They say you can never go home again, but Boogie2988 has decided to return home to see what’s left of his mother‘s and grandfather‘s home and Pound Virginia. This was originally there home but unfortunately it seems to have dilapidated. This is a continuation of the series I did with Mcjuggernuggets called my origin story. I hope you enjoy it.

Boogie I grew up in SW Virginia and I can tell you that construction is coming in the Wise county direction in the next decade or decade and a half. The value for that lot the way it sits will easily go up times 5 or more by the time you retire. Pay the property tax yearly, let it sit, and it will be a great retirement for you. Don't be rushed or eager to sell please.

As a former employee of Red Onion State Prison, I would never worry about an inmate escaping. But I understand not wanting to be close to that hell hole in general. Depending on the acreage of your property you could sell it decently easy if you're just wanting a fair price, considering land and housing prices are sky high everywhere right now.

To go back and see my grandparent's home upgraded and modernized. No thank you. The memories are sweet and that home still exists there.
Boogie, your old family home will molder and collapse and be no more. But the trees will still stand tall and proud. Like you. And someone can make new happy times there.

Sometimes the thing you can’t stand is something you’ll miss when it’s gone. For example, I grew up with a house near a set of train tracks. Every night a train would come by and it would keep me up when I was trying to go to sleep.
Fast forward until I was about 17 we moved to another state. No train track, no train, no noise. I had trouble falling asleep for months. I missed it.
Point being is make sure you really want to get rid of it before you do.

Thank you for sharing this. I'm not entertained by it... It makes me feel like I know you that much more. You are a very good, very cool person. You might hear that and think about some very not good, or very not cool things you've done... but I've never seen you shy away from your humanity. Both for you, and for others, and how you think about life experiences. You know part of humanity is accepting that no human is perfect.
In your last video, you said (or alluded to) that your journey these last few years were loaded with mistakes on how you ran the channel. I think a lot of what you said you did wrong, was actually right. The Francis sketches aren't my thing, Talking about random shit like games and what not are entertaining enough. But when you wanted to talk about an issue, I respected your take. You didn't need to have answers. You would just give me things to think about, or to chew on, as they say.
And when you got personal I respected it. I didn't pity you, I didn't get angry at you, I wasn't entertained by you. I just respected you. Your experiences kinda became my experiences. You taught, and I learned, about life from a character worth respecting. Your character. You. (Not Francis... You, a man of great character)

It’s really crazy to me, as someone now trapped in a country with far more limited land access and - honestly - land rights due to the British upper class stealing it, then selling it off to support their lifestyles (not that I’m bitter), to see a family house literally overgrown, and someone talking about owning what to me are unimaginable tracts of land.
It… really puts things into perspective. Here in the UK, that land would sell for serious dollars, assuming it still had outstanding residential zoning, and a property the size of the average US home would be worth an easy quarter to half a million pounds - more if it was in the south east. If we translate and assume it’s in a deprived area like the north east or west of England, then it’s still likely hundreds of thousands of dollars in land value alone.
Most of us are trapped into renting, my partner and I only just managed to scrape owning our property, and are trapped in a subsistence existence to continue owning it.
To imagine a family would let such a huge piece of land rusticate- well, I know it does happen, but it feels almost outrageous and tragic to my mind.
Which really goes to show, you can’t go home :- I can’t because all my homes after my first were either rented or were church-owned property (something which really annoys me now my mother is lucky to have a small communal flat, what precisely is the church doing to care for her?) and that first home was, at last glance, with over seven times what we sold it for, at a cool 3/4 of a million pounds.

I just hate to see good value and money go to waste. I completely understand though. I guess you could look at it several ways. You could sell and rid yourself of it or break the cycle and turn it into a paid for home for yourself that YOU defeated. Im glad your finding peace with it buddy. But this the opinion of random person, ask your relatives and therapists if you really want.

I would buy it but it is really far from my family. A beautiful cabain would be nice after living my whole life in the city.
It is a beautiful place. Of course it definitely changes when you have intense, sad memories attached to the place. But for some other person apart from Boogie, it seems like the perfect place to rest, play with your dogs and your kids while your lovely wife laughs and the ribs are slowly getting smoked.

Holy cow. $28,000 for a house and land? Are you joking? Here I am thinking about getting a car for $40k and you’re telling me I can a buy a whole ass property for less than that? Wow. You just blew my mind, Boogie

What is this, the 3rd, 4th, 5th, variation of this video you've made now? And you still haven't got a landscaper to clear the brush
