I am also legally blind bigtime gamer. This helped me a ton. I prefer controller also and recently got back into WoW and its been hard. Thank you so much. Subbed. 🙂
I use Hekili to tell me what to cast next. When I'm setting up, I bind buttons with LT first as Hekili tells me, then as I use the setup more, I move the most used buttons to ABXY then to the d-pad. If I have to go beyond those eight, I do the same thing with LTRT. Since I'm already holding LT in combat, it feels more natural to just add RT rather than switching to just RT. RT is generally my out of combat stuff like mounts and professions. That all started making things easier after I saw that you really only use action bars with triggers or bumpers. I don't really use my bumpers because I've gotten so used to one finger on each trigger, trying to use triggers and bumpers together just confuses my hands. Love the new unitframes.
Started WoW again only because of playing with controller ! I just love as I can play WoW from my couch ! Do you have class and talent specific "how to set up" videos ? If not that would be awesome as you could make those !
Love your video as usual dude. Always so interesting watching the way you modify wow to work for you. I'm curious is there one feature that WoW doesn't allow you'd really like?
That is a good question! In relation to consoleport/controller support, I'd say Unit Frame navigation. I've found ways to make it work, but FFXIV's full controller support still blows them out of the water. I wish Blizzard would just add full controller support to the game. Aside from that, I'd say that the hardest thing for me is visual sensory overload. Particularly in group content. Most of the time, there are so many spell effects on screen that it can be hard to tell what's going on. I would say this is the game's biggest issue that needs addressed for me.
Need a bit of help i cant get LT/RT to open. When I press both it quickly shows me the key bindings then quickly switches to just LT bindings even while still holding both triggers
Thanks for this video bro I’m just starting out in WoW tww and not just a noob to WoW but also a noob to PC gaming and also a visually impaired player like yourself ( totally blind in the left eye and partially in the right with short sightedness too) so this video to me might be a blessing as I’m new to gaming with keyboard and mouse and getting use to it but at a much slower pace than the average player lol 😂
Welcome to the game and to PC gaming! It can definitely feel overwhelming at first, but the good news is that there's a lot out there that can help. Between what the game offers and through mods, you can make the game work for you. Best of luck and I hope that you have a great time with the game!
I have been using ConsolePort and my ps5 controller since watching your videos. I can honestly say that it brought me back into WoW, and I am loving it even more than ever. I would like a ConsolePort video showcasing more advanced features, such as how to hide when not in combat. Also, how the hell do you get your utility ring like that (built-in ConsolePort). Cheers
How do you bind Opie to a button on the controller? And how do you add in the ALT buttons? When I bind alt to a button it shows the actual button names and seems that I can't bind skills and whatnot to them.
Controller healing I really struggle with targeting allies and also dispels. AOE heals are great but hard targeting is rough, especially if you need to do it fast
It's definitely the hardest aspect of controller play. I'm going to be healing my first ever dungeon soon and I'm going to share the experience and show how I do it. We'll see how it goes!
@The_Kephas if you can figure out targeting and dispelling it will work. I set targets to dpad up and down and cycle them that way, but dispels are still a nightmare
Struggle? How? You do know you can have raidcursor on which is like mouseover on raid/party frame that you move with D-pad?🤭 It is in the consoleport settings.
Thanks so much for the video. I was curious how you handle kicking enemies that need to be kicked like in M+ content especially if the enemies are stacked together. Thanks!
Wish I had this a month ago when I first started with Controller. I struggled my way through it with various videos, but long story short it feels like WoW was MEANT to be played with a controller. I'll never use my keyboard again. The radial keyboard for texting in chat is also great. I wish Blizzard would make WoW fully controller supportable. You still cant start M+ groups in Dungeon Finder with Controller because blizzard stops APIs from typing in that window when naming the group.
Main issue that concerns me is targeting. I hear that strafing and kiting is impossible when using controllers? Is it possible to use the right joystick as a mouse instead of (or maybe coupled to) moving the camera angle?
I've never used petals personally, but if there's a way you can keybind them, then binding them to those modifiers should in theory work with consoleport.
I have watched a few videos where you talk about OPie, but I am not sure how to bind it to the controller. On OPie I have a ring set to L2R2 < but using this does not initiate the ring. What am I missing?
I'm honestly not sure. But if you happen to have L2 and R2 set as modifiers through consoleport, using 2 modifiers won't activate an opie ring. You can use modifiers but you have to have an actual button that's not just a modifier to go with them.
I really love the new unitframes you're using. I have them mostly recreated now. You keep forcing me back to ElvUI with your changes. I really don't like ElvUI, it's so difficult to actually strip it down of all the stuff you don't want. With your last unitframes, I had them mostly recreated using shadowed unitframes and weakauras. I might have a go at trying to do the same thing again.
Can it be played exactly like FF14? I dabble between both games and Ff14 controler gameplay is sublime, to a point I stopped using M&K while playing it
It's not a 1:1 but it's pretty close. I have mine setup to be as close to FF as I can. Unfortunately, wow doesn't have the targeting capabilities that FF has. Particularly when it comes to targeting party members. That's the only major difference.
You dont need to target party members, raidcursor is there for that reason. It works about the same as in xiv, with the difference that you can also use left and right d-pad on big groups
Yes! The addon supports Steam Deck. I've never personally used one so it may require some button configuration, but a lot of people play wow on the deck using this addon.
I am also legally blind bigtime gamer. This helped me a ton. I prefer controller also and recently got back into WoW and its been hard. Thank you so much. Subbed. 🙂
Blizzard needs to hire the maker of console port, take it the last few steps to natively support controllers and then get wow on consoles
Agree!
Facts. Been using it since I came back to the game about a month before the expansion dropped after quitting during WoD. Been so fun.
10/10 would buy a console and wow for it
Video about healing with a controller will be very very helpful!
Ty for your hard work 🌟🌟
Thank you for doing this!! We need more tutorials on consoleport for WOW.
Good job!
Been playing since BC,
I've always wanted to give the controller a try.
This is extremely helpful, tyvm!🎉

