They say you can never go home again, but Boogie2988 has decided to return home to see what’s left of his mother‘s and grandfather‘s home and Pound Virginia. This was originally there home but unfortunately it seems to have dilapidated. This is a continuation of the series I did with Mcjuggernuggets called my origin story. I hope you enjoy it.
Your able to live your life. We all have bad memories. Don't let them control you.
Don't worry. He's just using them to milk views and attention
Just remember everyone is different but the most important thing is having a loving heart
Theres always a sense of sadness and nostalgia when revisiting places from our childhood. Time marches on, we grow and move on but we always remember where we came from.
Boogie I grew up in SW Virginia and I can tell you that construction is coming in the Wise county direction in the next decade or decade and a half. The value for that lot the way it sits will easily go up times 5 or more by the time you retire. Pay the property tax yearly, let it sit, and it will be a great retirement for you. Don't be rushed or eager to sell please.
Naaa, leave nature be
i live in wise VA rn
is his land he can do what he wants with it.@@jamesaragonastudio6476
I'm so sorry Boogie that your true biological original home looks like if you truly heartbroken but you have a new home in a new life you need to live in that life well
Man i remember watching this on storyfire back in the day, after years of your stories it was interesting putting actual visuals to it
Story fire was only like 6 years ago Vs the 13ish he’s been on youtube
That was an amazing video!
I love this kind of content Boogie. I really enjoyed the last time you uploaded content of your home town.
More to come!
Nice, Can't wait to see it. @@boogie2988
Me too
@@boogie2988 You should buy that Shed house back in South saint Paul.......... FREAK OUT and embrace being crazy
As a former employee of Red Onion State Prison, I would never worry about an inmate escaping. But I understand not wanting to be close to that hell hole in general. Depending on the acreage of your property you could sell it decently easy if you're just wanting a fair price, considering land and housing prices are sky high everywhere right now.
not the house fault it was the people in it that made it that way.
Wow, i remember when you came back here a few years ago. It was toigh to watch. Glad youre doing okay though, Boogie
Glad your doing better!
My old childhood homes have good nostalgic memories. Im very blessed. But i never go back, dont go visit them, dont want to. Because you see, i want to remember them in my heart and memories. To go back and see my grandparent's home upgraded and modernized. No thank you. The memories are sweet and that home still exists there.
Boogie, your old family home will molder and collapse and be no more. But the trees will still stand tall and proud. Like you. And someone can make new happy times there.
It's funny to me that he lives in Arkansas but his southern accent only comes out when he goes to Virginia
Therapist says it’s a form of regression, I guess.
that far away gaze as he looks at the house as if he's lost in memory.. not great memories.. truly haunting...
I was-thinking the same thing!
Nature stepped in to protect Boogie from this place.
I am so sorry for all your childhood trauma. 😢
Everything changed when you did the psychedelics. That is the nature of things. I am proud of you boogie.

Been a fan for years Boogie. Since 2008. I know that revisiting is hard to do at times. But it's really a blessing in disguise to see how far you have come over the years. Their is people that do love love you and your content. You help me out with your videos when I'm depressed. Thank you for that. Know your worth. You are loved.
Sometimes the thing you can’t stand is something you’ll miss when it’s gone. For example, I grew up with a house near a set of train tracks. Every night a train would come by and it would keep me up when I was trying to go to sleep.
Fast forward until I was about 17 we moved to another state. No train track, no train, no noise. I had trouble falling asleep for months. I missed it.
Point being is make sure you really want to get rid of it before you do.
Time heals what it cant decay. Love ya Boogs!
I'm excited for Halloween 🎃
That’s scary to think of a house being close to a security prison.
Said to my self, looks like a peaceful quiet place to live.... immediately after, 4-5 miles down that road is a maximum security prison.
Yup, I take back way I said 😂
Just buy a firearm and learn to use it.
