I am a 24 year old male and have used salt as well as all the other conventional apps too. In my personal experience all dating apps are the same, for women, they all get plenty of likes which enables them to be extra picky, whereas for us men, unless you are over 6ft and extremely good looking you get next to no likes and matches. I am 5ft 11 and would probably be considered quite handsome by societal standards, however, when I used salt and all the other apps, I got hardly any matches. I was confused at first as to why this was the case, so I took some pics of a 6ft 5 male model and created a profile on salt just to see what would happen. What happened was the profile matched with pretty much every woman I swiped like on, as well as a load of other likes in the likes box. So from that, I concluded that online dating only works for (apart from the odd exception) women and extremely attractive tall men.
@@vincer7824 No, he had black hair and a designer beard. He was one of them 'head turner' looking kind of guys. Thats what you have to look like to succeed on dating apps as a man
@@Podheroes247 Lol, yeah models get tons of attention for their professional level looks wherever they go. Have you considered getting some professional photos taken? A great picture can make a lot people look their absolute best and you can still use the pictures for a variety of things like professional profile pics, a gift to your mom (the only person I could think of who would like a picture of me) etc... Obviously that's not your point though. I guess back to the old standard of approaching women and refining your game?
@@vincer7824 The old standard of approaching is called 'cold approaching' and in todays society it isn't a good idea I don't think due to accusations of harassment etc. Also, with that, because the woman doesn't already know you, it boils down to looks again, which most women judge harshly on

I'm generally a more introverted type but when I was younger I really wanted to be desired by women and have my option to sleep with them or not. I read a book on game (cold approaching and speaking with women strategically) and started to apply the principles and techniques therein. Although for a few years now I firmly believe in marriage before sex and became Christian I can't deny the huge confidence boost and skill that practicing cold approaches and game gave me. I started with women I was only mildly attracted to, this made me less nervous as I was not really interested. Girls that rarely got that kind of attention responded and I got learn a lot about proper timing, place and other social cues. I wouldn't even try for the number (IG, or whatever) necessarily, I would simply make having a conversation that was mutually flirtatious without dying the goal. When you fail you realize that apart from a bruised ego and perhaps some lingering questions about your competence as man, nothing changes. You probably never see them again and move on (depending.on where you live). Yes, today the risk is higher. However you would be benefited by focusing on your strengths. You're tall! Or at least tall enough for most women's preferences, which also suggest you're decently strong. You say you're handsome, another plus. You seem like you have the humility and ability to learn. You write well which indicates you're a decent thinker and at least average speaker. I GUARANTEE you there are a few women who have seen you and thought, 'He's cute.' It may seem like you have everything to lose but if your goal is marriage you have potentially a lifelong treasure to gain. Consider the photo option (think of it as an investment) and there are many resources that can help with game. After the first few cold approaches that go well and maybe one that goes ok/good you start having fun with it. People will say it's outdated/dangerous/creepy but when a girl thinks you're cute and you are giving them attention in person they will respond. It's nature and will not be denyed.
