Good morning Sir! Thoroughly enjoy your videos and I have to say that from experience just about any gear that is made in Japan is hands above anything else or in the market. I was lucky enough to spend 6 months in Okinawa as a U.S.Marine and even luckier to get my hands on some camping gear. To this day it blows my mind how much you get for what you pay for, and that's without any gimmicks being included, which says plenty. Thales for your videos, I particularly am grateful for your honesty and morals. Semper Fidelis
If you have water in one ear, you can lower that side of the chair and raise the other. You will lean to the side and the water will come out much easier.
Sounds like an awesome product! As we get older, getting up and down from low-sitting positions can be challenging. This would be a great piece of gear for those of us experiencing this difficulty. So I guess I will definitely be looking to purchase two of these, one for my wife and myself! Thank you again Luke for another great review!
Useful in the camping cabin or outdoors. Very pretty design too. I do not know if I'd want to carry the chair for long distances as in a backpacking trip but for car camping or walking to a sporting event like soccer or a picnic, sure. Thanks for the fine review!
I bought a collapsible chair at Costco that is very similar to the Sugoi (your pronunciation was spot on!). However, it is not adjustable and lacks the three pockets. It is very easy to deploy taking only seconds and it is extremely comfortable; weight limit is 250 pounds. I would love to add this chair and throw out my second chair I bought at Walmart for $20; supposedly meant for backpacking but the weight makes that a ridiculous thought. $100 for this Sugoi is a bargain! Many of my gear pieces are now from Soto due to your reviews. Domo origato, Luke-san!
I was going to same the same. Luke, your pronunciation was great! It’s a word emphasizing surprise in a positive manner like, wow, awesome, amazing, etc
Not only does this chair look great the price is in line with most camp chairs on the market. With the features and quality of build I think it is worth it.
Good video, but one big con I see is, the chair max holding weight is 220lbs. Big seat is nice but holding 220lbs kind of takes away that wider seat option for some of us. Just my opinion. Thanks Luke for all the videos and time you put into them.
Right after hearing Luke’s review of this chair, I ordered one. I really like this chair. The great thing is when Luke says he likes a product, it’s a great product. You never have to worry about the quality. He is definitely unique in the camping world. I so enjoy his videos and I’ve bought several products so far. Keep up the great work Luke!!
I assume the chair seat cover can go in a washing machine? Great review, I like that chair. Low ground level would be great at a waters edge too! I’m interested in a couple for inside the house, extra seating. Love the size, 5lb, and doesn’t look so much like a camping chair. I think its style would fit into my decor if needed.
Luke once again you did a outstanding review. I like that this Chanel is agenda free. I have bought some of the products you have reviewed. Thank you for your honesty my friend. Wow the chair is outstanding just like their air mattress. Strength and Honor Luke
If you're car camping. Go for the Pod Rocker by GCI Outdoors. Well built. I use it everyday when I play racquet ball and it's the envy of those around me.
I've been using the Front Runner folding camp chair for over landing. I like the runner style feet for use in the tent. It also is pretty compact when folded.
Hey I just started watching this what is drawn in by the cotton canvas for an outdoor gear item. That kind of interest to me. Then I had to make this comment because I got a laugh when you were apologizing if you said the name of the product incorrectly it looked like you took a little bit of a partial bow. And I know the products are made in Japan so that just got a chuckle out of me. Almost like an apologetic bow to the Japanese manufacturers.😂 0:59
I saw Luke using this chair a few vids back and remember him saying how much he appreciated the cotton canvas material blocking the wind as well as the adjustability and size. I should have checked the chair out then. Oh, well. LOL I just watched this review instead of what I originally stopped by for. I was looking for an old review on another wish list item that I couldn't remember the exact name of. Watched this vid instead and bounced thru the Luke Link to Amazon. It must be selling like hotcakes 'cause the price has gone up 50%. List price is now $150. Damn! The "Luke Bump" is in full swing. As Pop's loved saying, "Timing is everything". The chair now moves to the wish list for time being. Now back to what I came here for....Semper Fi, Pack. Happy New Year!
It would work on a sandbar!!! These type of chairs, with the legs sink into the sand and will bend due to the direction they sink into the sand. With them folded it will prevent that. Wonderful!
I do wonder just how stain and water resistant the material is. That light tan looks like a magnet for dirt and spills. I also wonderi if the cotton material will resist wear over the pole pockets. If the seat material will not withstand many seasons of use it is not a good investment.
Thanks for another great review. Always great products from DOD. My only issue is the weight capacity. For such a large chair I expected a more robust capacity than 220 lbs.
