Hello friends, today I want to show you 2 of the best ways to make Your Own Sanding Belt. For this purpose we need to use a hot air gun, 2 boards, Textile Sandpaper, Super glue and Glue C300. In the video I make 4 tapes, 2 of which with super glue and 2 with C300 glue. I will show you the easiest way to remove abrasive particles from the sandpaper. I recommend making sandpaper that is glued at angles of 45 degrees. at 45 degrees there is more area on which the glue is applied.

45 degree cut. 2.5 inch wide strip of nylon fabric. (parachute material or simular) Butt up the joints and saturat the nylon strip with super glue. Place it even on the 45 degree joint and place saran wrap over the strip and clamp or firmly hold down for about 60 seconds. Trim excess material and let hang over night. I have made a few thousands of these. Most for me but some for other knife makers. They hold up, quick to make, very durable, and anyone can do it.

Some of you guys amaze me,there are several much faster ,easier, and just as sufficient ways to do this.i had my last belt break on a jobsite and the hardware store was clised, closed, had a roll of actual ups grade box tape,I put some on the back of the belt, finished the job an 2 other jobs before I finally decided to change it out, that a temp fix but worked well,no glueing, gluing, or any of that,10 minutes and was back to work.the heat didn't even loosen the tapes grip.

Mate your a f### en Genius. I can actually now make my own sanding Belts in whatever size and grit I want. I have got a couple of older machines that I can't get belts for or there to exspensive. Plus I want to custom make a sander with different size rollers on it, and now I can because I now know how to do the belts. Cheers , will checkout more of your stuff.

There is no need to peel both the ends. Peeling the end which will go in the bottom is sufficient.

I looked everywhere for a vid on making sanding belts where the creator actually spoke instead of pointing. I've checked out four so far, no talkies. Weird but maybe only mute guys make belts.
As important, or more important than the manufacturer's arrows is to make sure that the top layer of the joint is pulling along the bottom layer. If you drive it the other way a tool will dig into the high spot and rip the joint apart.

i faced a problem with super glue it makes the joint brittle and less flexible, so if it works and did not blow it creates a bump, what do you think?
