    Thanks for sharing this Tim. Me and my wife has been contemplating a lot about our retirement. We have a lot of questions not only on cost of living but also on dual citizenship. A lot of my friends also are quite confused about this. I hope you can share more about how it is going for you guys there in this aspect.

    Good video
    I'm looking into Philippines as a retirement choice.
    You can't beat that cost of living.
    I saw a video simplistic couple lived on 550 a month in the Philippines.
    I don't even think 1 person can get buy with that amount in Canada.

      Thank you for watching and the kind comment. 😊 Prices have gone up a little but still so much less expensive than Canada 🍁 Vancouver was our home before coming here and what a difference.

      Thanks so much Tom. Once I get back I know there will be months that are less and some that are more but at least we know roughly what our monthly cost over there will be. 😊

    Useful info, Tim. You must have a very efficient aircon there. Our electric bill is normally around the 3,000peso mark in our new place, but in the last townhouse it ran over 5,000! Of course, much of that was trying to overcome the sun baking the walls of our bedroom, which retained a lot of heat into the evening. Lesson learned about things to look out for when selecting a place in the tropics.

      Hi Andy. We bought a new LG 1.5 hp aircon unit and almost anytime we're there it's running. I think it helps a lot that only one wall is exterior and that's a relatively small area exposed to the real heat. I still never expected the bill to be so low though because I'm anything but energy conscious. 😅

    Your cost of living for the month is almost the same as ours was in 2019 when we were there, ours was between $920 and $950/m for everything, but with everything going up, it might be a bit more when we get back in June.

      Thank you for the comment and for watching. I know we can maybe live cheaper some months, but there will be some more expensive ones too.
      I imagine you're looking forward to getting back over and counting down the days.

      It goes by square meters and I can't remember the peso per square meter now but I have figured a place the size of ours will be about $75.00 Canadian per month. They haven't started charging us just yet because the amenities weren't ready to use at move in.

    Great video! Can you also tell us how much is the monthly condo dues?

    • @timsretirementjourney8323
      @timsretirementjourney8323  2 года назад

      Thank you for watching and the kind comment. Due to the fact that the amenities aren't quite ready yet we haven't had our condo fees charged up until now, but they go by square meters and a unit the size of ours 27.3 the monthly condo fees will run around $75.00 Canadian or $60.00 US.
