TopTennis version is great as well. But this peculiar trick with the hitting spot on the strings bed looks very very special. Will give it a try tomorrow morning. )))
Takao is an extraordinary teacher, I'm totally surprise that he hasn't been hired by some of the pros in order to refine their technique or in some instance to teach them from scratch how to serve...
I enjoy the advice each pro gives to each other. My tennis mentor always framed his teaching style with “this technique worked for me”. That allowed the student to try something new and recognize there are lots of subtle ways to hit strokes!
This technique IS Amazing, the lower i toss the more net clearance i have and spin also... Its almost a 100% first serve in...with extrême side spin and big bounce and power foward... Amazing.
This looked like a great lesson. Hopefully these tips will help me to finally hit a slice serve. Thanks for the English subtitles. It's cute how they bow to each other before the lesson starts! Great respect.
This explains why I always broke the same string at the same spot. I always figured it was my natural motion and now it's confirmed. I saw Martina's stick once with a bunch of stringalings at this spot. We were both exclusively SnV.
wow! thank you so much for this lesson!! this makes so much more sense. I've been having the same problem where I was spinning the ball so much on my slice serve that i lost all power and consistency. Most other RUclips instructors tell you to "carve the ball".. which for me results in that excessive racket angels and spin. I can't wait to try this out next time i practice serves! thank you both! teacher for your great lesson, and student for putting your "weaknesses" out there for us to join you on your journey 🙂🙏
My friends, this is incredibly useful instruction. Up until now, I did not know about striking the ball below the highest point of my swing. It makes complete sense! Also, thanks for pointing out where on the racquet face we should hit. Your demonstration of arm pronation is spot on. I love it and will definitely practice everything you have advised. Thanks!
Outstanding instruction on the slice serve and what he is actually doing concentrating on making contact with the upper inside portion of the stringbed. He did not mention doing the same thing on kick serves, but I would think it would be just as effective. Only difference would be instead of attacking the upper outside of the ball like he does for slice, he would attack the lower inside portion of the ball for kick.
Great tips. Love Takeo pro's service motion .. so smooth and easy on the shoulder, arm, bod. I too somewhat recently came to the realization that serve would be contacted a bit lower and on the right side of the body as your core & shoulders unwind and your elbow comes forward which corresponds with a natural over the top throwing motion. Takeo's tip on the proper contact point to achieve slice by hitting the ball from behind & to the right slightly below the highest point of the swing (vs trying to hit around the right side of the ball) seems spot on.
Big nerd here. I love anime and manga. I LOVE tennis. My favorite anime and manga is Baby Steps. Watching this was a treat. If someone here loves anime, japanese culture and tennis. I would recommend babysteps.
Hi, Thanks a lot for your vidéos. Very helpful. I now have a slice serve with power. I would love a video on the return. Arigatô gozaimasu Pascal from France
Differing the grip slightly and small toss change ( in placement) is the most trustworthy method. This will allow MINIMAL thought during action. If you have to think about it , you'll never use it in matchplay ! Big help is the snapping down and in to your side of your toss arm. Try to tuck your tossing elbow , quickly , into your hip. This changed my consistency in ONE session. AND ! its easy to remember in matchplay.
Fantastic trick and superb lesson, but in fact this IS for example exatly the way federer does. That "slick" in Deuce court between top spin and sidespin ... Amazing serve. Thanks you !
You'll find what's amazing is, fed can actually serve this way and a more vertical on edge way as well, he changes it whenever he wants, he also carves around the ball which a lot of youtube coaches teach. basically he knows how to slice the ball in all ways and kinda picks which one he wants whenever......when he goes for a hard slice 1st slice serve, he goes vertical on edge and amends the face of the racket at point of contact....
@@ManagerMia absolutely, he has 2 diffrent slice. Its a shame he never tried underarm serve or reverse slice, it should be Amazing i Guess ... He Can touch any area of serve box.. with any spin or power ... The best server of all Time
Hello Coach; This is a very useful video, first of all, thank you. If you excuse me, I have a question for you. I understand very well the point of hitting the ball with the shuttlecock in the service, but what should be the direction of the shot when throwing the ball into the air? In the video, I see you standing parallel to the baseline and throwing the ball to the right, parallel to the baseline. Is it true? I would be very happy if you could inform me about this. Kind regards
Hi Takao, Do you contact at the vertical 2nd to 3rd string on all the wide, in the body, and down the T for the deuce side? Also, do you hit on the upper right of the ball for 3 serve ? Thank You from USA

Thank you for watching our video. We will resume updating from July! Please subscribe and wait! Thank you from Japan.
Please do a video on Forehand by Mr Takao Suzuki. I simply love his teaching and he is the best teacher on the internet.
My new favorite tennis channel. The "don't toss to the left and move under the ball" may be the best serve tip ever.
This's the best video for teaching slice serve i've seen.
Spot on Josh H
Thanks to whoever is doing the english translation !! great job! Takao's knowledge needs more spreading! such effortless and fluid serve!
Wow.... Takao is a huge master... It's amazing the way he teaches everything in such understandable way
I enjoy the advice each pro gives to each other. My tennis mentor always framed his teaching style with “this technique worked for me”. That allowed the student to try something new and recognize there are lots of subtle ways to hit strokes!
I have been struggling with my powerless slice serve for a long time. the secret to hit more inside of the racquet really worked. Thank you so much!

