This is fantastic, what a find! There are very few outtakes, bloopers, or behind-the-scenes footage that still exists of S&H so this is a real gem!
Another Starsky and Hutch fan here, excited to see some new behind-the-scenes footage! I especially love Paul grabbing his camera to take a picture, and David lounging in the sun. Thanks for posting this!

Thank you so, so much for sharing this gem! S&H still has a dedicated fan base, and for me, seeing new footage like this is like Christmas come early. The show will have its 50th anniversary in six years, but it's not like we fans have any hope of getting a fancy box set with lots of unseen footage and other extras. Seeing this makes up for that, a little! By the way, this episode was filmed in early August 1976, if you want to add a more accurate date to your video description. Thanks again!
It would be nice if they would redo the DVD to include all the deleted scenes, goofs, bloopers, and outtake. So much more so now that David is gone.
Chris, you are a hero here at "All About David Soul" I've been to many Estate sales but all I got was a rock! We never got to see behind the scenes of S&H except those funny Blooper reals. We all thank you so much for posting!
It was total luck on my part. I purchased a large 8mm reel from off eBay and this was the last few minutes of the person's Hawaii vacation reel. I cannot figure out if he was just a lucky bystander on the ship or actually part of the crew. Wish i could track down the person or family of the person who shot this. Coolest thing i have ever found.
@@repromo I just found out, after a lot of digging around, that this ship is S.S. Monterey, then owned by the Pacific Far East Line and cruising San Francisco - Hawaii and all the way to Australia and NZ.

Paul's girlfriend Elizabeth & future wife was on that with Paul and she was in a scene sitting at a table next to the singer who played Mr Takahashi. David went up to that table to introduce him but his hat hid her during that time. But you could see her before that. I think he was just being friendly to a fan or actress in that episode. He was loyal to Elizabeth.
