Nice haul. Cheers, mate. Sorry about any damage that may have resulted. Hope ya have a Happy New Year. Sounds like Royal Mail is a royal pain in the bum. I got a nice haul of HO scale trains for Christmas. I won't bore you with all the details. However, I did get my first brass diesel. Cheers from eastern Tennessee
Just a few creases on the boxes, We`d had a ton of rain, I had another arrive couple of days later which was damp to. Brass Loco sounds nice. I had a little post christmas blow out and a few more Tank cars are on there way for the Norfolk southern in Norfolk, Thanks for watching
That Athearn hopper car is actually the box it left the factory in. It's known as an Athearn 'blue box' model, the very cheap end of the American model railway market, abit like Hornby and their railroad stuff. If its damaged, chuck it and get another one, they're 2 a penny on ebay.😂
Great haul there mate. The wet box might be unavoidable but the seller could have used a slightly longer box and put the 37's inside a trash bag to keep the damp off! I do this in Winter when I sell model trains that I no longer need as well as plenty of bubble wrap. £750 isn't cheaper and I hope the seller improves their packaging. Peter.
Some nice finds there Clive. It's a shame though that Snail Mail/the supplier managed to get the box wet of one of the parcels. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and your family. Mark.
Once again, you find all the great tidbits, but nice to see you found a cou0ple big ones on your "wants" list. The deal for the DCC locos was great and the trains set a real winner! Well played!
Hi Clive 👍 Hope you had a fantastic Christmas my dear friend? Some awesome bargains just a bit frustrating when you see that Royal Mail note and your heart sinks. Why shops and manufacturers just think chuck it in a box and that will do is getting beyond a joke! Wishing you a happy New Year Andy
I don`t know why they try a save a few ££s on skimping on packaging a return wipes out any saving. When I realised what was in the box. I was what the hell. I`ve lost them as they won`t have any more stock at the price they went for, they were ok, But I have a running vid coming out at the end of the week and they don`t seem problem free. I thnk it`s cv issues but i`ve not found an answer on the web.
Very nice. A pity about the packaging, as said, but I hope the loco's dry out well! I wouldn't use that 'Bag Of Rice' treatment but a nicely warm radiator can help. The Hopper Kit sounded like it was a bit of struggle but I couldn't see much difference in the paint, and certainly, no repair evidence. It did sound like a 'Kid at Christmas' un-packing the Bachmann Set but if it's what you wanted, good going, sir. I didn't know that about Bachmann set-track as I've had Hornby sets...R607's are 2nd Radius. Nice going! All the best for Christmas and the New Year, sir. Cheers!
Wow what at haul Clive! Looking forward to seeing the 37s run Lol how many MGRs do you have now lol Cant believe the state your parcel arrived in hopefully those 37s are all ok. Take care my friend
Hi Clive. Does look like a good result from ebay. Shame about the packaging. The 37 boxes don't look that bad Clive. If you go to sell them some people will use it to knock the price. Yes you do get them. Do like Bachmann train set a bit skimpy on the track. Thanks for showing us buddy. You and yours have a brilliant new year.🍾🍾 DELPH JUNCTION (Pete)
THanks Pete, yes for the money that set RRp at I would of expected a bit more track for play value, But hopefully when the Layouts built it will have several feet to run on.
I have neat MEK but this just wouldn`t hold strong enough to lock it in position, I think it had been like it a long while and bent it out of shape, but we won in the end.
@@newlynnrailway yer having no luck with deliveries.we have one model shop in dublin.i buy most of my bits from the uk and takes couple of weeks to arrive.touch wood not had your troubles
Hi, hope you had great Xmas, that Bachmann permanent way set is great, one came up on eBay the other day, you must be the person who won it, fair play to you as it’s a superb set, I have the coaches that come in the set, I nearly purchased the class 20 triple grey loco on a few occasions, I’m happy to say Bachmann re-released the loco again but this time it has directional and cab lighting, I will buy one without sound because I want Legomanbiffo sound in mine like my other class 20’s, it’s not cheap at £190 but it makes my set complete, I have a Loksound Plux22 decoder ready for it. I did ask the people from Bachmann at a model show if they would produce a yellow version of their breakdown crane in the future, they didn’t seem that bothered to be fair, I believe the crane in yellow livery would sell well if the price was right, thanks for sharing.
Yep thats the set waited a long while for one to surface, Yes I do like the old 20s but there sound files do let them down, there`s a long vid coming out end of the week were they all get a test, Yes a BR version would be nice of the crane, I nearly went for the clearance price but still couldn`t justify 150 quid on a crane so I`ll have to stick with my collection of Hornby one`s and HO one`s, Thanks for watching
@@newlynnrailwayI have the Hornby yellow livery crane and the original yellow livery breakdown coach that goes with it also the track cleaning wagon, these items are over 30 years old and have sentimental value so I wouldn’t ever sell them, I fell in love with the Roco digital slewing crane when I saw it on a video many years ago, I decided to buy one after many months of justification from Germany for a very competitive price, although it’s H0 scale it has a high loading gauge so it doesn’t look out of place among the 00 gauge items I have in my collection. Sticking to a budget is important but sometimes you have to say what the hell, your permanent way breakdown set is so rare these days, some sellers try to take advantage over that fact, I always say if I want an item bad enough I will buy it, I have been buying Bachmann JJA auto ballaster wagons, so far I have 8 of them, I been lucky with purchase prices to be fair, some sellers are selling the older used models for £80 - £90! They are still for sale because modellers are not buying them, the new weathered 2023 versions are £94 through the collectors club and Rails of Sheffield, they are quite rare but not worth that kind of money.
@@newlynnrailway It’s a shame British model railway manufacturers can’t produce a motorised crane, I guess it’s a limited market in the Uk with most of the focus is on locomotives then coaches followed by wagons. The Uk market has 2 very very old turntables which are the Peco and Hornby offerings, Heljan have a model that is similar to the Waltham offering, if you go to the European market they have about 6 of them some of which have sound! The European models are quiet reliable and mortised ready for dcc but they come at a price which is a lot of modellers will dismiss.
Probablly christmas Temp bob, mind the New guy came back the other day. spotted my name and the wrong house number didn`t match up, I could have lost a Heljan class 47.

