I think that this lift was extended to serve the car parks (this is the only Otis 2000 in the shopping centre, and the building on Car Park L2 looks like an addition), there was probably a Schindler here originally that only served the shopping levels, which explains why there is only a single lift. Also, there has been rumors that Waterstones and the area below are going to be removed and refurbished, and a cinema built on Car Park L2.
