- THis is a short summary of SCHLAGWERK WIEN SYMPOSIUM, a percussion symposium held in VIenna at KONSERVATORIUM WIEN Privatuniversität, on April 12/13 , 2013.
This is the secoind day with most master classes for timpani, marimba and percussion.... Hope you like the short excerpts. THanks to all poeple that have visited us, all performers, guest artists and of course our sponsors, mentioned on the end of the clip. Nebojsa Zivkovic
Also please notice the Vieneese timpani still in use that Professor Hochrainer crafted. These drums were very pure in sound and completely uninhibited by obstructive counter hoops.
Please notice the influence of Richard Hochrainer on the individual discussing the final movement of Beethovens 5th Symphony. So much visualization is so very important. This is the way Professor Hochrainer taught at the Hochschule fur Musik.
Norbert Schmitt-min 2.30 a 3.20 great !!
Very true! Thanks for the comment about plastic heads; far too much ring, and far too many foreign overtones!
2:30 hahahaha love him!
What's the name of the piece played by Mittermayr at minute 5.00?
5:04〜Anton Mittermayr
