Fun Fact: Maya Rudolph's mother was soul singer Minnie Riperton, known for her high octave vocal range & her #1 hit "Loving You" and was a also a singer for Rotary Connection. Before her death, she received the American Cancer Society's Courage Award, which was presented to her by President Jimmy Carter.
Minnie Riperton died way too young at just age 31, when Maya Rudolph was just 7. At the end of Loving You, Minnie is calling out for Maya (a 2 year old toddler at the time).

Maya Rudolph is brilliant. I grew up on SNL --as in watched the original crew-- that 11:30 go to be called me out, and I legit got a little teary eyed at the props to all the SNL ladies. SNL and Dr Who were my Saturday night ritual and SNL shaped a lot of my comedy tastes, plus I still have Roseann Rosannadanna hair if I'm not careful.

What blows my mind isn't just how amazing this is. But the fact it was put together in, what, probably just two weeks? Surely this was given more time than a typical skit (less than a week), but it's not like they rehearsed this for 6 months. This had to have been done on a *VERY* short timetable and yet it's just ... flawless. Hats off to everyone involved with this! **AMAZING** job!