Maybe I have not seen enough of these style chairs and usually the price a big issue for me when comes to gear . But Oh Man! I like it and for the price as well. I like the size and adjustability. Great overall design as well in my opinion.
I'm very happy.with the OneTigris you recommended. One real plus of it is it folds up much more compact than this one. This looks good for car camping. And if I were 20 lbs lighter!
I've tossed the fairly large hand warmers they sell here into that back pocket. They keep the back a little toasty. They do make some pretty good camping (glamping) gear here, but my co-workers always ask me to get Coleman stuff from the base for them. Don't know why, but I hook them up. I've traded a Coleman stove and a tent for Soto gear. Maybe they hold Coleman in high regards.
I always love your review of products you are awesome and you are honest and so cool. Thank you and good morning to you both. :) Have a great year . :)
Just a note about your carving project. I believe your bowl is aligned with the grain of the wood, which will cause it to leak fluids. I may be wrong however. S&H!
Hello Luke I hope you are all doing well I just jumped onto DOD website I have to say they're not overly expensive the chair in British pounds is £100.25 reduce down from £75
I just bought one based on your recommendation. I bought it based on adjustability. I am short and ususally, chairs sit too far backwards. I need a more upright back. Also, if the chair back is too short, I find I am leaning back and trying to support my head. Very difficult on my neck.
Nice chair...the only con I see is the weight limit, there are multiple chairs out there at only 1 or 2 pounds with a 300 pound weight limit or better. For a big chair with large surface area you would think they would have big and tall guys in mind that weigh over 220.
Does it sink into a soft base? It's an amazing chair, but sometimes we need a skirt that fits onto the feet to prevent it from sinking. Maybe we can purchase one separately?
I have this chair. Received it a couple of weeks ago. It is definitely well made. Will we see the rain test on the Ichi tent soon @theoutdoorgearreview ? :)
Fantastic review and fantastic chair! I love the versatility of it. ❤ Edit: okay… what is that BEAST of a vehicle in the background of the updated thumbnail!?!? Sir, is that your new car!?!?!?!? 😲
Ok so my opinion is, other companies Should consider Some of these features in Their outdoor chairs....it's innovative and practical, I think I would purchase it IF the price were between $60--$70, and with mass production....I think that's a Fair statement....also having 3 choices in color is a good benefit because all my gear IS O.D. green ......
Your treasing us!!! Tell us about the Japanese Import and in this video there is one in the background. Ought to be Awsome. I have a 13 foot travel trailer I am using with my 15 year old Ford Explorer. Want travel to Scouting camps in the South and Southwest. The gear you review and show is not perfect for the this area. Temps seldom get in the teens along the Gulf Coast and rain is not as prevalent as in NC. Still Great ideas from you and Suzie,
Post for the Pack: Just found this chair ON SALE at DoD website for 13% OFF and Free Shipping. Their List Price was the same as Amazon's: $149. DoD Sale Price is $129 ($20 in savings). They didn't say how long the sale lasts but the free shipping ends Jan. 15th.
I like it. Of course I’ve also liked the OneTigris chair, the OneTigris table, and so on. Luke, just about every time you show something, I have to go and buy it. I even have the ole SunDick table LOL. The OneTigris is much better in my opinion. Anyway, thanks for what you do, but you cost me a bunch of money every time I watch you😂.
Small edit, you made a typo. I guess the weight is ment to be 0.997kg and not 99.7kg. Not really made for camping if otherwise 😅. Other than that, love your stuff Luke. Keep up the good work, strength and honor 💪🏽
Not a bad camping chair, it's just not for me. Too many moving parts to think over and I would probably only use one configuration and keep it that way. Plus the higher price and I think I'll stay with my Trekology chairs I already own. Simple to set up and use and have an additional sand mesh that attaches to the legs to keep the chair from digging into soft ground.
Dude this is a nice product and I would get one except I haven’t weighed even close to 220 lbs since I was in high school and I’m not big and fat just big. I’m a 100 lbs over the max weight rating.
With shipping, this chair will cost 100 euros and thats including the current Amazon 40 percent off deal. Thats just too pricy for a camping chair, even though it looks good and comfortable. Cheaper options are widely available, so they really need to produce it cheaper to sell it over here and with a proper instruction. Good review.
Just for anyone over in Europe, just purchased one direct from DOD (thanks Luke!) - on the EU site they are free delivery and charging €89 each..... That seems more of a bargain. Not sure if there are any taxes yet, just getting confirmation via email if they ship from within the EU.
Odd stats for a chair like this. Backpacking style… Car camping weight. But I guess some people take small cars when they go car camping. I take a truck, and have been known to toss in a La-Z-Boy recliner.
I really do hope that you will start exploring gears from over seas... at least the companies that do ship international. South Korean & Japanese gears especially, they are really really! into car camping/ glamping so you will find a lot of very well designed, specialized gears. "Su-Goi" like Sue Goy

