There should be a horror universe where all the horror villains coexist.
I recommend "behind the mask: the legend of leslie vernon". While the classic slashers don't appear in it they are referenced. It's like all horror movies actually happened and they were all real and inspire new serial killers. It's a pretty interesting horror-comedy, highly recommend

Well Freddy exists within the evil dead universe because the Freddy claw is in the Cabin Shed, where ash gets his chainsaw from. And then in Jason Goes to Hell there’s a reference to the Necronomicon, which is the book of the dead, from evil dead, if anything, Jason and ash and Freddy DO exist in the same universe, but no other horror killers as far as I’m aware of
I wrote a treatment for it back in 2017
I called it The Millennium Massacre
The script sounded so awesome I can literally picture the whole movie in my head with this script

I feel like they COULD do Freddy Vs Jason vs Ash now. Have it one huge send-off.
Just a short summary of an idea that someone out there must’ve pondered at one point.
Ash is older, he just wants to live out the remaining years of his life. He ends up having to deal with Freddy trying to take the book and using Jason. Ash does what he does best and realizes these feckers aren’t gonna stop and not with the book. In a last ditch effort, Ash decides, “Well, my job’s shitty, I’m suffering from PSTD from having to watch my sister, my girlfriend, and my friends all dying horribly to the Deadites. I just want to retire, damn it.”
Ash uses the book after getting it away from Freddy and uses it to not only strip Freddy and Jason of their immortality, but also send them all to the past. With the iconic killers mortal, they’re at the whims of the medieval era and don’t make it, Freddy gets impaled and Jason dies to the pit monster (because he doesn’t realize he’s not immortal anymore) while Ash spends the remaining bit of his life hiding away the book so it can’t be found ever again. He’s accepting the fact he’ll die and no one will ever know what he done, but I feel like it be a send-off for Bruce Campbell. Man goes back to Ash one last time and sacrifices himself to stop two immortal killers.
I love how New Line didn’t do it because “they didn’t want to kill off Freddy”
They then proceeded to not make another Nightmare movie with Englund after FvJ anyway. Lol. Oh well. What if.

It is a great read. There is a sequel story that brings back a bunch of the final girls and other survivors as well

Just stumbled onto this and really enjoyed it. Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you guys had a fun time with the treatment. One thing that I can clarify is that New Line had absolutely zero issue with Ash winning. The treatment was approved internally before we tried to make the deal so everybody knew that Ash was going to win and it was always the plan going in. Literally zero issue whatsoever internally at the studio and Bruce knew this was the finish going back to the first drink meeting we had about the project at Chaya back in the day. The only reason this didn't happen is that we were unable to come to terms on a deal, despite trying several creative attempts (including potentially splitting territories, etc.) at making it happen over a couple years. It just wasn't meant to be, which is the nature of the business. That said, I think animation for HBO MAX is potentially a thing down the line. But to be 100% clear, New Line absolutely had zero issue with letting Ash win. In fact, Ash winning and being the right guy to close the book on the classic versions of Freddy and Jason was sort of the point. Cheers to you all and thanks again for the fun commentary.

