Who'd have thought that a gentleman "of a certain age" (to quote Gregg Wallace) for 45 mins of strolling through fields, putting up a tent, lighting a fire, making a scratch meal, etc. Well the present Mrs Little and I loved it. I am guessing that earlier in life you were in the scouts or the forces Sandy?? Thanks for sharing....brilliant !
My mum and dad used to go fishing together when they were alive (mum used to get more bites than dad) and they loved their Trangia Sandy. That meal looked sooo tasty and good for the soul. This is what you call an overnighter. As long as you've got a stove in the Lavvu, it's lovely and warm...like a fridge without during the cold spells. The camera nighttime shots looked amazing too. Thank you for taking us along with you buddy, thoroughly enjoyed this video and it looks like you had an amazing one too
Yes Steve I enjoyed this camp, mostly thanks to the Canvas tent, so much nicer than plastic nylon. Trangias have been around for years possibly since the 50's or 60's. A great stove
Brilliant camp! Looks peaceful with the hot tent set up and a nice stew in the woods.. Hidden beers are a bonus 🤣 Looking at getting a hot tent set up myself for some camps in the new year 👍
I love all seasons, except we don’t get the low temps in winter that you do. That was a Masterclass of filming and content, fabulous entertainment.on every level. I can smell that food cooking, seriously.
Glad you have the opportunity to escape into the countryside - Considering the madness that is stalking the UK just now - Having said that I'm so jealous and still somewhat home sick whenever I watch your videos, do continue to make videos for as long as you are able and inclined.
It only makes sense that a man who knows and appreciates quality knives would know that splitting wood is a job for an axe. Keep up the good work of teaching by example, Sandy. RUclips needs more like you!
Another fantastic video, Sandy . I really love it when you do these videos in the wood. All at peace with life, I think we all need it. That is some stew you made Sandy, that will keep you warm .
SANDY, absolutely fantastic video. You are a trooper my friend. You have become a great cinematographer. I really enjoyed watching you in action. Very experienced woodland camper. Of all the animals in the woods that night, you definitely ate the best. You make it all look so easy, it’s not. I relive my former camping through you, thank you. Thanks for sharing. Tony.
Awesome, shame the video came to an end. Such a great example of enjoying the simpler things in life and getting outside regardless of the weather. Looking forward to the next one. 👏👌
Great to see you out camping again, I love seeing you out on the trike but your camping trips are absorbing to the extent that I feel like I'm there, fantastic footage.
The dawn scene was deeply moving Sandy, bringing the mystery of the forest into life.Great edit and good to see you out.Stay well old friend.Harry. …out
Thanks for the great video Sandy, makes us feel right there. That tapered corned beef can brought back many memories, glad the key didn't break the tab off. I'm now hungry all of a sudden....
Excellent video as always Sandy, I am very fortunate and live very remote and enjoy walking from my door into the woods and taking my Polish Lavvu for a night out. Brian Ireland.
It's nice if you have access to a remote place Brian, where I am it's quite busy, there's a road not too far away from this woodland and it's difficult to get away from all the man made noise
Looks like you had a nice relaxing time, must have been good to have a hot tent experience again. That heavy canvas certainly holds in the heat better than any nylon tents. Thanks for sharing.
Great to see the wood and field, and of course hearing the deer. Always a joy to see the food cooking with the glow of the lantern. Peaceful camp I'm sure. Thank you Sandy, stay warm. All the best, Travis.
Looked like a well needed camp out sandy, we call that stew cowboy stew that pack Looked very heavy love the beer stash you'll have to top it up great video looking foward to the next
Fantastic cinematography. You are a force of nature, and an inspiration to us all Sandy. I learn something every time i watch one of your videos. Thank you.
Most enjoyable video, thanks, Sandy! Your two-man Tranga stove is so versatile and quick to set up. Leave no trace and no washing-up as stomach germs can quickly flourish on dirty kit! Thanks!
You're making me envious, Sandy. Last time I camped was with you several weeks ago (too much going on at home), but I hope to get up to the woods this coming week and set-up the trail-cams. Also, your vid reminded me that I've got a project lurking in a dark corner of the man-cave; a Polish Lavvu that needs modifying ready for some hot-tenting!
It's well worth the effort to mod the lavvu Steve, not a difficult job if your handy with a sewing machine (Which I'm not) I made a bit of a mess of mine but it still works. I'll have to pop over and drop your knife off :)
