New Obelisk Garden Trellis, Unboxing New Host Plant Orders & Lots of Butterflies

- In this gardening video, we are unboxing some trellises that I bought on Amazon for my pipe vine plants. Not only that, but I also had two plant orders come in and we’re going to unbox those as well, so you can see the host plants I bought for my butterfly garden. We will compare the quality of the plants and the way they were packed for shipping. Then you get to see it all come together when I install the obelisk shaped trellises in my garden and plant the pipevine with them. I love the result, and I think you will too, and of course there are butterflies throughout the video.

Looks great! Don't feel bad about the catarpillars. Out of 20+ milkweeds, the birds ate all of my monarch caterpillars!

A moment of silence for the fallen!🥹 a praying mantis got 8 of my 16 gulf fritillaries.😭 and now only 4 left this morning. You are right though life does go on.No! You are not fired. I say take them all in. Haha do what you want! I have been blessed with monarchs babies. I have four 1st instar and 19 eggs. I brought them all in. No one judge me. I just can’t let anything eat them. I’m sure I missed some and they can have those. What I don’t know don’t hurt me right? I also have another spicebush swallowtail.😋I’m so in love with it all! Love your new obelisks. So elegant! Looks fabulous. Have a great week.
You know, you said it exactly right, not knowing is so much better when it comes to caterpillars. When you see their cute little adorable selves just living life on a plant and the next day they are just gone, well you just feel the need to bring in everyone you see after that. So now I walk through my garden trying not to see them. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 (No not really🐛🐛)

Hi Susan! Autumn is making its presence known up here and my garden going to sleep, but I love the Autumn season and I can still enjoy your videos. I read that butterflies remember their lives as caterpillars and they know from whence they came. They will return to you to lay their eggs because they know where to find food and safety. Does that just blow your mind ?
You know, I read the scientific study that shows that butterflies retain memories from their caterpillar days! So fascinating!!!! It is definitely mind blowing!!
Oh My! Oh My! i love the obelesks! I liked the idea of one in each quarter but LOVE the idea of them adjacent to each other like a grand entrance way!!! The new garden order company that you loved the packing of reminded me of the packing on Blue Stone Perennials. Did any of these new companies cell the heritage red pentas by any chance? I did not look for Pentas on those sights, so I’m not sure. I am loving the obelisks too!! I’m ready for them to be covered in Pipevine and caterpillars. 🩵🦋🩵🦋🐛🐛🐛🐛

Of course you need to take more in because those ones didn’t make it! You have to outweigh the negatives with positive caterpillar success stories. Besides with such a large number of them being in your garden, 2 percent could very well be in the realm of 6 or seven😂 Also one of my variegated fritillaries eclosed just now. It’s gorgeous! I’ll send pics in IG later.
I literally just got home from the gym, went outside, saw another caterpillar and brought it in. I might have to add “power of” to my 4 or 5. Like 4 to the power of 5. 😂😂😂😂😂
