So this very case by case for me, because some stories are structured to be more about the journey than the ending and vice versa. That being said a story can have a fantastic ending, but the journey dragged or got boring for you. This may result with you never reaching the ending. While a journey can be amazing, the build up was phenomenal, but you reach that final chapter the story just lands flat on its face. This can make the reader feel like the time and investment they have poured into said story was a waste, and ruin all the good that came before it. Both are extremely important and can make or break a story.