Because of your tutorial my serve really improved.thanks a lot . Hoping for more techniques
Definitely saved this, my flat serve honestly wear my shoulder
Thank you for your English version, it’s really helpful!

This is instruction gold. Im so excited to try this out next time I’m on the court!
What amazing skill it is!I expect that you will upload the new video about the aim the serve soon.
I love how they produce so much spin and power effortlessly
Wow. This slice serve lesson is amazing.

Amazing technique, thank you guys.
The traslation is hard to understand.. but thanks! , Great tip, I always loved the way Takao played.
So great first video I’ve seen from you guys and I already love this channel!
Already the third time to review it. The content is informative.
and... I'd really like to see master Takao's Kick serve ! ;-)
Great job , guys: It´s fun watching the two of you, and these slice serve tips are amazing. Thank you very much!
If I could go to Japan once, I would ask my master to teach me how to serve. too cool 🥰
Thank you very much for the video and tip. I played yesterday evening and used your suggestion and it worked great! Domo arigatou!

Excited to try this out! Thank you!
Gosh, he makes it look so easy :-). Great video!
Great video. Amazing tip. My serve has spin but no power. I'll try the tips.. Thank you.
Incredible lesson. Thanks a lot.
Great insights. Love this video and really like the channel.
This is a very good point on the slice serve. Thank you!
Excellent instruction. Any plans to do a video with Takao on the ground strokes?
Very nice video with amazing technique and explanation by a professional player. Thanks again!
This is extremely high level tech. for serious leaner or pros.
This is also the meaning of pronation while serving.
Big nerd here. I love anime and manga. I LOVE tennis. My favorite anime and manga is Baby Steps. Watching this was a treat. If someone here loves anime, japanese culture and tennis. I would recommend babysteps.
this teaching value gold
Takao oh my God !!! You are a perfect teacher
Thanks for sharing this! I'll try to apply that!
Is Takao the same player who almost defeated Roger?
yeah, went to 3rd set tie break
Superb, very High level demonstration. Thanks !!!
Mind blowing..... game changer
Amazing lesson!
Hi, Thanks a lot for your vidéos. Very helpful. I now have a slice serve with power. I would love a video on the return.

@Star Tennis Academy great explanation …I’m going to try it….what about kick serve?do you have a similar video?
this is too good. Domo!
the sound is a key but i think the sound too has a disguise when the string is or the ball changes
Thank you for the tutorial
Slice to the deuce side in doubles very effective.
Hi guys could you please do a slow motion of the slice serve plus more explanation about the contact point. Thank you.
Thanks for the English subtitles.
Arigato. This is excellent. Wish I knew Japanese.
This is good level advice. The slice serve is deceptively hard to master.
OMG what a lesson !!!!!

Wow. Amazing. Thanks. Can you teach the basic flat serve.
Good tip
Very nice
Really good content!
Great video . Thank you . Does this theory work the same on hitting a topspin forehand ie making contact on the stringbed inside ? Thank you
Very good stuff
What a surprise❕❕😲English version~
😎😁💕

The "brush" motion going from under/behind the ball to sliding up/right at the contact point.

Hi guys! I tried this on the tennis court but my ball goes to the right instead of left. Wondering why I can't make it goes to the left.
I like tennis
Hi Takao,
Do you contact at the vertical 2nd to 3rd string on all the wide, in the body, and down the T for the deuce side? Also, do you hit on the upper right of the ball for 3 serve ?
Thank You from USA
That's like Sampras serve technique.
I have been trying to serve this technique but the ball doesn’t go to the left.
7:13 10:15 11:00 14:09
すごい😃
Gr8 one
String tension please?
He said to keep the ball toss low for the slice serve , so then also the opponent can guess with the height of the ball toss ?
My subscribers, I need your support. Thanks👌😉👍
Does this demand toss not to be 1 -2 feet inside the court. Roger does the same, but toss is well inside the court.

For me this is the kick serve
Its looks like your grip is one use for backhand to do the slice serve.

its called delaying the pronation
is he advocating a lower ball toss? my fear it is the ball will go into the net unless he using a topspin-slice motion for clearance
No. 14:05 is what he is stressing.
I will say again, it is difficult to look at a video and read text ! Time text is on the screen is to short , so reading it I don’t see the video. I would like to watch you but because of it I don’t, sorry!
🎾👀👍👍
It's just awkward to intentionally produce spin just like people like FH grip like semi western or western to generate spin.
