  • Lots of people will be sad about this one. Some of the best lifts at Bluewater - the 90s KONE TMS lifts in John Lewis - have sadly been modernized by OTIS. Aside from the obvious cosmetic upgrade (new fixtures), the mechanical upgrades have meant that the lifts seem to be a little slower (or at least less efficient) as they used to be.

The buttons inside sound like train whistles which is pretty cool, good job Otis

I haven't been to Bluewater since 2019 and so I haven't got a chance to ride these lifts yet, nor get one final ride before they got modernised. Its sad to see these go, but it had to be done, they were getting knackered. Obviously these will never be as good as the original Kones

Cheap Mod, exactly the same as John Lewis in Milton Keynes front Lift.

These mods suck, they look cheap, the button beep is horrible and cheap sounding, they're slower than before, and they're incredibly inefficient now, which is horrible, especially considering that they used to be incredibly efficient, I think it's safe to say my favourite part of them is the black outside indicators 😂