I have really bad hands and console port saved my WoW playing life. Without it I wouldn’t have been able to play again. 😢 actually genius addon.
My partner has RP and plays retail and M+. I saw your gui and it got my interest piqued for controller use. Keep it up!!!!
I hope something I've shared is helpful!

Just started SoD on a steam deck and its crazy how good it is so far.
Did you have to install windows on it?
@@AceTheMadAngel no its not needed

Love this bro. Still real early leveling but hoping my abilities change on my buttons when i shape shift.

Thank you Kaphas bro. Do you know if the Bluetooth keyboard that clips on the PS5 controller works to give even more button options and even chat

Love the video and thought about using a controller multiple times. What addon are you using for that party frame/player frame?

The alt modifier is not show on the action bar, have you a solution ?
what is the UI called for your frames? looks amz
How to install gse macro on command panel ?

@thekephas is there a way to integrate foot pedals for shift, cntrl , alt. That would really make it easy

I only started playing wow this week because of this console port. I have an injury that makes it difficult to play on mouse and keyboard
Welcome to the game! I'm glad this addon has been as useful for you as it has for me. I hope you enjoy your time in wow!

@eeronikunlassi2959 this is so helpful thanks
I play on my steam controller years now. Best way, but only dps/ tank, healer is to much target jumping. It can be made but its to much
As i pointed out above, use raidcursor. It makes a cursor on raid/party frame that you move with d-pad and works like mouseover
Could you share your xp bar please ?
What ui are you using?
Can I use it on a stream deck my dude ???
Yes! The addon supports Steam Deck. I've never personally used one so it may require some button configuration, but a lot of people play wow on the deck using this addon.
@ it works fantastically on the deck, so glad I’ve got it just before the fresh classic servers 😁😁😁
I'm just waiting to jump back into WoW until I can fully configure 100% of everything exclusively from a controller, just like in FFXIV.
I used xpadder
First :)