Now that's what I call a outdoorsy chair. I like it
I like lots. Even hiking a short distance would be OK.. probably could put extra stuff in the carry bag. Thanks Luke for reviewing this one.
Love it. I follow a lot of RUclipsrs that use DoD, they're products are always unique and innovative and I feel quite good for the price!
Wow, of all the camp chairs and copy cats I've seen this is a design I've never seen before. Interesting find, thanks for sharing!
If you have water in one ear, you can lower that side of the chair and raise the other. You will lean to the side and the water will come out much easier.
I fold the carry bag up and slot it into the top seat pocket. Makes quite a comfy pillow / neck support 🧐
Just added 2 chairs using your Amazon link and they are currently only $89.00 each!
Looks like a pretty good base/car camp chair....& I am a fan of good canvas products from way back. Thx Luke
Boat
Useful in the camping cabin or outdoors. Very pretty design too. I do not know if I'd want to carry the chair for long distances as in a backpacking trip but for car camping or walking to a sporting event like soccer or a picnic, sure. Thanks for the fine review!
What an awesome chair , I love this. looks very well constructed like how you can adjust it. thank you for the review appreciated
Looks like it would be a good winter camping chair, when you are pulling most of your gear on a sled a little extra weight doesn't mean much
Hearing Luke pronounce "Sugoi" properly is great. Sugoi is japanese for "amazing/emphasis" (more or less).
I bought a collapsible chair at Costco that is very similar to the Sugoi (your pronunciation was spot on!). However, it is not adjustable and lacks the three pockets. It is very easy to deploy taking only seconds and it is extremely comfortable; weight limit is 250 pounds. Yes. Many American gents weigh that 220 or more. Especially taller guys.
Whenever I get the idea to buy something I look for your review. I hope RUclips is treating you well because you’re priceless.
I wanna see more of the Devil's Throne trail. I wanna see what made those footfalls and noises behind you as you hiked.
I would get that for the house, never mind camping 😂..looks comfy 😊
I assume the chair seat cover can go in a washing machine? Great review, I like that chair. Low ground level would be great at a waters edge too!
I’m interested in a couple for inside the house, extra seating. Love the size, 5lb, and doesn’t look so much like a camping chair. I think its style would fit into my decor if needed.
Good afternoon from Syracuse NY Luke thank you for sharing your opinion on equipment