I just wanted to tell you how AMAZING this idea was. It's long in the rear view mirror, but man, this might've been one of the all time great sequels, & a Christmas horror classic to boot! 😎
I REALLY do hope an animated adaptation will come along, as that wouldn't be physically taxing on Robert or Bruce. Fans have done a bunch of great motion comics here on YT, & that'll have to do...for now.
It's okay if it's no longer handy, but out of curiosity, do you know why the treatment seems to have been scrubbed off the Web, at least on mainstream sites?
Hello. Just want to say if by chance they were to do this today the script needs work. For example things seem too convenient, how did Ash know where to find the Necronomicon? I had this idea: maybe some of those Westin Hills patients that are in a coma from the first FvJ also possess "dream powers" and seek Williams in his dreams to go fight Freddy like every night like what Freddy did to convince Jason. Ash finally relents after multiple annoying nights as several of the teens use their dream powers to track Freddy and found out he's after some book that sounds scary that they are unfamiliar with yet Ash recognizes. So Ash races to Crystal Lake so he can end the Deadites once and for all and FINALLY get some sleep. Maybe also add a character from Springwood that's familiar about Krueger that tells Ash who he is similar to the deputy from FvJ. Also if they make this today, an idea make it Ash telling this story to his fellow Ghostbeaters on a campfire similar to F13 Part 2 which explains why the characters keep looking different and Pablo or Kelly calls Ash out on his sugar coating "you don't look like that".
Honestly if I was a big Hollywood guy I would push the shit for this while Bruce could still play Ash and get Robert back. I'm sure for a project like this they would both be 100% for a final send off
It would’ve been cool if this movie was made in the early to mid 1980s and had the comic Nightmare Freddy tone, the gore of F13th, and the terrifying imagery of The Evil Dead. I can literally imagine scenes from this script combining the three. 🤟🏼🤔🤟🏼
That definitely could have been a very solid movie. Probably more towards the entertainment side than the scary side, but a mix of both.
But I love that Jason would have gone full Karen. I can picture the kills he would get in a store like that.

This would’ve been an incredible film. If anybody should kill off Freddy forever, it should be Ash. I think this film could still happen and could be the swan song for both Robert England and Bruce Campbell to come back for one last time as the characters they said they would retire for one last fight.

This movie would've definitely have made up for my complicated relationship with Freddy Vs. Jason, especially if it meant killing off the main characters from that movie. Also, Ash fighting Freddy and Jason in the way the script for Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash sounds flawless.
And Nancy was watching evil dead on the tv in the first nightmare!
They did make a comic version of this treatment. I have it. It’s pretty rad.

I really wish this movie happened and think it would've been a perfect send-off for Robert Englund's Freddy. FVJ isn't a bad finale, but every time I watch it I always feel like he had at least one more story left to tell (which is obviously isn't gonna happen now due to Englund's age). I didn't realize the cancellation of FVJVA led to the cancellation of other Nightmare and Friday projects too! What a bummer. Guess we have New Line Cinema to thank for that.
(I will say I don't like the comic version of this treatment as much, but I won't spoil anything! Awesome recap, guys!)

The only thing that upsets me about FvJvA not happening is "Freddy vs Jason" was our "Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman" But we never got our "House of Frankenstein/Dracula"

What's funny is in one of the PS2 Evil Dead games there's a video where Bruce Campbell talks about this potential crossover and says Sam Raimi's studio is discussing plans for the potential movie. Oh, what could have been!

The comic series Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash is awesome and it's sequel Nightmare Warriors is epic! You gotta read those. Nightmare on Elm Street got me into horror. Freddy Vs Jason got me into Friday the 13th. Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash got me into Evil Dead.

This would've been a truly awesome movie. Great elements for fans of each of these series. A crossover that could have worked great had they made it after Freddy vs Jason.
I made a Freddy vs Jason vs ash comic based on the comics and this script and I condensed it into 40 something pages. I don't mean to brag but I think it'd be better, honestly, it was mostly the same, but I love the tweaks I added
The cabin from evil dead should be jasons cabin. So jasons cabin was always the evil dead cabin .But jason wanting intelligence is stupid to me
This sounds awesome and hilarious and, well, groovy. It's always the damn bean counters that get in the way of cool shit happening. So they held out because of the issue of killing Freddy, and what exactly have they done with him since then? The next thing they did with Freddy was a reboot, anyway, so it would hardly have mattered if he'd died.

So, I know this was two years ago, but I've been mildly obsessed as of late with what could have been with this unmade flick.
I thankfully own the now long out of print collected edition of the comic adaptation, but it sounds like this treatment has minor differences.

Do people scream “God Damn you Michael” at you guys when you walk down the street?, I like to think it happens a few times a day and if I ever saw you guys out I would for sure. I think it would be awesome if at the end after Jason is buried under the ice and Freddy is gone, Ash gets sucked up into the portal and gets spit out in front of the Myers house and you just hear the breathing and then the movie ends.
