Hello again from the land of Dracula, România! Hopefully will have a beer soon! A lot of work to accomplish building a kayak! Keep on going, goodluck !
haha yaman. love it here. wish it didn't snow sometimes, so that i could skateboard and work outside 100% of the time, but something about braving the elements and making it work too!
Great film, love the gags. Kayak gonna be rad! Extra hard project because of shoulder. Ouch. Take it from me, the older you get, the longer the recovery time. : ) Enjoy your youth! Mahalo for sharing! : )
I have built two Pygmy stitch and glue boats and have to say you did very well first time out. You will love the resulting light strong and fast boat. I paddle the Niagara River and these boats handle big fast water very well.
@@AndrewSzeto A tip for your next step: When you start tightening the wires to minimize the gap and shape the boat (the stitches do most of the shaping) do not tighten each wire completely until you have the shape and lines of the chines straight. Tighten them in pairs from the center outward to the bow and stern. "Safety wire pliers" evenly and perfectly twist wires with no blistered fingers.
@@AndrewSzeto I’m not posting anything now but maybe I should start. I’m about to start the fiberglass. I’ve been delaying it for a couple weeks now. It’s a scary step.
This is going to be cool! Looking forward to this project, as well as the cabin build and the streamliner-build, Andrew! If I may ask: What's with the arm brace, are you injured?
May I suggest one thing: audio between bgm and voice seems un-balanced. If you can increase voice audio, it would be perfect. If not too much, I'd also like more frequent video upload like once a week, too. How's your air stream reno going? Otherwise, I really like your channel.
James! Really appreciated this man. I will take your advise and up my voice. Always thought it was slightly soft. It's super freezing in Canada at the moment, so keeping work outdoors to a minimal for now haha. It will be back in action come the spring/summer!
wood is pricey nowadays and i literally talked to a bunch of wood suppliers and no one is selling 1/8" marine grade ply in canada. it's a monopoly i tell ya.
@@AndrewSzeto I totally understand. I bought a way overpriced cedar barrel sauna kit last year. Didn't have much of a choice because everything else was unavailable for 4 to 6 months.
@@bkbroiler8069 oooh i am curious how much that kit was haha. i think i am going to be building one in my backyard, but going with a wild whimsical design that probably doesn't make any sense haha
Can't wait for pt. 2 I'm starting a kayak build but I'm cutting it out my self from my cnc router
You make the best videos to watching whilst drinking the first coffee of the day
Great build! Can't wait to see the top! Give me a shout in the spring to help with either the airstream or the cabin 🗜️

Building this with a shoulder brace is bad ass.
haha ya i separated my shoulder
Love what you do man. Get yourself some Collins spring clamps if you don't have any, they really help with more delicate glue-ups. Big up from BC.
ooooh thanks dave! good call!
Love to see it!
ayeee love you my guy! skate/hang soon brah!
This is so dope! Great video, I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
thanks soo much for checking this out! means a lot and hope it will come out! haha gonna put some good time and effort into this bad boy!
Ugh...you have me looking at kayak kits now 😑Looking forward to seeing the end product!
bahahaha fun! i'll keep you posted on the process here for sure!
Have you used bear mountain boats before?
not for a kayak but for a canoe. they're great!

i am, i separated my shoulder 3 weeks ago. slowly recovering. thankfully it's not any worse, just a weak shoulder that I have to keep somewhat steady.

it will for suuure! hahaha (i hope 😂)

Why is that guy wearing a winter hat indoors?
My last canoe cost less than this kit. We'd be better off buying a book on how to do it from scratch.