Yeah I have had a few, sadly a lot of ebayers and Hatton/rails of sheffield seem to think there worth a lot more.

Peter.
Yeah could have been a lot worse if water had soaked right in.

Hi mark, yes had a few fails with RM last one was the 37 from TMC, luck of the Draw I guess. All the best to you had the family for the New Year.
The four bay hopper could be liveried as a polly bulk
I`ve a Joueff one re-done as a grainflow polybulk

Yes I went all in as I don`t think those offers will come around again, The set was a find, I`d forgotten I had it as a search it`s been that long.

Great haul there Clive, glad they all seem to be ok despite their arduous journey!!
Hi Ben yes was a relief, the box was very damp, theres a long vid coming were I test all the new loco`s not without some head scratching.
I found ringing Hatton is better than emails, as at least you get hold of someone than wait for a email
Yeah theres another video with more, but I`ll will be sorting them next week maybe they need enlighting to the Law and trading standard regulations
I have found that many mail order companies fail pack items logically. Often they cushion the top of the box and nothing more. Irrational.
Yes In my experiance in warehousing shipping, it boils down to ££s save on packing material vs cost and quantity of returns.
Nice video Clive. Look forward to seeing it all run.
Make space in your diary for an hour and a half, of trying to run trains video over the weekend, cheers
Merry xmas clive great lot to join the layout. look fowards to seeing the progress in 2024.
Thanks, just waiting game for better weather and start on some outdoor jobs and finish the site clearance, ready for a base

Yeah I left them a few Days before testing all my new Loco`s out there`s a lengthy video in the wings on that, All the best to you and yours.
that EZ commander came out in 2002 and they are still selling it.
Yes cheap for them I guess, but not for the consumer the unit not far off the discount price of an nce powercab now.
Nice video, shame about the packaging but the last set looks well nice 👍
Yes there`s a test vid coming at the end of the week on all the new stock some issues arise, but pleased with the P way set.
Lovely set to find
I`d waited so long I`d forgotten the alert was still set up, so to find a minter was a bonus
Wow what at haul Clive!
Looking forward to seeing the 37s run
Lol how many MGRs do you have now lol

Hi mate, yes there will be a long running vid over the weekend, think of it like a live but pre recorded in front of a studio audience,😁

Have ya tried using cellulose thinners as a plastic glue?same stuff as tamia extra thin at a fraction of the cost.

Lol. I thought that the other night as I was trying to find a home for them. 17 at the mo, not including the older DC ones. Oh MGRs 1 or 2 I think
nice buys clive
Thanks peter, tester video out at the weekend sometime.
I guess Postman Bob arrived again

Give me $750 and there would be at least 20 locos in that box. 😛
fortunately I payed half that but the stress was the same, but I know what you mean, Enjoyment is priceless
We like drama and waffle!
Waffle I can do, Drama i`m not so keen on, Lol