Brilliant camp,Sandy. So great to see you out in the woods in the shelter with the stove and some great cooking. Oh, that breakfast, going to try that. Nice touch of filming 😮too. That new drone works so well. So look forward to the next one. Hope Mandy and the family are well. Best wishes P & M
I gotta tell you mate; you did a right proper job with that camping video, I really enjoyed it. I'll be looking forward to some more of those. I liked how that wizard's tree revealed that beer. I think I would have shit if you said that it was Budweiser. Thank's for taking your time my British friend. Have a beautiful day! Cheers!! Illinois, USA
Stew looked very hearty and very warming sandy, just what was needed on a cold night. I had a funny feeling you would launch a night time recce in the wizards tree lol 😂 that’s the tree that just keeps giving 👍♥️ love to all the family and the two woofers ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️👍👍👍👍
Superb from start to finish! Some of the drone footage and the light painting shots were spectacular. Also I have a new recipe to test out with corned beef stew 😋😋
When the oil lamp comes out, it is guaranteed to be a seriously good camp. It never fails. Thank you as always Sandy for bringing your camera and drone with along with you in order to give us a share of your experience. A basic camp and some good hearty food is all that is needed to make things right. No better relief from the stress of life than being surrounded by trees and nature. The sights, the sounds, and the smells. Every place that you set your tent is home for the night. Keep enjoying your life my friend, see you on the next one.
Looked like a cracking night out Sandy the cornbeef stew looked very tasty I've not had that since I camped with Rick T outdoors adventures your definitely right a canvass tent is great for holding the heat but a nightmare to carry on a long walk I'm out tonight in a hot tent so thought I'd get some inspiration from yourself hopefully the weather isn't too wet 😂 atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Thanbks Jimmy, Have a great camp mate, I shall try and watch later:) Yes Canvas is in my opinion the best for warmth and cosyness' but not without its drawbacks
Another Great Video Sandy; What You need is a long electric extension lead to tap into the next field Tehe; ECO Friendly Hot tent Camping. Great video as always Sandy.
Nice to see you to see you nice sandy again back out camping in your hot tent ⛺️ on foot this time no bike the meal looked nice and the fire in the tent hope all is well and your Mandy picking up from her illness hope to see you out more camping in the spring and summer stay safe and stay healthy one life enjoy blessed be
Thanks Francis, Mandy is doing really well now. The gear on this camp was just too heavy to cycle with so I drove there in my car and walked the rest of the way
That was a Great video i enjoyed it and i could tell you enjoyed it aswell Sandy, lovely cosy overnighter with a lovely meal and beer, great photography/drone footage showing the beautiful autumn colours alongside some great background music, very relaxing the whole experience so thank you Sandy i think you are getting better at this 😁👏👏👌🏻👋
Thank you for this Sandy, a wonderful camp on a chilly night in your hot tent. Hearing the crackles of the stove, just wonderful. Loved every moment of this video, the food looked delicious, I shall definitely do that even on my cooker at home. Stay safe and well, good health to you Sandy.
Sandy this was wonderful. Creative filming, & exceptional editing. This one seemed to be on a whole new level, I was smiling throughout. Thanks for your continued inspirational content mate. Now I've commented, I'm going to watch it again right now.
Hahaa Thanks Malcolm. It took a bit of work to do and was only filmed on Gopro hero 10 as they are lightweight, my other camera which does a better job is 10 times the weight. Glad you enjoyed the video:)
I like the skirt idea on the Lavu, I was thinking about adding that to mine for more clearance. Such a great feeling when it’s cold out, but warm inside with a nice fire..
That’s good food for winter camping , your so organised over the time I’ve been watching you I’ve learned a lot thanks , I’ve got some of my gear but not ready to camp yet . Only thing is I would have to take some tomato sauce, can’t do without it lol😊
Super video Sandy, old school and done properly; not a dried meal in sight! I found the whole video wholesome and quite therapeutic. I love the idea of caching beers! I have forwarded it to Linleys360 as he would love this too. Keep up the brilliant videos.
@WiltshireMan It doesn't get too cold here in Virginia. It can go as low as 25°f here in the middle of December but that's not that often. Granteed that Jacklore is going with me though! Man I love that knife.
Excellent video, I was jealous of your stew ! A quick short cut is to use a can of soup and to add in a packet of sliced corned beef which will dissolve into the soup and add more calorific value and protein (for those in a rush!)
If I ever find that tree, I’m gonna hide a nice bottle of rum in there for our old mate Sandy. 🥃

