This sewing tutorial walks you through the steps to sew a fully lined floor length doll gown with a side train. The doll clothes sewing pattern used for the tutorial is called Re-Enchanted and was inspired by the release of the new Barbie movie. A nod to the classic gown from Barbie's closet called Enchanted Evening. The pattern is available on our website.

I actually gasped when I saw your video pop up! I can't tell you how many years I've wanted to see this gown recreated for our 16" inch dolls. You've done a masterful job! Perfect to the last detail. I would love to see any of Charlotte Johnson's designs for Barbie recreated. Solo is certainly iconic but the ones I most long for are Red Flare, After 5, and Sophisticated Lady.

That turned out beautifully! I would like to see your version of Solo as well. I can also see this gown in ice blue on a blonde doll..a very Grace Kelly vibe! I have a Scarlett with that body on order, and I can see her in pale green, or a deeper rose.
Scarlet would look great in this gown.

I was nine years old in 1959-60 when the enchanted evening fashion came out, but it was one of the more expensive Barbie fashions, so I always longed for it. I am so hoping that you will make a version of this pattern for Ellowyne Wilde -- do you see that happening in the near future?

Bratz dolls are having a massive comeback and there's thousands of members on Facebook groups who collect these dolls but patterns for their clothes and tutorials are so hard to find. can you start tutorials and patterns for the Bratz dolls?

How do you make the gloves that fit Barbies thumb perfect. Thank you Yvonne 🇬🇧
The doll I sewed for in the video was a 16" Tonner doll. The hands are painted white and the upper part of the glove is stretch fabric.
I'm feeling really stupid right now. Last night, I sewed the bodice darts and put it on my doll to see the fit. :( It is not a good fit. There's going to be no overlap to put snaps on and the bottom of the bodice just reaches her waist, so it will be short waisted. What? So, I'm adding a quarter of an inch to the top and sides and will try again today. It's got to be something I did wrong but???
I know that metal snaps are true to the period (and come in several sizes). But, why don't you use the white, plastic snaps? They are less bulky. Could you recreate some of the other iconic Barbie 1959/60 garments?
I do have some of the plastic snaps. I will give them a try next time. I may produce more icon Barbie fashion at a future date.

I found that the plastic snaps do not hold up over time. I am talking about the see on type
