the main problem imo with the "it's satire, you're praising the vilains" is what do you want people to do ? play the game while apologising to the enemies ? no, of course I'll larp as super-earth strongest cannon fodder DUH
Yeah, larping as the bad guys is an important skill. Knowing what makes them tick is a skill, and it's also really fun. Sometimes I want to stop thinking and be a human supremacist because it's so much easier.
Personally I larp as a political prisoner that had the option between an execution and becoming a helldiver, and im honestly having a blast being just a dude that never wanted to be there in the first place
Not being able to larp at all just shows that people don't know how to derive between fiction and reality, it would be like getting mad at a author for making a fleshed out villain in a book that isn't some mindless thing that wants to commit evil because "I hAtE aLl LiFe", or actors for playing villains in movies or tv shows, etc.

I have to wonder why people treat the 500 kg bomb like a nuke. It's not even that big. Your general purpose bomb is 900 kg. Just because it makes a muchroom cloud doesn't qualify it as a nuke. I just call it a JDAM, since that's pretty much what we're using it as in-game.

I have seen videos of the real-world MOAB (Mother of All Bombs) in use and testing and think it's more practically impressive as a non nuclear ordinance.
Also, a literal 500kg nuke would yield a bigger shroom cloud than what the game shows.

Regarding the "Stop Downloading our Game", when the last Expansion for Final Fantasy XIV came out, the fucking DIGITAL COPY was SOLD OUT on all stores bc SE couldnt get more servers qucik enough, so they had to resort to liertaly stop selling the game :D
They even gave free subscription time (14 days I think it was?) to compensate the large queue numbers and occasional disconnects.

Malevelon Creek had the stratagem disruptor for a long time on helldive difficulty, had to check what you're calling in by visually checking the ball in your hand, or the tag of the stratagem top left. Good times

Helldivers 2 is the kind of dumb fun you can spend a whole day in or just have a couple of quick Trivial runs for medals or super credits before bed.
Jonathan is one of the goats of RUclips music. Fantastic metal covers and collab songs. Can only recommend his disney villain songs. He nails those so well. Also yes his Helldiver songs (2 so far) are fire.
What makes Starship Troopers movie funny is that the writer of the original book Heinlein wrote it definitely as a serious description of what should be.
Saying that would imply the director actually read Starship Troopers, when by his own admission he dismissed it as fascist propaganda without reading it and largely did his own thing for the movie.

Fascist doesn't describe Imperium in 40k because it'll give Imperium too much credit. Yes, Imperium is at a level where Mussolini is an example of competence. Somehow.
The only thing for sure is that Imperium is feudal confederation because, well, you can't be any more centralised when your FTL method is, well, you know, warp. Which isn't even FTL, it's displacement engine as you can end up in another timeline or alternate universe just as easily as in another place.

7:00 Okay, I just noticed something that's pretty WILD to me, and clever imho. Before this point, the music in the background is...I THINK from Terraria? (I've heard it in videos about Terraria) but the music that starts up after this point, I recognize from Sseth's Highfleet video. (I'm pretty sure it was from the bit talking about why using nukes in that game is a very bad idea)
I'm gonna check that out to make sure I'm remembering right later.
The highfleet ost is called Tanc a Lelek and it plays when you're fighting the super high level armadas

If Helldivers makes you love fascism you are still too young for adult literature.
The irony in this is that Super Earth isn't even practicing fascism. They lack a "great leader" and overt social hierarchy, and appear to practice a strange iteration of socialist capitalism. Super Earth instead looks to operate the same way modern china does, but more overtly militaristic, the removal of importance in a great leader, and with enthesis on social creed to high I'd dare call it theocratic. No doubt its close to fascism, but that SE dances around the notion as much as it does is proof alone that its not. It is an ideology that tends rather explicit in its existence. As it stands, SE is mostly just bureaucratic authoritarian with a big hard-on for military expansion.

But there is undeniably something very, very fun about going all-in in orbital drop-pods in the shape of bullets, screaming war cries for Democracy and Liberty, fighting against giant bugs and communist robots with sixteen megatons of explosive ordinance and napalm in the palm of your hand (literally)!
In all seriousness, it does appear to be a socialist theocratic-like system where the government holds all the power (they even demand approved forms for couples wanting to have children, and you need a higher citizen level to own small pets like goldfish or hamsters), which chooses the ideals of Liberty, Freedom, and Democracy as its central symbolism. But in general, it’s definitely a satirical take on hyper-militarism, overt government control, propaganda, and blind faith in government

I used to work at a Whole Foods, it's sort of near cities with middle and upper-middle income families, occasionally lower income. The state where I live (Oregon) has a pretty white history (i.e they didn't have slavery at the time because they didn't want black people living there at all), so the gentrification probably happened back in history .

I would recommend watching Sargon of Akkads video on Starship Troopers, he makes a (imo) very good case for why the movie and the book its based on is not fascist.
It couldn't possibly be that the author was a super libertarian and tried to make his libertarian utopia and the reason why the military was a focus is because it was a war novel. People watch the movie and only see the Hugo Boss uniforms and don't use their brains.