A hot tent makes ALL the difference on a cold Winters night. It's a bit of an investment but well worth it in my opinion
A man at peace, imagine if we all could have permission to do this in our local woodland, a relaxing watch for the rest of us 👍🏻
I love all seasons, except we don’t get the low temps in winter that you do.
Thats the plan David, yes the UK politically is a mess
It only makes sense that a man who knows and appreciates quality knives would know that splitting wood is a job for an axe. Keep up the good work of teaching by example, Sandy. RUclips needs more like you!
It's just common sense John but that seems sadly lacking these days
Absolutely lovely video, my heart rate is now much slower… it always amazes me how you carry so much. Cheers.
And it was pared down to the minimum really martyn. Hot tenting does mean carrying some weight though
Another fantastic video, Sandy . I really love it when you do these videos in the wood. All at peace with life, I think we all need it. That is some stew you made Sandy, that will keep you warm .

Been doing it a few years now Tony:)
Sandy lovely ses you out camping love that woodland. Should make camping laws free like in Scotland thanks posting.
I wish the laws for wild camping in England were changed, but only if people would follow them!
Awesome, shame the video came to an end. Such a great example of enjoying the simpler things in life and getting outside regardless of the weather. Looking forward to the next one. 👏👌
I'm just looking for a really cold snap with some snow hopefully for the next hot tent camp:)
Yes, I have had the key break in the past!!!
I really enjoyed that one Sandy, thank you 🙏🏻
That was a brilliant first hot tent camp out of the season..... hope it restored the spirits - Cheers.
Looks like you had a nice relaxing time, must have been good to have a hot tent experience again. That heavy canvas certainly holds in the heat better than any nylon tents. Thanks for sharing.
Without a doubt Oz, canvas is my favourite but just a shame it's so heavy!!
Lovely video Sandy, could almost smell that stew, good job.
Good man sandy i look forward to seeing this later tonight thanks and take care.
Great to see the wood and field, and of course hearing the deer. Always a joy to see the food cooking with the glow of the lantern. Peaceful camp I'm sure. Thank you Sandy, stay warm. All the best, Travis.
Thanks Travis, this was a lovely back to basics camp ina canvas tent:)
Another peaceful and relaxing video Sandy!!! Thank you again!!! (Rick from Kentucky). 😊
Cracking video Sandy, lovely relaxed pace, good solid gear, wonderful sunrise, keep up the good work.
Thanks Paul
Love it! I've no idea how you can put all that food away and I'm a big lad!
I think it looked like there was more food than there actually was, those Trangia pots aren't big
Lovely winter camp Sandy. Thanks for sharing and well done
Thanks for taking us with you on this cold overnighter bro and good to see it was a good one for you. Safe travels. Ken.
Great little camp. Love a corn dog stew, a few dumplings and scrape the bottom of the pan where the stew is just starting to catch. Good stuff.
Yes, that bit where it just catches is full of flavour
A proper camping vid ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It was that:)
What a cosey relaxing camp! Cheers sandy.
Thank you.
Thankyou :)
Another entertaining video Sandy, great job.
Most enjoyable video, thanks, Sandy! Your two-man Tranga stove is so versatile and quick to set up. Leave no trace and no washing-up as stomach germs can quickly flourish on dirty kit! Thanks!
On one nighters I generally leave the washing up until I get back home
You're making me envious, Sandy. Last time I camped was with you several weeks ago (too much going on at home), but I hope to get up to the woods this coming week and set-up the trail-cams. Nice video Sandy, what a great dawn view to wake up to for recharging your batteries and soothing the sole. 👍😎
Looking well Sandy, keep them coming - excellent 👍
Brilliant camp,Sandy. So great to see you out in the woods in the shelter with the stove and some great cooking. Oh, that breakfast, going to try that.

Really enjoyed that video Sandy. Loved the beer stash in the tree.🏕👍
The cycling must be keeping you fit Sandy, that was quite a load to carry in to camp, well done.

@ good job at the wizards tree sandy ♥️👍👍👍👍👍
Lovely video Sandy. A great camp. I have good memories of those woods.
Keep well
Noel
A brilliant film Sandy. You must have put a lot of work into filming that one.The Wiltshire Man at his finest. Many thanks.
Hahhaaa Yes, Neil, it was a bit of work but worthwhile
Nice camp Sandy, the old beer tree came up trumps again! The trouble you go to to produce all the different shots is amazing.
It takes a bit of work Patrick but it's not rocket science:)
Lovely video, superb entertainment thanks Sandy.
Nice one Sandy , the camp looked nice and warm and peaceful
It looked cosy Sandy, l loved the night shots of the bare trees against the sky....what l love, thank you. Jan
Great to see you back out in the sticks again sandy
Superb from start to finish! Some of the drone footage and the light painting shots were spectacular. Also I have a new recipe to test out with corned beef stew 😋😋
Great video Sandy keep them coming. Steve J
Hi Sandy, Great video. I love corned beef in a can, I like to make sandwiches with it. Thank you for sharing your wild camp with me. Cheers!
Thanks Dan, Corned beef is under rated, it sure tastes good in my stew:)
Thank you Sandy, I enjoy the camping videos very much.
Recently got myself one of those, must get out in it sometime, stew looked great.
Good rustic hot tent camp, great job.
Enjoyed watching your camp very good , you make it look easy 😊

