My wife makes 10 times my salary and when we were dating she paid and I sometimes I paid. I always knew if she took me to a restaurant that cost three to four hundred dollars I knew she would pay, if it was a normal place I paid. Not all women are overly concerned about money.

Men just want a woman who OFFERS to pay or help. That makes the difference for men. I think I speak for a lot of men in saying that we’ll gladly pay, if you offer to help pay/split a bill. THAT makes all the difference. Some women don’t even have the courtesy to offer they just expect everything to be paid for. If a woman asks a man on a date, “hey you wanna go half” or “I’ll pay for mine” I can guarantee you that guy will look at that woman differently JUST BECAUSE of that. It says she has respect and doesn’t expect certain things just because that’s society’s way of doing things.

Not in my era, I guess I am just old. That just seems weird to me. I would feel very uncomfortable if my date paid my way, even if she was rich. I mean I understand if it is something very extravagant and she really wants to do it and I can't afford it. However I am poor, she doesn't exactly date poor people from what I have seen. They should be able to pay for things. I get the whole equality thing, but sometimes you still need to treat a woman like she is a woman. Tell her she is pretty, take her out to dinner, fix some shit around the house, be protective of her. Be a man for crying out loud. Sure she is a race car driver and makes good money, but she is still a woman and I am sure likes to feel like one. She works in a male world, but if you look at how she dresses and stuff you can tell she is pretty feminine. I see nothing wrong with wanting to be treated that way when she isn't on the track doing her job.

People judging her for saying the truth about having dated guys who never picked up a tab do not know how it is to be in that kind of situation. I’ve dated so many of those guys that won’t even pay for their own simple water bottle and would leech on my own savings and not even contribute to the daily expenses almost living like a King when I work my ass off and have saved enough for my future Retirement (I’m just 32 and financially stable). It’s financially liberating to be able to pay for my own shit as an Independent Woman with my life sorted out; but it’s emotionally and psychologically draining to be “taking care” of a grown Man who refuses to even shoulder 1% of the daily expenses of living together.

Unlike Danica, Aaron has been very successful at his craft and has been rightfully rewarded.