Someone is hiding in there, bro
I am SO happy to see you being raw & real, Online, man!! As always, too! 😁🙏❤️🩹 & After seeing you do this for YEARS & YEARS!!! It is a big part of how I, myself! Have been able to share my own Journey, through Life, with things like my own experience, with having Brain Cancer!! Please, keep up the great Work! And as always!! 🫂❤️🩹😁 Thanks so much for sharing these with us, Boogie!! ♥️🙏❤️🩹 You are an absolute inspiration!! 🫂❤️🩹😁 & I love you so much!! ♥️
Wow Boogie, no idea you grew up so close to where my family live. I probably saw you around when I was a kid roaming around those mountains lol. Sorry you have not so great memories there though. I do know that that area has a lot of construction coming soonish. So maybe it'll sell for more later down the road? If that's your prerogative. Wish you the best of luck, brother.
I remember you filming breakfast with your mom in that house.
I can appreciate why you feel the way you feel, but it was never the place mate, it was the monsters that lived in it.
Worked at the Red Onion many times. It’s crazy to think that I’ve watched you since I was a kid. And I’ve passed by where you used to live, while going to do work up there. From TN
I noticed on both this video and the one from a few years ago, Boogie’s southern accent comes out a lot more when around that house.
As a man born in the south an accent never fully fades. It comes back more when you are around folks that also speak like that
boogie there are youtubers that make their content from doing landscaping makeovers such as @Al Bladez , THATS CONTENT!!!
This needs to happen, there is @clean the city too
Im proud of you boogie, this is a big step to maybe one day being healed. You have moved on, your happy, healthier then before and letting go of this place of pain for you. Keep on moving forward!
Man it's been a long time I remember you and Jesse taking a trip to Virginia and looking at your past it's amazing it hasn't really changed but thank you for sharing your personal life experience and I really appreciate it. 🙏❤️🏆
I wonder how the other house is holding up, the smaller one with the one bedroom.
You being able to move on from it and letting it go, something you weren't able to do before could be a sign that you're in a better place today than you have been before.
I quite liked this video Steve
It’s so much nicer to see this knowing that someone who actually cares about you is with you this time unlike the last trip with Jessie
I volunteer to come renovate an restore 🍻 mainly, I just want the land 😂😂
I’m just in shock that the house is still there after all this time.
Greetings From Belarus , love you Francis ^^
It's sad how basically everyone in the family of that home was miserable. I wouldn't wanna let go of it too if it was a family home. But somethings are better off let go
You're content is amazing, you're a W boogie.
Is this a re upload or you gone back
Gone back again this time without Jesse
@@boogie2988👍 (-:
Why not auction this land Boogie? @@boogie2988
Pretty big piece of land. I think you should have it surveyed before sale.
Remember watching the origin story in 2019, still go back to it and watch it from time to time.
I'm glad you went back again to take a final look, might be a moment of rehabilitation for you Boogie, I wish you well dude.
Love It Dessy And Steven Boogie2988 Guys.
Maybe some day i can buy this land tear down the house and replace it with a business, clear out the land but leave that tree and call it the "boogie tree"
I’m glad you went alone this time. In your origins story video with Jesse a few years ago I feel like Jesse was being so disrespectful not realizing that not everyone was lucky enough to grow up with the same luxuries that he grew up with.
"Holding a cat like im bout to eat it"
Shows a cat and young boog that is heart touching*
I can hear the pain. I know that pain.
I love you very much ❤ n ill see you in the next video
that no trespass sign is about your property boogie, not the land in front of it, that's how signs work, they're usually placed in front of the place you shouldn't go.
Thank you for sharing this. I'm not entertained by it... It makes me feel like I know you that much more. You are a very good, very cool person. You might hear that and think about some very not good, or very not cool things you've done... but I've never seen you shy away from your humanity. Both for you, and for others, and how you think about life experiences. You know part of humanity is accepting that no human is perfect.
In your last video, you said (or alluded to) that your journey these last few years were loaded with mistakes on how you ran the channel. I think a lot of what you said you did wrong, was actually right. The Francis sketches aren't my thing, Talking about random shit like games and what not are entertaining enough. But when you wanted to talk about an issue, I respected your take. You didn't need to have answers. You would just give me things to think about, or to chew on, as they say.