Hahaa Yes Terry, the oil lamp is a must have especially on a long night. It's dark by 5pm
Sandy thanks for the time and effort you put-in to making your camping videos an enjoyable adventure for everyone watches them👍💯
Nice one Sandy. Very good for the soul. Just enough space on your table for the K1 & Palm Paddle it looks like. JBJ OM.
It could happen Rupert but with all the weight even a K1 could be the straw that breaks the camels back:)
Thanks for taking us with you. Great cinematography too :)
Thankyou:)

Stay safe and well, good health to you Sandy.
Corned beef hash not had that for a while. Tasty
Looked everywhere can’t find those beers 😂😊😊
They are well hidden:)
Beautiful Sandy!!
You live like a king my good man.
The experience is priceless. ❤
Sandy this was wonderful. Creative filming, & exceptional editing. This one seemed to be on a whole new level, I was smiling throughout. Thanks for your continued inspirational content mate. Now I've commented, I'm going to watch it again right now.

Great overnighter Sandy. I haven't done one for nearly a year. The Trangia 27, what a bit of kit.
Awesome stove Rob, has to be a must have for any camper and stovaholic:)
@ mine is an ex DofE Trangia 27. Been used and abused by hundreds of kids until it was retired into my safe keeping.
carrying the gear of three men! Thank goodness you didn't have far to hike.
And canvas isn't light either. I guess back in the 1920's they would class this a lightweight
Loved that camp Sandy. All the best mate.
Great camp Sandy. I like your weather better than mine.
Cracking film 👏👏👏
I like the skirt idea on the Lavu, I was thinking about adding that to mine for more clearance. Such a great feeling when it’s cold out, but warm inside with a nice fire..
The Lavvu skirt/wall is a game changer
Just bought my first hot tent, now looking for a foldable stove.....looking and learning Sandy😊
Woodswalker is a cheaper option, the newer one has a better chimney attachment, otherwise I would say spend some money and get a Pomoly stove.
alot of work went into that camp but I loved it thankyou
Yes Steve, a lot of clips to edit but I enjoyed it all :)
Great video, that took some effort no mistake. Thanks for sharing it. 👍
You have a lot of 'drive by' shootings Sandy by the sound of it. 😂😂Enjoyed the video. ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ ☺☺
That’s good food for winter camping , your so organised over the time I’ve been watching you I’ve learned a lot thanks , I’ve got some of my gear but not ready to camp yet . Only thing is I would have to take some tomato sauce, can’t do without it lol😊
Your corn beef stew looked very nice, and beer to wash it down with.
'Ull' east yorkshire.
U got a great spot there, awsome video👍
It's just a small piece of woodland close to home, shame there's a bit of manmade noise around but it's still worthwhile getting out
Super video Sandy, old school and done properly; not a dried meal in sight! I found the whole video wholesome and quite therapeutic. I love the idea of caching beers! I have forwarded it to Linleys360 as he would love this too. Keep up the brilliant videos.
Thanks Hedley, this was a bit old school I guess. Paraffin storm lantern, wood stove and a canvas tent:)
Wonderful, thanks Sandy😉👌
Nice to be back in the hot tent, the first one of the new season. I hope we get some snow this Winter:)
Glad to see you back in the trees! I went through my gear Friday. I'll likely be doing my "deep freeze" camp this month.
I'm sure you'll have a great time, hopefully the next hot tent camp I do it will be really cold:)
Cracking camp that pal...all the best...
Brilliant video. I do like your stove - very nice. Great fun as always. Thanks. Richard - G6EQJ
Thank you for sharing your video Sandy, great to see you out in the woods again, keep going my friend.
It's a sad corned beef day when the key breaks off😂
nice one sandy
Great video Sandy we need to get you over to my woods ASAP before Christmas; without any gunshots!
Absolutely love the photography Sandy from about 32 minutes in… plenty of time to pop over even in 2025 ❤☺️🔥
