Thank you so much for sharing this information with us and I'm still saving up for my dream Home 🏡 and I would love ❤for you to build it ❤❤❤🎉
Thank you! 😊
Agree with all your recommendations. I wonder when you will add solar with batteries to them. I know the economics in Texas aren't quite what they are here, but from the perspective of simple backup it is great. Some of them can even withstand Texas-sized hail.
Well we have had clients add solar. I think it is a great idea to plan ahead for this
To design your TB Barndo for grid-less solar, use small zoned, A/C units, 2 tons units or less, ducted mini-splits work great. Also upgrade to have your water heater, dryer and cook stove run on propane or electricity, as these appliances take a lot of battery power to run. Add an optional gas/propane connection to run a floor/wall heater in your largest room. Install a wood stove instead of a fireplace. Have your home oriented east/west where you can get good southern exposure from a majority of your Roofline. Josh built our home this way and we can run the entire house off solar and batteries, with zero grid power. 👍☀️⚡️
One upgrade I’ve yet to see is a built in counter depth fridge like a subzero. Also, I’ve not seen flush fit kitchen cabinets.
It’s all doable.. flush fit cabinets is a pocket grabber though. Also those subzero gonna set you back even before you get to the cabinet design.
Love the truck talks.
Thanks Roger! We are gonna keep em coming 👍😎
Can you do some of both the stained concrete AND the LVP (or LVP and carpeting, etc) and still have it be the entry level grade included in the package? Or would that cost extra?
It would depend on the size of house. If not careful could end up adding cost due to the margin of flooring change for very little floor sqft for each one with specialized installers needed for each one.
Definitely do business 💯
Thank you sir..
Great talk!
Thanks so much!
Hey Josh, why are you saying to go all electric versus propane and electric combination in a rural area? Can you elaborate?
Because we are building for air tightness we’re not looking to trap fumes inside of the home because this is working against the efforts. We believe at this point it becomes more advantageous to go all electric because we’re creating less demand anyhow due to keeping more of our heated and cooled air.
What are your thoughts on heated floors in TX? 😅
Well in Texas our ground is warmer. It’s not as common here, I don’t have a problem with it if someone wanted it but I’ve never had that request yet. 👍
@@TexasBestBarndominium Cool! I was just wondering as my mother's house is all tile and even here in the TX winter her floors were so cold.
I like heated seats and steering wheels... they are awesome to have and once you don't have them, you miss them even in TX. :)
Wondering why you swapped from ford, you like the rams better? Did you have issues with the ford since you have not bought any others?
I liked my F250 but I swapped it like 4 years ago when I switched to a flat bed truck for the use of hauling and all of the work we needed to tend to. Here lately I had to pass the truck I was driving on to the next guy for some of our heavy hauling needs. This truck is more similar to the Interior of the F250 I used to have but still has the hauling capabilities. Nothing against Ford but like the Dodge for hauling.
@@TexasBestBarndominium you like the ram till you drive an f450 king rancher! Wide track, for parking, commercial tires for long lasting, and low gearing for heavy hauling but yet damn nice interior! You wouldn’t go back to the ram!
Yes my Dad has that truck. It’s nice. We kept with the Dodge because it matches our fleet as well. The last truck I was in was a ram 4500 just didn’t have all the bells and whistles that the Laramie has. This truck feels like a sports truck because of the High Output. It’s a little punchy
Do you build in Tennessee? If not can you recommend a reputable builder?
I’m sorry we do not however we do have resources for those in other states. Check out BestBarndoPlans.com
