Frank was the most broken character and it broke my heart every time he self-sabotaged and threw his life away every chance he got... and by that, he made himself deserving for all the hate he received. It broke my heart that he couldn't have all the moments he could have because of his addiction and low capacity of empathy. He was the definition of "never enough" and the sad part is that he could have been more than enough but he never realized that...
It's sad because Monica was Franks only love, although they were toxic, they were eachothers perfect match. I think Fiona even said it in one episode "She's perfect for you"
