TEDxDirigo - Olas - A Performance of Original Music and Dance

Olas is a band of musicians and dancers heavily influenced by Andalusian Flamenco and Arabic folk music, translated through a blend of American folk, rock, Arabic, and Afro-Cuban sounds. Olas is an original, all-acoustic mash-up of raw and passionate music and dance. Highlights include songs sung in Spanish, palmas, contemporary choreographies, and traditional instruments such as the cajon, oud, ney, and guitar. Olas strives to honor music and dance as passionate, expressive mediums. Olas creates, congregates, and plays for the love of playing.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