And when you got personal I respected it. I didn't pity you, I didn't get angry at you, I wasn't entertained by you. I just respected you. Your experiences kinda became my experiences. You taught, and I learned, about life from a character worth respecting. Your character. You. (Not Francis... You, a man of great character)
It’s really crazy to me, as someone now trapped in a country with far more limited land access and - honestly - land rights due to the British upper class stealing it, then selling it off to support their lifestyles (not that I’m bitter), to see a family house literally overgrown, and someone talking about owning what to me are unimaginable tracts of land.
It… really puts things into perspective. Here in the UK, that land would sell for serious dollars, assuming it still had outstanding residential zoning, and a property the size of the average US home would be worth an easy quarter to half a million pounds - more if it was in the south east. If we translate and assume it’s in a deprived area like the north east or west of England, then it’s still likely hundreds of thousands of dollars in land value alone.
Most of us are trapped into renting, my partner and I only just managed to scrape owning our property, and are trapped in a subsistence existence to continue owning it.
To imagine a family would let such a huge piece of land rusticate- well, I know it does happen, but it feels almost outrageous and tragic to my mind.
Which really goes to show, you can’t go home :- I can’t because all my homes after my first were either rented or were church-owned property (something which really annoys me now my mother is lucky to have a small communal flat, what precisely is the church doing to care for her?) and that first home was, at last glance, with over seven times what we sold it for, at a cool 3/4 of a million pounds.
Boogie that no trespassing sign was for your property no your neighbors. Behind the sign is what is posted. Just so ya know
I am so happy that your updated origin story is finally here. I have many memories of myself in the town of St. Paul and seeing all of the places you were at that I was at myself too this summer during the 4th of July is awesome. I drove around the town in a golf cart, swam in the pool, and saw some Celtic music at the Lyric Theatre.
Great video Steven, I hope you can get some closure around this house & the memories that haunt it. Nature seems to be helping in taking over & breaking it down. Keep your head up my man, you've come a long way, you got this.
The bird in the background is refreshing. I wish the house wasn’t so wasted for you
It's funny the glasses you were wearing in the picture when you were 8, remind me so much of the ones you were wearing when you were at CVC.
It just makes my heart glad that things turned out so well for you. College was so much less fun when you moved out of Crockett hall.
Now we just wait another 3 to 4 years and hopefully we can see your lady AND Jessie there to experience this with you again. There’s always room for forgiveness I hope you guys can find yours
Sometimes it’s good to see where you started to appreciate where you ended up. you may not always believe it Steven but you are successful. You have a beautiful home, fans who love you and a girlfriend who adores you.
Honestly man, I think it would do you some good to have that house torn down yourself and then maybe put something else there and then sell it if you decide you still don't want it after. But I really think that doing something with it yourself, would bring a sense of closure on it.
Now is the time to sell that land. You'll probably get well over $30,000 right now. The market is crazy.
nice to know that you've somewhat moved on. you could either fix up the house and sell it, or, demolish everything and sell just the land! either way moar money!
You walked right in front of my car at the Powell Valley overlook lol
Wish you had said hello! Next time please do!
@boogie2988 I did open my car door and said "Hey Boogie," but I'm not sure you heard me. Had to do a double take when I looked up and saw you haha
Your country comes out in your voice Boogie when you’re back home
1:49 Kid Boogie suffered from nerd glasses syndrome. That explains everything.
I can’t imagine the feelings you had while there, Boogie. Have you considered being the one to bulldoze the house?
Some good therapy for sure. Could even be part of the contract for selling the place. Letting him be the one to demolish the house.
Cool video man! Cant fight the demons if we dont face them 😊. Stay strong, brother!
Nah don’t sell the land. Make a reformed effort into a RUclips project, and begin venturing into DIY educational home fixing. Make a RUclips studio, a guest gamer haven AirBnB etc…
Don’t sell the land.
