Absolutely love your piece of paradise Larry…..I bet you now have a new favourite surf fishing beach. My wife makes a wonderful fish patty with the salmon and they are delicious. Thanks for sharing. (As an aside Larry, I fish regularly on the surf in Victoria and use circle hooks and have found them very good on the salmon. Another tip I would suggest is to lower your rod to more perpendicular to the side of the beach when the fish is almost in to drag them up rather than high sticking”.
Thanks Mark, have tried the rod tip, but its so big its hard to hold that way. Should of gotten one a bit smaller in size. I usually use circle hooks, but had a company in Victoria wanting me to try these rigs, so been using them for a few weeks now, but honestly, not a big fan, seem to lose too many fish, but will be switching up soon.
Doing a catch up on your latest there videos now, what a way to start, with this video! Pretty much non stop action on the sambos, even if you did drop a few. A big snapper definitely would have been a treat for old mate, after you said that i was hoping you would get one too, maybe next time 👍
Do you salt the pillies yourself? I made some yesterday and wondering how long it will take for them to be usable? 🤷♂️ As for fishing! Awesome work Larry! I can’t wait to catch my first ever fish on my surf rod! How you liking living in Merimbula? Keep up the amazing work! Tight lines 🎣🇦🇺🤙
I have salted Salmon, but I just buy the pilchards like that, most of the shops down here have them. It usually takes a couple days to get the moisture out and when they're done, it stays on the hook much better. Keep at it with the surf rod and can't wait to see you land your first one. Thanks Toby!
Just watching your video now, comments are turned off, but use some paper towel between each layer of fish, it helps remove the moisture. But you used enough salt to do the trick. Nice job and hopes it works out for you. Let me know how it goes!
Sorry, one other tip, don't place them in the fridge/freezer, leave them out until the moisture is gone, usually 24-48 hours, then you can keep them in the freezer. Cheers!
@@LarrysFishing sorry the comments were off, I recon it’s due to Noah not having a shirt on… he never wears a shirt 🤷♂️🤣. Will they still work with them in the freezer straight away? I didn’t realise but put them in the freezer straight away, should I pull them out, wait for them to defrost, salt the, again and let the, sit? Would that make them better?
What a beautiful beach to fish!.. Those dinner fish looked good..as fresh as it gets!!👍👊
It is a nice spot and thanks as always for watching!
What a beautiful beach. No doubt about exhaustion. You did good. Made it all the way through.
Had no idea it would be that much work LOL But its fun and about the only spot right now producing some good fish.
Beautiful sunrise and nice catches ! Hope that one makes a great dinner. Bummer about losing some but still seemed like a fun day 🙌
Leigh made a fish curry, it was so good :) Thanks Jared!
At least you got into a few! And what a magnificent place to be! 👏👏
I know you've been down this way on holiday, it is magical and just so many spots to fish.
@@LarrysFishing it’s an amazing place where you are Larry, I’m over due to visit again.

Nice one Larry. Couple of nice little salmon straight up and that third one was nice. That’s a beautiful beach you’re fishing at. Great video mate.
It was a fun morning and just a great location. Hope all is well with you and the weather allows you to get out.

It got me excited too, but LOL Need to get some beach worms, told they work a treat this time of year will likely get me onto a few other species.
Nice feed there. Nice whip on that rod. Good for casting.....
It does go out far if you really give it a go and love that beach, easy access and seems to always be a few around. Thanks Brett.
Hey Larry, you should try and do a catch and cook video, it would be fun and interesting to watch!
Thanks for the feedback.I'll mkae sure to get a few done on the coming weeks!
