I will be using the same surface I normally do for my reviews, that was just a quick demo but its still a little sensitive so I will need to check it a few times with my old style and if its more accurate and not much of a fuss I will certainly use it, so if you see it in my next review then I will have made my mind up lol :)
@@DartsReviewChannel how will you know which method is more accurate? You would presumably need a third method which is the most accurate but then if you have such a method then why not use that one?
@@medinabello19 Well I will rephrase it a little and expand. The old style works great with darts that are an even shape and grip but any strange shape darts or darts with wide and angular grips then its a lot of hassle to balance it right and probably not very accurate. The new device the darts sit in a channel so it should be straight forward, its just making sure the thing is balanced right and how fiddly it is to move the dart to find the C.O.G. The way I will test it is to use my old style with a flat straight barrel ring grip or one that I have done previously and then use the new method, if the C.O.G. is the same on both then I know the new method must be right so it should be easier to use and accurate when using the strange awkward darts :)
Yeah I expect a lot will now when they see this video, I did ask Target if they were coming to the UK but they never replied which seems to happen a lot these days.
Stick to the bit you have been using Darren seems slot less hassle and probably more accurate too, I've always balanced dart on the side of my finger to find the balance point, although I'm not that bothered by the balance, I've used the same set of darts for years and you get know pretty much everything about the feel and balance of darts.
Well it is and it isnt, for darts that are a weird shape or strange grip the old way is a lot of hassle to balance them, the new one should be easier as it has a channel to rest the dart in :)
Hmmm . not sure about me needing this one ! Maybe . Try using it on a solid surface....Certainly it will show the COG more clearly in your videos in my opinion ( which needs leveling itself likely lol) . BUT two gadgets that might prove useful to us darts nuts are one , a spirit level that fits between the sort of vertical wires denoting the twenty , which allows the board to be levelled , and second , a tape device which fixes to the bull with a dart point and hangs to the floor , showing board height and another length of tape which is stretched out diagonally to define the occy throwing distance . Both of these devices can resolve arguments about board settings ! I don't know the name of either device or where to source them , maybe you can let us know ?
Of course I will be using it on a solid surface, that was just a quick demo but regardless it is still very sensitive so will maybe test my patience lol! It should be more accurate but I will do a few comparisons to my old method to see if its so :) There is already dartboard levelers and tapes you can attach to the bullseye, been out for years now. Unicorn Oche Taper and others too. Already reviewed dartboard levellers.
@@DartsReviewChannel Thanks Darren . I will check online right now . Unicorn Ochemate Winmau Spirit Master Board Level Might be others ..... Xmas present sorted ! Ta
Mine works best when it is on a hard surface. I use a piece of oak under it when using it on a textured table. When I do that it works great, and is not too fiddley.
Yes the thumbnail pic I took is on a hard surface, video was just a quick demo but going to play about with it for a while and see which method I prefer :)
Interesting Darren BUT impracticale in regards to being super sensitive, most likely best left in a vacuum sealed room where it cant be knocked, interesting but fiddly
As in my thumbnail pic, video was just a quick demo but even on a hard surface its still a bit sensitive, but will be playing around with it, it should be less hassle for the awkward shaped darts anyway :)
Hardly expect its going to make that much money for Target, its a Target Japan product and not sold in most countries and unlikely to be bought in high numbers anyway as its not much use to most people, just an interesting tool to use in my case. But its a bit annoying overall so I may try and make something better like the old way I did it. In some ways new tool is better but I think if the dart has a strange balance its too sensitive and rocks back and forth so makes it really annoying lol
I'm laughing at all the comments telling you to use it on a hard surface. I understand you were just doing a quick demo on the clothed table lol. That should work better than the old way for some of the less grippy darts . Awesome review mate 🍀🍀
lol well if I had known people were going to be so concerned about that I would have done it on a hard surface lol But they are just replying to my comment about it been fiddly and pointing out the surface is not helping which is true but even so its still a little sensitive on a hard surface but I have had some practice with it now and its getting less to. I am too heavy handed I think lol Cheers! :)
These work really well usually but you have to use it on a surface where it can move freely (such as a normal wooden table). There's too much grip on the table you're using. When the table is level then the thing at the back will be in the middle (that's usually where you start it). You know the use of it quite well but your table surface is what's upsetting the use of it. Happy darting!
I know that was just a quick demo, it will be used on a hard glossy surface like my review pics :) I will try to level everything as much as possible before hand though :)
An interesting tool. I think it's more beneficial for guys like yourself who review a lot of darts or if you're Peter Wright 😅. Even for a beginner it could be a good investment to see what type of dart is best for you 👍🏼🎯
thanks for showing this tool looks interesting If they sell it here in Belgium in a shop, I will definitely buy it I have now bought an electronic point sharpener for dart points, also very handy now a good repointing tool I'm looking around for that now thanks for the good review
It works but its not always the best way, I still have a hard time to balance odd shaped darts or darts with strange grips and they take a lot of fiddling to get right so this should be easier with such darts and more accurate with those kind of darts.
it is and it isnt, I have a faff on with some darts with my old method so it could be less hassle with the awkward shaped darts or the ones with strange grips than my old way, will see though :)
I'm sure it's a lot easier and more accurate on a hard flat surface. Not a table with nappy wool cloth. Give that a try.
I will be using the same surface I normally do for my reviews, that was just a quick demo but its still a little sensitive so I will need to check it a few times with my old style and if its more accurate and not much of a fuss I will certainly use it, so if you see it in my next review then I will have made my mind up lol :)

It’s a real shame, it’s only available in Japan.

Too much friction with that table.

Nifty wee gadget hope target bring them out over here as I'd like to pick one up.
