This is a very good video, well done!
I feel very confident doing this installation now.
My only complaint is the music is a bit loud, needs to be more in the background. Other than that, great video!

Need to make a new video I installed on last night on a 2024. Completely different. The wire mentioned is no longer visible to tap in for relay. Next to impossible to reach bottom of screws that hold relay. Relay has to be mounted at an angle because of something in the way and also to allow for air intake to be removed. No need to cut hole for switch, just pop out a blank. No need to take door or fender off.

After watching this guy do such a clean job installing this whole kit, I said to my wife " Screw it honey this man is going to install my winch, he's got more practice than I have. We dont need to save money that bad !".... Awesome work boys...

Agree with Dan. Instructions that came with the superatv winch kit tell you to mount the winch inverted from this video.

Would be nice to explain how to connect to the keyon part. It’s super hard to get to. There has to be a better/easier way.

@@Rancast4763 I just hooked the small red wire up to the solenoid postive terminal. The power comes from battery to on/off switch. From the switch it goes to power terminal of solenoid. I keep the power off to the winch until I need to use it. Which is almost never. Just an idea for you..

Good install video, I have a 2016 Honda pioneer. I use it for plowing purchased last year. Winch fibre cable just snapped unfortunately. Went to remove bumper, took two allen key screws, took both lower bumper screws, remove three of the other screws of 4 noticed one was missing. Turns out it was snapped but bolt still in the frame/bumper mount. Bumper can’t be removed to replace cable. Add to this the previous owner appears to have two different colored cables so likely tried replacing and got stuck not being able to remove bumper to access winch. The cable wasn’t spooled correctly so can’t pull out either. Tried drilling out screw it was snapped right at the head of the bolt and the other end is a welded nut to the frame. So the bolt passes through the frame and bumper plate. Also tried hammering hoping it would snap not sure what else to do? It hasn’t had any issues but this will be hard to fix if I can’t remove the bumper. I’d literally have to cut the cable off in that small gap and then try and spool properly in the small gap (I removed the fairlead plate but still not a lot of room to work with.
Is there any ideas u can think of?

Either way you go, it will require some work. Drilling or cutting out the stuck bolt would be the only way to get it to come loose. As far as the winch goes, if the rope cannot pull out any further, you may need to cut through the rope (in pieces) until it is all gone and add a new rope. It's unfortunate when things like this happen!

@@SuperATVMedia lol so I basically had to take off the whole grill (disconnect from headlights), still a grinder cut welded bolt off, remove plow plate, take bumper off, cut rope off with a knife. Put new rope and back together was a 6 hour ordeal with 2 hours of help.

What's the deal with the winch rope angle on a 2023 model?
Is that angle normal or should I invert the winch?

When I run the rope out the bottom like it says in the book it is at a 90 degree angle to the front guide. Running off the top of the winch it is about a 20 degree angle. Does it hurt to have it spool from the top of the winch?

You want the line running from the bottom of the spool. Every manual states that it all has to do with the torque applied to the winch when in use.

Finally got the Superatv 4500 winch installed on my Honda 1000-5 using a KFI mount. All is well except that the push/toggle switch actions are reversed when activating the winch. Push out, winch comes in. Push in, winch goes out. Works great, just reverse actions. Any suggestions?

Be careful, winches normally spool from the bottom so that you have proper braking action. Spooling from the top will not brake under load.
