I had the chance to put the Peak Design to the test at a wedding, and let me tell you, in my professional opinion, it didn't quite live up to expectations. However, I must say, I was absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to try out the Spider Holster at another wedding yesterday. And guess what? It exceeded all my expectations! It's absolutely perfect for the fast-paced and comfortable shooting style that I prefer on wedding days.

Although I don't use this holster for my camera (yet) I've been using their holsters made for tools, and I'm really glad to see they've expanded. I use their holsters for heavy drills, and it has never failed me ever.

I use the Falcam F38 system, which I really like because it also can be used for tripods in addition to strap, holster, etc.

I prefer the Spider too, when I had my 5D3.
Kneeling down is a lot easier since it defaults to the lens facing back. I know the Capture Clip can be mounted differently, but it’s one less thing to think about.
Looking to get it again for my R62, I just bought.

haha you're faster than we expected lol! pd they do provide the other kind of torx that has to be tighten/untighten with a bar alongside with the product, but still, I'm kinda leaning towards spider more for your case of usage.

I am an amature . When I was young and skinny and had bony hips, the belt mounted Spider camera holsters might have worked for me. Alas, I am no longer skinny and a belt mounted holsters simply pulls my pants down. About 6 years ago I was looking for a way to have easy access to my LX-100, a relatively small but not pocketable camera. The Spider product I tried came with a velcro belt that solved one problem but the camera pad needed a larger camera to work efficiently. Still lonking for something other than cargo pants that works well with pocketable cameras.

I'm a travel and landscape photographer who's just gone mirrorless.
I had the original Spider Pro holster for years but wanted to downsize as the former came affixed to a big, chunky propretary belt.
I switched to peak design V3 with the Pro Pad, and even as a landscape photographer, I'm really disappointed.
I hate the weight of a FF mirrorless on one strap, so I'm using it on the belt instead.
The smoothness of the Spider is sorely missing. The PD's way of attaching is really fiddly and I wish they'd put the release on the front side so I could use my left hand. With the spider pro I could lift the camera and unlock with one hand. The lock is much smaller and hidden away - a professional thief who's familiar with the PD design will have no problem with the PD clip. Feeling secure from opportunist pickpockets is really important for travel.
I didn't realise Spider did these little lightweight belt clips now! I'm selling my PD and going back to Spider. The action is just far, far smoother. You never have to even look - by the end of day one it was second nature to me to pull the camera and return it single-handed without looking. It's a much better design!

I dislike the Spider base plate mount takes up valuable space on the bag. If you are working on speed, it's not all a mounting challenge. If you move to 2 zooms it will help you be much more efficient. You might even want to try the Tamron 35-150.

This will irritate you within weeks I just sent back my dual belt upgrade and selling my belt on Ebay. Those pins sticking out under your camera you can't put the camera down flat to take a photo and the left side with the plate is designed that the lens has to face forward. I've just bought the 2 peak designs and the slide strap I think the answer to the loosening is to use the other screws and leave them on a belt permanently