This is a chair I will consider buying. I like the quality and the adjustability.
Cant wait to get mine from Luke himself!!! Thinking of snaggin the other one ya got still Luke...pretty stoked.

Nice chair sitting in the dark watching TOGR reruns some A holes shot up the Moore county power grid interesting times
Thanks for another great review. Always great products from DOD. My only issue is the weight capacity. For such a large chair I expected a more robust capacity than 220 lbs.

I couldn't find the weight limit on Amazon. Thanks for posting it.
Interesting chair👍 Looks comfy for carcamp, and still compact enough. Price seems right spot on!
Dude, why is there a Defender in your thumbnail? I didnt think you could get them in Canada?
Luke, I like the chair. It looks comfortable. Thanks for the review!

I have this one, got it becuase i could not decide on chair height
Just a note about your carving project. I believe your bowl is aligned with the grain of the wood, which will cause it to leak fluids. I may be wrong however. S&H!
I’m too big for the chair. Common problem for me
That's a really nice chair with impressive features. 👍
looks like a great chair... thanks for the introduction to this chair.
Super nice chair.
i see it is $89 on Amazon right now which seen nice and cheap i think i will get one for that price Thanks Luke
Hello Luke I hope you are all doing well I just jumped onto DOD website I have to say they're not overly expensive the chair in British pounds is £100.25 reduce down from £75
What about the rig on the thumbnail?
Hey Luke, you review this Japan chair on your channel, great job thank you for sharing
That is definitely a nice design and the cost is not to steep. It would be good for vehicle camping but it is to large for backpacking.
Just wondering how easy is it to get out of?
I can fall out of anything with no problem
That’s a neat chair for sure. Very nice 👍 ❤🇬🇧
I just bought one based on your recommendation. I bought it based on adjustability. I am short and ususally, chairs sit too far backwards. I need a more upright back. Also, if the chair back is too short, I find I am leaning back and trying to support my head. Very difficult on my neck.

Excellent review...freedom for all people .
Looks like an awesome chair for the price. Its a shame the weight limit is only 220lbs.
Hey any chance you could show footage of you boxing? Love you’re channel
Finally impressed with a camping chair.
How is this on soft ground? Does it have to be used with the legs stowed to avoid digging in?
2:03 whats burning there?🤔
I have this chair. Received it a couple of weeks ago. It is definitely well made. Will we see the rain test on the Ichi tent soon @theoutdoorgearreview ? :)
I love your channel, great woods en nice products
With the legs folded in looks like it would also work as a beach ⛱ chair.
Thanks for review… I like my helinox chair..
I love how it can adjust bust needs to hold more weight before I would buy it
Price, weight and functionality would be great for family camping. However, the weight limit for the size… it needs to be about 50% sturdier
I'd buy it ,looks quality.
Fantastic review and fantastic chair! I love the versatility of it. ❤
Edit: okay… what is that BEAST of a vehicle in the background of the updated thumbnail!?!?
Sir, is that your new car!?!?!?!? 😲
That’s amazing chair Look I love it

90 bucks on Amazon I’m in, have you tried the SOTO sleeping pad???

What is the DOD warranty?
Gear room update??
PLEASE please put the name of the music you use. What is the song at the end of this video?
ls it waterproof ?...lol...good one, keep safe...

Best chair ever

"Su-Goi" like Sue Goy
I'm a lean 245 lbs. What's the weight limit on this godly throne? Lol
I bought a similar one from Moon Lence , cheaper and packs smaller
As for Japanese instructions, I simply use my camera and let it do the translation
Love the chair, but doesn’t hole enough weight. When you are over 6’ and weigh over #250, lots of the available equipment and surplus won’t work
Hope it doesn't rain
Segoi means amazing or wow
Hello nice Video ✌
As an American, I will say the obvious, what is the weight limit? We are some big lovely people out here.
220#
Nice very nice.
I like it. 🙂
Nice
Weight limit is 220.
I'm 6' 5", 235.
Of course.
