The original color science literally reminds me of so many Korean tone up sunscreens that have a slight pink-ish hue to them. And they’re like 10$ lol. I just recently got the flex in fair I plan on layering it ontop of a nicer spf and using for makeup. Damn I hope it’s not too light now that I see how medium looks on you
Thanks for your honest opinions❣️ I bought the eye cream/spf a couple of years ago because of my sensitive eyes (they do not like anything but mineral spf near them). Very nice but such a splurge! 😬 I also invested in the Colorescience Glow version; and I use it specific for mixing with other SPF’s. I agree on the makeup aspect, and I would also like to try the Flex version for that reason. But it’s sooo awfully expensive…😳
Thanks for watching! And I agree-the prices are STEEP! I think mixing it as makeup is really the way to wear these, so thanks for adding that great point
I really agree with your assessment! I like the face shield classic for everyday but will always turn to a stronger organic sunscreen in summer weather
Hi - thank you for saving me money!! Can you suggest a mineral sun cream for the eyes with spf 50+ and a light tint that is available in the UK? Thanks!
Because of how heavy it is. Most people aren’t going to want to put a 1/4 teaspoon on their face, which is the proper amount to get 50 SPF. If you use it as a spf topper over another sunscreen then it’s icing on the cake and you can use less so it’s not as cakey looking. Hope that helps!
@@DanaRipperton oh I see, that makes sense. one of my go-to sunscreens is cosrx soothing aloe so maybe it would be best to use that as a base and then this one on top
@@DanaRippertonThis is SPF 50, PA ++++ so it's the best protection you can get if you use the recommended amount. So I could not understand why you were suggesting to use another sunscreen underneath this one. I now get that you are saying that the recommended amount may be too much product for some people. I know that Colorescience states that you can mix and match amongst their sunscreens, but I'm not sure about mixing their products with other brands. 🤷♀️
@@worldtraveler721 Listening to cosmetic chemists and dermatologists, it's my understanding that layering types of sunscreens is ok (ie: mineral on top of mineral or chemical on top of chemical). They don't have to be the same brand, but I always recommend layering and not mixing.
@@terridolecki8185 I still wouldn’t wear it to the beach because 1) I don’t like to wear makeup at the beach 2) just because you don’t burn doesn’t mean you’re getting the type of protection I like 3) I would never be able to wear the full 1/4 tsp for proper protection
Dear Dana, hello from Vietnam. Just found your channel and i enjoy watching your series on sunscreen very much. Quick question: would you say if these two are more light-weight and more dewy than the Australian Gold bb cream? I like how matte that one is. But it's quite thick to wear in such a hot & humid country like my motherland.
Hello!!! Oh, I definitely don’t think these are lightweight at all. The Australian Gold one is great but heavy for sure, but I don’t think these would be much better. The naked Sundays mineral one is rich in texture but I feel like it’s not actually that thick once on your face. I have a review on them coming next week! PS-I really want to visit Vietnam one day❤️🇻🇳
@@DanaRipperton Thank you so much for the super prompt reply. I look forward to your review on the Naked Sundays mineral one. And yeah, I hope you'll visit Vietnam one day. Make sure to bring a light-weight, not too dewy, and preferably water-resistant sunscreen with you, especially if you come in the summer. ^_^
I love the way you reviewed this. Clear and concise, perfection.

I know this is a year old, but just seeing it now. This is sooooo helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

im confused, if this is sold as spf 50 why do you think it is more of a makeup product as opposed to a good sunscreen?

I hated the flex 😩 so expensive so that one hurt but it got raving reviews
So crazy to me! I like it as MAKEUP but definitely not as sunscreen. And even as makeup that’s PRICEY for makeup you can find at the drugstore
I wore the flex on my face for a week on vacation at the beach, and I didn't burn at all. I burn easily.
There’s still sunscreen in it 🤗

@@wanderingteacher2336 Oh for sure! I live in the south in the US, so I'm familiar with that type of climate 🥵
I’ve tried the Flex & the original. The original is too pink for my skin tone. I hated the Flex, it’s too thick…yuck!
Yeah, I can see the appeal for some people and they did work for me somewhat, but I think the group of people they will work for is pretty limited
