You are very informative I inherited a liquid blue AC DC long sleeve tie dye t-shirt and I love it and I believe you have opened my eyes to the value of it. I appreciate you and your information I'm just an old hippie and thank you so much
there were single stitch liquid blues after 2000 probably just printed on older shirts they had.... as far as the white tag liquid blue the company still uses them sometimes... i have a direct account with liquid blue i got a grateful dead 2020 shirt with the white tag however it says mexico on it... dope video love liquid blue
Super Interesting! I just spoke to a LB rep and this is what they told me: "We are very sorry but we no longer make items with the hanging tag as we have made in the past. We do still sell a very small amount of items that have been around since when we used to do those labels, and they are the only items that may be sold with a hanging tag however most of these items are completely sold out at this point. " Thanks for watching!
I have a liquid blue zeppelin hermit tee with the small white tag behind the liquid blue one and it’s a single stitch and made in the USA so I agree with you. Mine is prolly early 2000’s
Important note about the copyright date: there are a lot of modern reprints with old copyright. I have also seen silver tags with copyright dates as late as 2014. I would say a combination of stitching and tag is far more priority in figuring out when it was made
Thanks so much for this video! I have a few vintage t-shirts that I got between 1992 and 1993. I was about to donate them, but I wonder for how much I can sell them. 😊
It depends on the shirt. Are they concert/show shirts? Those are the shirts that people might buy but usually not for the prices the buyers ask. It also depends on the band and the concert and the year. Most people seem to sell 20 dollar show tees from the 90's for a ridiculous price. Definitely not fam. Just greedy. I saw a shirt that was falling apart listed for $300. It was hilarious.
@@eggtooth9774 Thanks so much for the reply and the info! No they are not concert T-shirts. They are two different versions of the Sun / Moon shirts. One in particular seem to be more sought after than the other.
I have a Liquid Blue T-shirt that has the vintage tag and single stitching. It is white with five solid colored dancing Grateful Dead bears. Would you have an idea about when it was made? If not, so you know who I could contact to find out?
Ive got a 1994 liquid blue wizard aop. Early tag made in USA 100% cotton care instructions on the back. Copyright 1994 liquid blue at the bottom of the front and back of the tee. Double stitched shirt. What do you think?
Technically yes, though Liquid Blue didn't use them until the general industry changed over around 96. The copyright is for the art not the tee. Should like you probably have a legit late 90s Liquid Blue.
Hey so I’m new to liquid blue tags n was wondering if this tag was real? It’s a 2000 wizard Grateful Dead shirt, with the more brownish tag n under another tag it says “ M sewing thread and fabric 100%cotton Made in Honduras “ If you know it’d be very appreciated🤝 I wanted to buy this shirt of someone before It’s gone and didn’t know if it’s authentic cause the price. Anyways thank you again and nice videos!
Hey could you send me a photo of the shirt to lootfam1@gmail.com or my insta @lootfamvtg? I can give you a better opinion if I can see the images. Thanks!!
I didn't even know Liquid Blue was desirable till I was having a clear out of my old clothes. My 21yr old kiddo saw the two I had bought in the early 90's and nicked them off me pronto. To say she was like a cat that got the cream was an understatement. That's how I found out about them being a good vintage brand lol.
So mine I got off Etsy and is printed onto the back so would be a modern print buttt there's a few strands hanging right where a tag would be so looks like it was cut out. And the copywriting icon shows 1997...so likely a reprint but I'm just wondering if there was ever a combo of a physical tag and printed into shirt tag, could it still be vintage? Or if I hold onto it, maybe it'll be worth something someday?
I got a 1993 liquid blue shirt but it’s double stitched with the dating on a white liquid blue but it says USA fabric assembled in Mexico.. is this a shirt from 2000s?
I have a 1995 single stitched LB gargoyle shirt that's still in great condition. The rapper Travis Scott wore the exact same shirt in one of his music videos and it's value skyrocketed. Wearing it now in fact! I don't care about it's value or the money. I like the shirt too much to give it up! I owned it before Travis Scott even got famous. LB recently started making reprints of this shirt.
I found the Chris Pinkerton skull shirt today that he wore too.. I'm here trying to figure out if its the real deal lol it has no tag but it is single stitch and signed
@@rachelhelms7327 If single stitched, it probably is a real, vintage LB shirt but as for the signature, you would have to find a handwriting specialist who could evaluate the signature.
Its hard to know unfortunately. If its another company tag, look up the history of that tag. There are also a couple variations of the silver later tag, you should also try looking into that if its that one
Sadly I have many lb shirts with the size tag but without the lb tag. I worked at lb for a while. Mountain also but mostly for access. Sadly lb had a pretty strict policy that gave away shirts to employees, and the policy is/was to cut the lb tag to hurt the value and keep them from being resold via employees. They still give certain employees dead stock vintage, with that lb tag cut and most of the time the white tag is so beat up.
Does anyone know if Liquid blue ever used Gildan heavy cotton tag ? I have one with a Gildan tag "licensed" in the 2000s, not sure this is a replica 😔😔😔
In the 00s It wouldn't be that strange to see LB licensed artwork not on a LB tag. In fact, LB moved to generic blanks and just added their tag at some points.
I found a liquid blue t shirt with a fruit of the loom tag, is this tag older than the white liquid blue tag? The fruit of the loom tag is on a 1992 Liquid Blue Chris Pinkerton All Over Print Skull T shirt.
I don't believe they are generally older, as there are instances of them being used at or around the same time as each other. This is a somewhat common occurrence in the t-shirt market at the time even with other brands like Giant. Art licenses might be used on other tagged tees, but is still legit. The reason for this isn't entirely clear but one could imagine supply issues or preferred fit being issues. Your tee is def a banger. Thanks for watching!
I’ve got a liquid blue Grateful Dead tshirt with double stitching and a brown tag but the copyright says 1994 GDM Inc. Can you place around the time that it was made ?
Largely this is true, but it wasn’t transitioned all at once. There was a progressive change that pretty definitively ended by the early 2000s. Whether this was from old stock being used up or continues production there are examples of shirts from this period still being single stitch. Thanks for watching!
@@mandman3333 the latest shirt i have is a 2008 print. It’s a willie nelson tour shirt and they used the same blanks for years in a row. I guess they sourced a bunch of vintage black blanks and didn’t run out till 2007-08 tour
I have the dolphin version of the first shirt on the rack named Underwater from 1990. Original owner, still in excellent condition. Also a Grateful Dead Ship of Fools copyright says 1993 but I bought it in 94. Also excellent condition.

If it has a printed label then it's not gonna be vintage. Likely they were generic blanks with tags that were removed and replaced with the printed.

Mostly likely 1997
Good info. Thanks for sharing!
My liquid blue bulldog shirt is 1999 double stitched
Copyright date is hard to go by. If it has double stitching it would depend on the tag if there is one
The industry stopped making single stitch around 1996, not the early 2000s

my ben&jerry white liquid blue tag doesn't have the MADE IN USA in the top left conner but it has single stitches so does that means it fake?😢😩😩😩
it only has the 100% cotton😂

Great vid bro! Got yourself a sub 👍🏻
I'd rather have a reprint.
I thought I was the only one 😂
white tags still exist it’s a fact i sell them it says assembled in mexico .....
Mase in USA on tag.. Thats Legit?
Generally, yes.
Thank you 🙏
if it says mexico it’s a reprint
vintage white tags are made in usa... no mexico counterparts or mention
Close to getting a downvote for the shave job. Consider this a warning. lol
Haha... don't watch any more recent vids...I probably earned one. ha
