Row 4 : chain 1, turn work, 1 hdc decrease, 24 hdc, 1 hdc decrease, 1 hdc (27 sts)
Row 5 : chain 1, turn work, 1 hdc decrease, 22 hdc, 1 hdc decrease, 1 hdc (25 sts)
Row 6 : chain 1, turn work, 1 hdc decrease, 20 hdc, 1 hdc decrease, 1 hdc (23 sts)
Row 7 : chain 1, turn work, 23 hdc
Row 8 : chain 1, turn work, 1 hdc decrease, 18 hdc, 1 hdc decrease, 1 hdc (21 sts)

Crochet around the border. Chain 1 (after last stitch at row 27) and make 1 single crochet on each row/stitch, make 3 single crochet on each corner.

Hi ❣️Shirley from England here…I’ve actually made this little nappy cover today using your older tutorial.. I think it’s a wonderful little pattern and beautifully explained. The ones you have done are probably more for a boy in colour ( mine was for a boy too) I added an extra row of single crochet but I’m sure it could be made to look a bit more “girlie” by adding this extra row in picot or shells etc … just LOVE this versatile little pattern ❤️ thank you 🙏xxx
