You need much thicker strings than a standard set. On my PRS, I use a 14-70 since it's only got a 25 inch scale. It holds really well in drop B and drop A#. But your fingers take quite a beating.
My PRS has a 25.5 inch neck and I am currently using a 10-52 set by Elixir. Best set of strings I have ever used (been buying the same set for almost two years now) and I can go as low as Drop A# (as in this cover) with no tuning issues at all. Essentially a light standard set on the treble strings and a heavy set on the thicker strings, giving you the best of both worlds. Works extremely well for me.
