In short slaanesh loves those who strive to perfection as high elves, N'kari hates twins because he hates all spawn of Aenerion who imprisoned him inside vortex for millennia, and also was wreck a couple times by them
It's worth noting that during the second intrusion, Ariel, the wood elf queen, sent her troops to Ulthuan to protect Alarielle the Everqueen. Led by Scarloc, they managed to not only slow down N'Kari but also to trick her into attacking the Druchii invaders. Thus buying enough time for Teclis to banish the demon.
Funny fact : the High Elves had no idea why N'Kari was on a rampage until a Dark Elf spy in their midst revealed what N'Kari's intentions were. Tyrion and Teclis are both alive in the setting thanks to the Druchii.
Neat little vid - slight oversight in that wood elves basically don't need to worry about Slaanesh or Ereth Khial unless they cut themselves off from Athel Loren, since their communion with the forest binds their spirits to it, intertwining them with it. Which of course is why the Asrai are _so_ all in on the forest's wellbeing beyond just a home.
The problem with greater demons is that they're pretty much the strongest enemy a named character could hope to beat (Because when you go above the level of N'Kari, Ku'Gath, Skarbrand and Kairos the tier above is made of actual gods) so they're an irresistible prize for a writer that wants their character to appear strong, it doesn't help that being demons, they can "die" as much as they want and always come back, so narrative wise they're kind of expendable, unlike, say, Louen, who can only die once
I read the Tyrion and Teclis books recently, they are good and N'kari was a well written character, now im waiting for the modders of total war to made a N'kari model based on his enslavement by Malekith, everyone deserves a bit of love, even N'kari
Welp, this is probably the campaign I'm most looking forward to in Immortal Empires: Taking N'kari on one hell of a joyride through all the Elves' most sacred places and harvesting the their last millions and binging on their delectable souls for eternity.
Fun fact: Morathi has been the High Priestess of Slaanesh since before the sundering, while being one of the heads of Khaine's Dark Elf cult. She got back to Slaanesh during storm of Chaos but disguised her alliance with Slaanesh when the Storm of Chaos abated.

Thank you for explaining this whole topic. I love playing High Elves/Wood Elves, but always wondered why Slaanesh specifically played such a huge role with their societies.

I think a lot of people might underestimate it but it kind of puts into perspective how insanely powerful Malekith is that he was able to defeat N'Kari within the Realm of Chaos and in a wounded state to boot. But I guess N'Kari can have the last laugh since he has legit banged Mally's mom 😬

Yes, i found the Slaaneshi Druchii awesome GW introduced during the Storm of Chaos campaign back in 2004. Good times when GW still cared about fluff and storyline. Edit: bit off topic but hey it's a passion.
Question from a lore noob: in the past i read that the elven/Slaanesh connection in Fantasy lore is rather recent, and directly inspired from the (much deeper) Eldar/Slaanesh connection from 40k, as in that universe the Eldar decadence litterally created the God of Pleasure. Is this true or even before 40k there was a connection between fantasy Slaanesh and the elves?
Older lore had Morathi lead cults of pleasure and excess, and her status as a Slaanesh witch was rock solid. Gav Thorpe supposedly hated that angle, so she was changed in his writing and the End times to be not-slaanesh. Really dumb imo.

It is a bit frustrating to see Chaos get turned into fodder for the protagonists. If a Greater Daemon manages to appear, that is when named characters should start dying, not the other way around. Make Chaos Scary Again!
Tbf the big Slaanesh/HElf rivalry is N'kari Vs the twins, and they're all in the game already. Imo the remaining High Elf units would be far better suited to a DLC with Cathay, since they have several naval themed units left and there is a HElf colony in Eastern Cathay that would be a great location for them.
@@CloudianMH How so? They strike me as perfectly functional, especially so after the update at the end of Warhammer 2. Warriors of Chaos are up next update-wise it seems, after that I'd like to see Norsca and the Vampire Counts get one, in that order.
Will there be a similar video for the relationships of different gods to specific races? I'd imagine Khorne and the greenskins or Nurgle and the Dwarfs?

Morathi has a lot titles (Settra still beat her) but she´s never been high priestess of nothing (not even Khaine)

their is no conenction between 40k and fantasy and slaanesh was not created like she was in 40k in fantasy

Neither khorne nor Tzeentch have races they hate/obsess with like slannesh.
Nurgle hates both the dwarfs and the undead.