Good that you at least had some happy memories out in the backyard under that tree👍
Wow you can't even hardly see the place... last time it wasn't even a big deal to get to the door... not a bad way to have closure.
Hit me in the feels with this one.
I think it makes sense that a security guard wouldn't want it because if an inmate were aware, they'd probably TARGET the guards first.
Bull doze it down and start over. I’m sure it would make for a great piece of land once the house is gone and you can always make new, happier memories.
liked this video better when you and jesse did it together. now that it’s cut up it’s not the same.
Hi boogie hope you are having a great week stay safe boogie
He has a great head of hair for being 50 there I said something nice
There’s lots of things you can do with land, so much you don’t even know what 😂
You got this bro, lots of people wish they had land but don’t - you are in position to make your dreams come true!
Boogie clean it up please clean up the property clean up the property around the house get it cleaned up If I could afford it I would take the place off your hands but I don't have money I'm straight out broke I would honestly take this place and turn it around clean it up remodel the house save it and bring it back to life
Have to say boogie looks really healthy
You know what would be a great video? Fixing this house up! Possible donating it to a less fortunate person or relative in need of a home, would be one of the best feelings of closure you can get - like moving on from a passed loved one
I can understand how you feel seeing your childhood home in disrepair, with all the trauma that went on there. On the other hand it really upsets me to see homes abandoned and in disrepair when there are so many who need homes.
Much love to you Boogie.
Screw that house, its behind you boogie!
Love you Boogie! Keep on trucking! 👍🏻😁
Please post the old video someone of him and jesse
I personally would’ve remodeled and fixed the place up long before it became ran down to this point. It would possibly have been a rental that could have been some side income. I just hate to see good value and money go to waste. I completely understand though. I guess you could look at it several ways. You could sell and rid yourself of it or break the cycle and turn it into a paid for home for yourself that YOU defeated. Im glad your finding peace with it buddy. PEACE is the bottom line most important. Spiritually and Physically.
One of the ways that you could deal with it is fight tooth and nail to get every penny possible to rip everything out except the tree.
While it may "look" desolate decrepit and abandoned it is "still" a present sign of the events that happened there.
But this the opinion of random person, ask your relatives and therapists if you really want.
Keep it going man, one step at a time, don't try to go for the goal in one leap.
Good luck with that property I would say if your really serious about selling that property get with a realtor they will get you maximum dollar for it everything right now is still way up so it’s definitely a good time to part ways with it…👍👍👍
I appreciate you being real with the ending about how you enjoyed the tree and outside cookouts. I understand what you mean about the house though
Good. You let go. That's a good, good thing.
Looks like it could hopefully be a nice woodsy retreat for someone oneday
Wow I can’t believe land is so cheap in the US. That place would probably sell for $1,000,000 in Australia.
I don't know why, but i love these videos
Wise decesion to sell it now, you won't ever see prices like this for the remainder of your life. Sell it, bury your memories and let it go
Reminds me of my early urban explorations. I remember the other video of you going here.
That can Absolutely Happen!......
I would buy it but it is really far from my family. A beautiful cabain would be nice after living my whole life in the city.
It is a beautiful place. Of course it definitely changes when you have intense, sad memories attached to the place. But for some other person apart from Boogie, it seems like the perfect place to rest, play with your dogs and your kids while your lovely wife laughs and the ribs are slowly getting smoked.
Holy cow. $28,000 for a house and land? Are you joking? Here I am thinking about getting a car for $40k and you’re telling me I can a buy a whole ass property for less than that? Wow. You just blew my mind, Boogie
Yes sir. It just has to be in the middle of absolutely nowhere right next to a prison that hosts dangerous murderers hahaha
What is this, the 3rd, 4th, 5th, variation of this video you've made now? And you still haven't got a landscaper to clear the brush
Do you have some kind of closure now? You have some kind of peace and Harmony
Folks rarely if ever escape maximum security. That security guard was an idiot
That’s a lot of memories there. Love this kind of content video. I really enjoy it the last time I watched it. Awesome video Boogie! ❤
reupload from the ol' Storyfire?
