSU a face and hope to a once all girls school , let me know when what I said was false
